I have always been like that. I did court registry and threw a reception after one year that included around 20 family/ friends. Thats it! Saved a lot of money and also ended up leaving the country right after marriage, away from annoying relatives and people who like to pry. This worked well to some extent and both my husband and I are living pretty peacefully away from from all the drama.

Actually you’ve skipped the amazing parts about Pallavi talking about equality in a wedding. She put her foot down on the kanyadaan and ensured that it gave out a message that both men and women are equal in the institution of a marriage and that a woman isn’t a commodity that should be “sacrificed”
