It took about maybe 5 years for the final Dazzling song to be released after their appearance in Rainbow Rocks and it did not disappoint. The Dazzlings themselves aren’t evil anymore but they aren’t good. After losing their magic against the Rainbooms they simply started to live life. Finding their own way to find magic in the mundane and simple things in life. The song is a reflection of that. Everyday is by all means the same, but it’s also an opportunity for them to change their faith, living everyday in the miserable world they were imprisoned in. They’ve truly become normal humans stuck living out their lives as best they can without the power they once possessed.
Basically, in the last song, the girl is a camp counselor for a camp called "everfree" a rich guy wants the camp and the girl is trying to keep it cause it's been in her family for years. so she finds these magic stones and uses them to get powers and seal off the camp from the outside world but she doesn't see that the power has corrupted her (the guy who had the axe is her brother and so she doesn't want to harm him she isn't violent, just desperate)
Umm... You seem to not have got the story of that movie. He does not want the land he already owns it. They are essentially renting from him and are behind on their payment. Unlike someone thats actually evil he does give them a month to get back on track instead of just taking it as he is seemigly legaly allowed to do. I assume the contract between the familes have no end date so its just as long as they keep paying.
@TrixyTrixter I don't think they were renting. The film isn't entirely clear, but the dialogue made it seem like they had a loan taken out against the land and hadn't kept up repayments. Defaulting on the loan would have given Filthy Rich the ability to repossess the camp which is why he says "I own the land now". There'd be no reason to say "now" if he was their landlord, but it makes perfect sense if he had given them a mortgage which they had fallen behind on.

Tricks Up My Sleeve is actually a song that wasn't fully heard in the movie it was featured in, hence to why a few random Trixie clips were used Also, the CD the whole song was first officially released on didn't have some of the audio samples heard in the music video uploaded by the official MLP account
Indeed; it could be heard vaguely in the background, but most of that scene followed our main characters, who were trapped under the stage, so it was extremely muffled and faint. Which just goes to show you: even the songs that are *supposed* to be background noise are great!
The best way I can explain Equestria Girls is that it's a mirror dimension from the Pony world of mlp. In the first movie, Twilight has to go through a mirror to get to this dimension and it causes both her and Spike to turn into that world's version of themselves; Twilight being a human student and Spike into a dog. The reason why Twilight looked so awkward in some scenes, the scene with the vending machine for example, is because she doesn't know how certain things in this world work and ends up falling back to how ponies in Equestria would handle the obstacle As for the Everfree song, the lady is a camp counselor who wants to protect the forest from a tycoon who wants to build a spa retreat by trapping the campers inside the camp against their will and even leaves 2 of the main characters for dead when she's discovered. The guy with the axe is her younger brother who's trying to make a safe way out for the campers to escape (ps, he's the love intrest for the Twilight from that world)
There's also infinite alternate dimensions, the weirdest one being the briefly mentioned dimension of dinosaurs with cutie marks. the wizard who discovered it destroyed the portal out of fear
The last song from The Dazzlings isn't from Rainbow Rocks. It's after the 4th movie and as you saw in Welcome to the Show, they have been defeated by destroying their necklaces. So now, they don't have powers anymore. They carried on by being singers without their powers and this is a song about their new life. That's the reason why they don't have this evil sound anymore. Starting with the Everfree movie, each of the human main characters had a different super power. Applejack = super strengh, Rainbow Dash = super speed, Fluttershy = talking to animals, Rarity = crystal shields, Pinkie Pie = explosive desserts, SciTwi = telekenesis, Sunset = touch-based telepathy. That last one's usually seeing memories, but she used it on Pinkie once and that was basically an acid trip, but in a good way

So the story behind Stand For Everfree is that Gloriosa has defaulted on the mortgage taken out against her family's camp and it's on the verge of being repossessed and demolished, so rather than letting that happen she's decided to cut it off from the outside world, trapping the final group of campers with her permanently, but at this point she's too far gone to realise that would be a bad thing.
Finally some Legend of Everfree music! There's still a few from that film that are worth listening to. My biggest remaining recommendation from EQG is the duet between Sunset and Twilight that was scrapped from the final cut of Friendship Games - "What More is Out There" (the only videos of it are animatics). If you look for it, the song itself was kept in the film, so you're specifically looking for the duet version.
2:56 I'd say it's more that Daniel Ingram puts a lot of focus on harmonies. In a recent episode of Strawberry Shortcake called Find Your Voice, they play two songs at the same time and harmonize between them, with a total of 9 characters all singing different melodic lines. And he did this for a 4-minute UA-cam short, the absolute madlad. To think he makes 100-150 songs per year and this is the level of quality he delivers, it's just mind blowing.
The Dazzlings may have some of if not THE best songs in the EQG franchise, but the other characters have sang songs that are absolute bangers as well. also just so you know Mathew the reason why "A Friend For Life" is a music video is because it's actually the end credit song for the first Equestria Girls movie.
When you see twilight and she isn’t wearing glasses, she’s a pony coming to the human world, and she has no idea how it works in the first movie And most these music videos are basically clip-shows
All the other Dazzlings songs were from their debut movie, where they were evil sirens who tried to make people fight each other to enslave them. However, our protagonists defeated them in the end and broke their magic, so the Dazzlings had to find a new meaning for their life. So basically they underwent some sort of a redemption.
These always make me so happy! Legend of Everfree Main Title, Right There In Front of Me (full version uploaded by Letupita), and Shine Like Rainbows are all super awesome as well. Also ACADECA has clever lyrics.
I definitely recommend listening to "Midnight in Me", "What More is Out There" (the Sunset and Twilight duet version that was illegally cut, how dare) and "Invisible"!

It makes me so happy that you make these videos and aren’t judgmental except for in a musical sense which is what I’m here for anyway! Stand For Everfree is one of my favorite songs in the entire series partially because of how nuanced the context is. Shit just getting completely out of hand when you're trying to do the right thing has a lot more depth to it than "Hehee, I just love being evil", much as I enjoy that kinda songs too.
There is an animatic version of the find the magic song with a slightly different version which is also fun to listen to, it has a slightly less kids show vibe which is interesting, and animatics are always fun too😊
!!!SPOILERS!!! The everfree forest was under the threat of loosing their land because its gonna be bought by someone rich, gloriosa the girl that was covered in plant found these gems which gave her power and finally transforming her into mother nature and since she knew that the land of the forest is gonna be bought, she decided to cover their camp with plants so they could be protected but the others disagree to her "protecting them" since they couldn't get out of the camp so they tried every single way to get out.
I think Find The Magic has to be my favourite Dazzlings song! For some reason The Dazzlings also remind me of Amity Blight in season 1A or Bosha from The Owl House

someone's probably said already but the premise of equestria girls is that its an alternate universe. twilight (from the pony universe) finds a portal to the human(????) universe and is turned human(??) when she goes through it and cant go back home so she has to adjust to human life for a while till she can work out a way home (which is why she was trying to kick that vending machine). by the end of the first movie she can go home and manages to find a way so she can go between the worlds whenever she wants (from what i remember). in a later movie we meet the human realm's twilight and eventually she becomes the main twilight for the rest of the movies.
The story of the first Equestria Girls movie is that Twillight from Equestria follows her stolen crown to the Human-World, which means that she doesn't know how something like a wending machine works.
"A friend for life" fades in because it's originally a after-movie titles song, and they didn't feel like searching for original recording for a music video

That footage of Twilight and Trixie at the vending machine is from when Twilight didn't know how the human world worked. The girls gain superpowers in the 4th film. Gloriosa Daisy, the tree villain, is the caretaker of a camp that's about to be bought out by a rich guy and turned into a hotel and spa. That follow-up from the Dazzlings is about learning to live without their magic, and finding "magic" in their day-to-day instead.
Find the Magic literally meaning “We are from another universe, we used to be so powerful but now we’re trapped here, our magic stripped away from us. So the story behind Stand For Everfree is that Gloriosa has defaulted on the mortgage taken out against her family's camp and it's on the verge of being repossessed and demolished, so rather than letting that happen she's decided to cut it off from the outside world, trapping the final group of campers with her permanently, but at this point she's too far gone to realise that would be a bad thing.

Finally some Legend of Everfree music! There's still a few from that film that are worth listening to.
My biggest remaining recommendation from EQG is the duet between Sunset and Twilight that was scrapped from the final cut of Friendship Games - "What More is Out There" (the only videos of it are animatics). If you look for it, the song itself was kept in the film, so you're specifically looking for the duet version.
God I love that one, I still remember finding that scrapped version. It's just. So good-
2:56 I'd say it's more that Daniel Ingram puts a lot of focus on harmonies. In a recent episode of Strawberry Shortcake called Find Your Voice, they play two songs at the same time and harmonize between them, with a total of 9 characters all singing different melodic lines. And he did this for a 4-minute UA-cam short, the absolute madlad. To think he makes 100-150 songs per year and this is the level of quality he delivers, it's just mind blowing.

The Dazzlings may have some of if not THE best songs in the EQG franchise, but the other characters have sang songs that are absolute bangers as well. also just so you know Mathew the reason why "A Friend For Life" is a music video is because it's actually the end credit song for the first Equestria Girls movie.

All the other Dazzlings songs were from their debut movie, where they were evil sirens who tried to make people fight each other to enslave them. However, our protagonists defeated them in the end and broke their magic, so the Dazzlings had to find a new meaning for their life. So basically they underwent some sort of a redemption.

Sooo shocked people haven’t recommended Shine Like Rainbows, The Friendship Games, or Let The Rainbow more!! They are some of my favorites and I would love to see you listen to them. It makes me so happy that you make these videos and aren’t judgmental except for in a musical sense which is what I’m here for anyway! This series was so important to little girl me growing up and my love for it has stuck with me all these years and the care put into the music is one of the standout reasons why :)

Stand For Everfree is one of my favorite songs in the entire series partially because of how nuanced the context is. Shit just getting completely out of hand when you're trying to do the right thing has a lot more depth to it than "Hehee, I just love being evil", much as I enjoy that kinda songs too.
There is an animatic version of the find the magic song with a slightly different version which is also fun to listen to, it has a slightly less kids show vibe which is interesting, and animatics are always fun too😊

!!!SPOILERS!!! The everfree forest was under the threat of loosing their land because its gonna be bought by someone rich, gloriosa the girl that was covered in plant found these gems which gave her power and finally transforming her into mother nature and since she knew that the land of the forest is gonna be bought, she decided to cover their camp with plants so they could be protected but the others disagree to her "protecting them" since they couldn't get out of the camp so they tried every single way to get out.
I think Find The Magic has to be my favourite Dazzlings song! For some reason The Dazzlings also remind me of Amity Blight in season 1A or Bosha from The Owl House

5:02 that is twilight from the pony world and that is during the first EG movie where pony twi doesn't understand human world tech yet, that is why she is kicking it and surprised.
someone's probably said already but the premise of equestria girls is that its an alternate universe. twilight (from the pony universe) finds a portal to the human(????) universe and is turned human(??) when she goes through it and cant go back home so she has to adjust to human life for a while till she can work out a way home (which is why she was trying to kick that vending machine). by the end of the first movie she can go home and manages to find a way so she can go between the worlds whenever she wants (from what i remember). in a later movie we meet the human realm's twilight and eventually she becomes the main twilight for the rest of the movies.

And backstory for everfree is that that girl (i forgot her name) was a camp leader and the camp was going to be destroyed so she was trapping all the campers in ever free so they wont tear it down and didnt kill that guy because thats her brother
That footage of Twilight and Trixie at the vending machine is from when Twilight didn't know how the human world worked. The girls gain superpowers in the 4th film. Gloriosa Daisy, the tree villain, is the caretaker of a camp that's about to be bought out by a rich guy and turned into a hotel and spa. That follow-up from the Dazzlings is about learning to live without their magic, and finding "magic" in their day-to-day instead.
