  • Ross and Eric travel to the snow capped wilderness of northern Michigan to trade their old Dodge Coronet for the parts they need to make their “Brontosaurus” police car drivable again. Wow what a cool collection of parts cars. The MSP cars are neat to see even in sad shape.
I think I’d much rather dig into cars for parts in the winter then deal with spiders and wasps in the summer.
    Another entertaining episode

I'm at @6:50 in to the video. I had switched tabs to read while listening to your video. One thing that strikes me is that your audio mixing is very, very well done. Firstly, I am sensitive to audio and I have not had to adjust the volume for any part of your video. (I listen with a PC and Sennheiser headphones.) I almost forgot and thought I was listening to a Discovery or MotorTrend channel because the audio just seems so smooth. Well friggin' done. You're one of the VERY few channels that has the background audio down to a proper level.

Thank you very much for the kind words and positive feedback about our audio. Our producer Austin and editor Tommie work hard to make sure everything looks and sounds as good as it can for viewers using headphones. We could have released the videos last year but decided to wait until we could bring on a media team to add some quality and post-production value to our homemade show. We want our Chase Classic Motors brand to show thoughtful work and passion in everything we do. That's just how car guys are!

@27:47 - in '88, I was driving a 1979 Mercury Zephyr in two-tone cream. That car just kind of went. I just scrapped a 1983 Chevy Caprice which I made a small video about back in the day. It was in decent shape overall.

It happens to a lot of great cars in this part of the USA where we live too. We like think of scrapping as just another form of recycling! So that other great cars may live...

I decided to try and watch the whole video. Possibly make sure your phone camera lens is clean before filming. I usually carry a microfiber cloth everywhere. I'm a geek though.

I would pay just to be able to walk around his yard.

No need to pay... just bring something "old" and "Mopar" to trade and you'll be in like flint!

The reason I clicked on this video is probably not relevant to your content, but comments drive engagement, so this is just me doing that.
Northern Exposure was a 90's television show which my father and I watched religiously. I have a folder full of 98GB of that show. I still watch episodes to this day. I'm going to guess that 100% of the people who read this comment will give fu**all about this show. Second point - Just watched a Vice Grip Garage/Dulsich video of a Coronet car. I also watch Northern Exposure frequently. Seems that UA-cam does actually read my thoughts which is as entertaining as it is terrifying.

Thank you for checking out our video. Most viewers probably wouldn't get the 90s TV reference in our episode title. There was something about the weather and the scenery while filming that made Ross think of the theme song to Northern Exposure while Eric attempted to steer the old Dodge Coronet. That theme set the tone for the humor of the episode as we filmed it. Happy you noticed!

@@ChaseClassicMotors Hold up, you mean I actually GOT the joke?? That would be some form of fate. Whoa.
I mean, I can literally quote the show. I have the ORIGINAL television episodes with all of the original music in tact. The DVD compilations had a LOT of the music stripped for copyright reasons. This is trippy.

@25:43 - What is your recording setup in this shot?

    • @ChaseClassicMotors
      @ChaseClassicMotors  2 місяці тому

Most of the episode was shot with a Black Magic professional grade camera. We are lucky enough to have car show friends who are professional filmmakers. Unfortunately, the camera was very heavy, static shot, manual focus, and the cold weather played havoc with our radio mic setup. This is why Ross transferred over to the handheld mic for the interview segment as we had been filming for 5-6 hours.
Future season 1 episodes (#4 thru #13) were filmed exclusively with an iPhone 14 PRO to speed up production and give a more real-time documentary look to the channel. We hope you will watch our new episodes which will be released on UA-cam every two weeks until Christmas!

Cleetus Mcfarland has 3.7 million subscribers and an entire production crew and they cannot manage to mix audio like this. That channel has the WORST audio on UA-cam. I'm well impressed.

That's high praise for a little startup channel like ours! We watched a lot of successful UA-cam car channels before starting our own and one thing that stood out to us was the lack of careful camera work and audio mixing. We love automotive media and we hope that giving our videos interesting visuals and good sounding audio demonstrates how much we care about our audience. We're just a small Detroit-based workshop with a shoestring budget, but we're determined to give our channel viewers the same quality experience as our customers who trust us with their awesome cars.
