Then hold the "short black" and "long black" buttons on the left side down for about 1-2 seconds, then keep holding them down and additionally hold down the power button. Keep all 3 buttons held down (4-5 seconds) until the menu screen comes on the display. Hope this helps save you what I went through!!

Just spoke to a technician. We have 3 at work and I have descaled two so far and the exact same model has 2 different ways so far to get to the menu. THE MACHINE HAS TO BE OFF (on standby mode. The red light at the power button shouldn't flicker and it must be on) One way is to hold the 3 buttons together with the power button at the same time for four seconds. The other machine I just held the small cup and the large cup together at the same time with the power button for four seconds. Hope this helps

We accidentally found that holding down the short and long button, and then the on/off button for five seconds plus, worked a treat. (The Nespresso help desk were completely useless. - I almost lost the will to live)

If you can not open the menu with 3 fingers pushing the 3 coffee buttons at the same time, then do not use the middle finger. Some machines are using another way to start up the menu. Use the buttons left and right and the on-off button at the same time. Then the menu will start up.

My machine did not give me an option to turn the direct water off after entering the menu. After wasting time trying to find it, (I did get into the menu option, following the comments below) I finally proceeded by skipping that step, just made sure to turned off the tab on the back. And continued the descaling with no issues. Tip: Make sure to put one tray to catch the water for from the steamer (right tray) one one to catch the hot water (left tray). I accidentally put both to the left and water almost went over. I was able to switch them just on time.

On my machine CS 203, while the machine was off I had to press down at the same time the ristreto and the lungo on the left side and the power button for five second. Then I had access to the menu. My CS223 won’t fill through the mains after the descaling process, there is no setting to turn mains on/off, only at the rear valve. Does anyone know a solution?

Why does the manual for "Type 733 / CS203 " say to fill both tanks with each 1 liter water and 2 sachets (each 0.1 liter) but this video says to fill the left tank (front view) with 2 liters and 4 sachets and the right tank with 1 liter and 2 sachets?
While you can use the larger amounts for the CS200 and CS203, as there is no milk function on them, you can instead use the smaller amounts advised in the manual. We hope you find this useful.
