BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery - Course Details, Eligibility, Duration

Bachelor of Dental Surgery or BDS course is an undergraduate course in the field of dentistry. This course helps an aspirant to become a Dentist.
BDS Eligibility
The duration of BDS Degree course is 5 years including 4 Years of Academic studies followed by 1 year of compulsory internship. Aspiring candidates can go for BDS degree from more than 300 government or Private Dental colleges in India.
For joining BDS course the aspiring candidate must have Passed senior secondary examination with an aggregate score of 50% from a recognized board or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects in 12th class.
BDS course Entrance exam
Candidates need to clear some entrance exams like NEET UG to get admission into most of the Government and private Dental Institutes of India.
BDS Course Fee
The fee of BDS course varies from as low as Rs.50,000 for some good Government Dental Colleges to as high as Rs.12,00,000 for some of the reputed private Dental colleges in India.
