It amazes me how Associated took the OLD 6 Gear RC10 Gold Pan Transmission, and successfully converted it into a under/overdrive Crawler Transmission!! 😲😲😎 I had to watch this 3 times.... But I can now figure out how to build mine when it gets here. You replaced the Gears going to the REAR Driveshaft.... So in essence, you're NOT overdriving the Front - but actually UNDERdriving the Rear!!! 😲 Same effect. Mind slightly blown. I'm getting excited to start wrenching on mine! Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Yup, they call it overdrive, but it really is an "underdrive" mod. I prefer it being underdrive anyway, because it won't speed the rig up. I guess "underdrive" doesn't really sound that enticing from a marketing standpoint! LOL.
Great job being clear and very imformative and straight forward im about to do this for my first time and watcing your video gives me great confidence. Thanks!
I tried but my front wheels were very choppy and rough so I'm putting stock back. Never mind it was my driveshafts not being in phase, thanks to your video I got it running smoothly.
Hi I've followed this video and carried out the gear change. But can't understand why the rear gears are changed, since I've watched another video and they change the front set not the rear set like you have. 🤔
What Element actually has is technically "Underdrive". They put more teeth on the rear set to make it spin slower rather than putting gears with less teeth in the front set to make the front spin faster. The only reason I can possibly think of changing the front set is if they're using aftermarket gears rather than the ones provided by Element. It's possible that some of the aftermarket companies may change either or the front or rear.
Yup, that's correct. In reality it's an underdrive setup, but I guess it's not as "marketable" as "overdrive". All semantics aside though, it does what it's supposed to do and works very well.
I have heard the front universal axles are compatible, but have not tested myself yet. I'm not sure about the rear, but I will revisit this topic when I get my Enduro Kit version.
Just to clarify.... changing the gears from 27/53 to 26/54.... you are changing the rear gear set so, you are slowing down the rear drive so that the front is faster RPM. What you just did is called Underdrive, not Overdrive. Pretty Much. So why do they call it Overdrive.

Make a good point!! 😉

Awesome! Glad to hear that. Have fun wrenching! ✌️
Another great video! I plan on swapping out the gears in mine this weekend! Looking forward to seeing the next video!
Thanks man! Looking forward to the progress on yours at RCCrawlers.com

Right on! I'm glad you got it all worked out! Have fun with the rig! 👍
Gotta do this swap on my Knightrunner soon. Great install video!

Thanks! It's a great truck, and I just want people not to be frustrated with working on it.
Great job!!! I'm interested to know if it makes a noticeable difference!!
Hopefully I can answer that soon!
Excellent demo.👍🏼 what tips you using in the your driver?

Hello, is there a reason that you use caliper grease? Can I use regular automotive wheel bearing grease?
Sure, use what works for you.
Yes, should be fine!
Very helpfull!
Thanks! That's what I go for with these vids. Just want to help people enjoy the hobby!
So it seems it is in fact UNDERDRIVING the rear instead of overdriving the front isn’ it?

@@RevolutionX thanks for confirming. I am building a comp truck with the stealth X so I will add overdrive to benefit above 12%.
do you know if the enduro axles has 100% compatible with axial scx10 ii parts ?
I have heard the front universal axles are compatible, but have not tested myself yet. I'm not sure about the rear, but I will revisit this topic when I get my Enduro Kit version.
I swapped my axles with scx10 ar44 and it fits.
Does these affect your overall top speed and wheel spin?
It didn't really affect to speed to much at all. You'll notice a better turning radius though.
