Nick so reminds me of my husband. He loves to fix things. He just replaced our sink garbage disposal. On his back under the sink for 2 hours. 74 years old. Happy New Year to my favorite peeps!!❤❤
I wish my husband would fix things. Its usually me that does the d.i.y. He put a screw back in the kitchen drawer runner yesterday. 1st time he's had the tool box out In a good 10 years. I told my son to take a photo as that rare phenomenon may never be seen again😂
I follow your vlog from Saskatchewan Canada and I enjoyed seeing your resourcefulness during the storm. Thanks for sharing your part of the world 💖 Happy New Year!
We used a similar window covering from Amazon in May. It has held up thus far! We got a design pattern that has a prism effect creating rainbow colors in the room at certain times and hides the edges really well. We are in Orlando so I can't speak to how cold weather could affect the adhesion.
As for the storm, it was a bad one. I always feel for the guys n girls working out there in those horrid often dangerous conditions. Having worked in that industry for 37 years I can honesty say they are heros. Its a tough task. Thankfully you werent off supply too long xxx
We lost power during storm Darragh too! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas 🎄 looking forward to following along with you on your new year adventures 😆 xx
I use a candle snuffer to put my candles out. I never blow them out because of the soot. I hope you both had a Merry Christmas! Much love from Florida 😊
Great vlog guys.i like the way you made frosty windows look really nice . Your mum and dad are lovely and beautiful hamper that your mum made . Thanks for sharing your day looking forward to seeing next one have a lovely evening 👍
Our power went out Sunday morning 530am came back in Wednesday evening 5pm. Based in south west rural wales. Fortunately we have a generator for the essentials. Worst thing was no wifi
What a horrible storm, but you both dealt with it so well & were very resourceful. I'm so proud of you both😊 We've had the opposite prob in Vic Oz. Bushfire has burnt 75,000 hectares, many towns were evacuated. Fortunately weather conditions have changed, but it's predicted to keep burning for many weeks. Big heaps of love to you both ❤️
You guys have to go to la rapita and see all the flamingos and birds!when you go to Spain It’s a beautiful little place! Hope you both have an amazing new year! Another fantastic video!
OMG Nick and Leigh the vlog with the Meta quest 3 we watched and my husband ended up buying one for Christmas , best buy ever it’s amazing we love it and yes it does make you feel abit sick but it’s best buy ever and it’s like been on a rollercoaster without even having to go to a theme park. Love your vlogs and so lucky to have met you both. Xx
We landed back in the UK in to Manchester airport at the start of the storm and it was horrific. The turbulence was awful too. Driving over the M62 to Yorkshire was dreadful and took us 4.5 hours. We stayed 10 days and it never stopped raining and the wind was dreadful. We were glad to be back in the sunshine. Looking forward to the next se of vlogs in Taylor.
Thats a really bad storm you seem to have had down in east Yorkshire all the power off it even blew your dad's moustache off😂great vlogmas videos guys really very christmassy Jim from Edinburgh
Oh that storm was crazy for yois ours was bad but think yous got it worse especially loosing power for so long 😮 lucky no serious damage done, ham baps looked delish 😋 yous pronounce whelk like its supposed to sound but in northern ireland we call them willicks lol yes we are weird over here 😂😂 xx
I flew back in this storm from Gran Canaria, scariest landing ever! Luckily landed back where intended at 1am on the 8th December, but was an experience for sure!
Being without power is certainly one of the most frustrating (but not devastating) experiences a homeowner can go through, especially when it’s either hot out or cold out. It sounds like you didn’t lose any of the food in your refrigerator/freezer, which is always the thing I’m concerned about.
Great vlog again you are always busy like the glaze you have put on the windows the hamper that Leigh mum did you looked lovely carnt wait till u go on the road trip
I guess this is the same weekend we had problems, we live in a mobile home surrounded by woods and we had no power, so no water, no mobile phone signal etc etc from 5pm on the Saturday until 9.30pm on the Sunday, it was such fun!!!!!!!!
We had hurricane Fiona 2 years ago here in Nova Scotia I was without power for 4 days , some people didn’t get it back for 7/days hope that never happens again
We can feel the pain. Our house is completely electric, with no gas, so power cuts are a nightmare here! A couple of years ago, we had no electricity for over 5 days. Luckily, we have 3 log burners throughout the house and are experts now at cooking on top of a log burner 😂❤
We live All Elec, and it went off. Could't cook, no heating nothing. So jumped in car and went to a cafe where there was Elec. And Starmer want's us every one of us to go Elec including the car. God help us.
Don't mention bad weather. It's been raining all week with a few thunderstorms that knocked our power out wice here and this weekend we're looking at severe weather. Hasn't dampened my Christmas/New Years spirit though. Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas and here's wishing y'all a very prosperous New Year.
You do so much in your vlogs don't know where you get your energy. I slept most of boxing Day I think you get so stressed about Christmas Day and this one was the most stress free ive had in years but your body goes into recovery mode
If you don’t have water or shower facilities why don’t you go to your other home, I don’t understand why we haven’t seen your other home (apartment) for a while now??
What a lovely hamper your mum gave you, love seeing your parents joining you and the way you look after them is beautiful ❤
Nick so reminds me of my husband. He loves to fix things. He just replaced our sink garbage disposal. On his back under the sink for 2 hours. 74 years old.

Me & my dad used to call that floppy toast when camping. I still make it from time to time now
😂
Literally laughed so hard at the scene looking at frosted window from outside the lodge 😂😂😂🍑🍑
Hehe
Youre so adventurous with cooking. Some fab tips in there. Cheers guys. X
Thanks so much! 😊
Hilarious vlog you do make me laugh the bum on the window 😂😂😂😂😂 and tucking into the dinner 😋

Your parents are so sweet. You are lucky to be able to spend quality time with them. Thanks for sharing your lives with us. Very enjoyable.
They are! XX

Hopefully it lasts as its doing it job perfectly for us 👍❤️
As for the storm, it was a bad one.

I laughed so hard when Nick stuck his butt against the window😂😂
xx
Just as well you don't talk through what you sit on...lol😊
I use a candle snuffer to put my candles out. I never blow them out because of the soot. I hope you both had a Merry Christmas! Much love from Florida 😊

Always so nice to see Family.

Thank goodness you have a generator
Reminds me of the 70s when we had power cuts & we use candles around the house, go to toilet with a candle on a small template to go for a wee 🤣🤣🤣
Another lovely vlog, no power due to the storm but you still make your home so cosy 🥰🥰
of course it was exciting
It’s so weird when your comment gets read out. 🤭I am still laughing at Leigh saying that snail tasted like eating a hot water bottle.
Hehe

You should get a griddle pan so you can have a flat surface to make toast…or pancakes!!
Hiya hope youve both had a fab Christmas happy new year to you both 🎉😊 can I just ask what you use to bleach your teeth is it from Florida 😊
Nice One Guys .Happy New Year Guys .I,ll Be Out Having a Beer For My Birthday.
OMG Leigh you look so much like your dad with his tache saved off , plus it makes him look younger when he don't have a mustache on 😮
You guys have to go to la rapita and see all the flamingos and birds!when you go to Spain It’s a beautiful little place! Hope you both have an amazing new year! Another fantastic video!

Parents are looking really well 🥰🎄
Love seeing your mum and dad missing your sister and girls for your festivities ❤xx
Leighs dad looks total different without his moustache, very handsome just like Leigh.
We landed back in the UK in to Manchester airport at the start of the storm and it was horrific. The turbulence was awful too. Driving over the M62 to Yorkshire was dreadful and took us 4.5 hours. You may not have had power but the moon was bright during the day!!!😂

Do you guys still have the apartment, as you haven’t mentioned it or seen any vlogs there in months?
What a lovely hamper❤
was delicious
Great job with the windows nick those things are brutal to get on but I'm sure at the end there was a little crack in it. 😁
pleased with the results
Looking forwards to the road trip now!
us too xx
I flew back in this storm from Gran Canaria, scariest landing ever! Luckily landed back where intended at 1am on the 8th December, but was an experience for sure!
Did you use fire resistant Foam around the electrical box?
yes but it's not actually our electric box it's empty our feed comes in other side of the lodge :)
We are heading over to Spain via ferry on the 23 Jan. Are you going to Port Aventura in Salou? I prefer it to Disney Paris!
Being without power is certainly one of the most frustrating (but not devastating) experiences a homeowner can go through, especially when it’s either hot out or cold out. It sounds like you didn’t lose any of the food in your refrigerator/freezer, which is always the thing I’m concerned about.
Ha ha Nick with his crack a lac out.
Great vlog again you are always busy like the glaze you have put on the windows the hamper that Leigh mum did you looked lovely carnt wait till u go on the road trip
Thanks so much 😊
Lucky you got gas & it's not all electric as you wouldn't be having beans on toast , it be a trip to mcdonalds ,🤣🤣🤣
Please go to Tarrgona on your trip. Ihave not been there in years.Would love to see it again! Love from Mount Dora FL.
thanks for the tip
Great vlog. Loved you reading my comment out. 😊 x

Hi just wondered what light you got from Yorkshire Trading as we had a power cut on Christmas Day and need to invest in a decent light.
it was 2.99 I think
My husband has a thermal imaging camera that attaches to his phone and he uses that to find draughts in our home. Nick needs one of those.
ohhh I do what's the link ?
I guess this is the same weekend we had problems, we live in a mobile home surrounded by woods and we had no power, so no water, no mobile phone signal etc etc from 5pm on the Saturday until 9.30pm on the Sunday, it was such fun!!!!!!!!
exactly this it was exciting and cosy
Is girl's coming Christmas eve xx hope you all well ❤ x

would love a log burner and roughing it
@ it is amazing how quickly you learn to cook by fire 🔥
😂🤣 about Nick mooning! Happy Christmas time, guys! 🎄
needed to test it

we like to keep busy
I saw a Bad Moon A rising
Why did you not live in your van as you had internet and heating. Also cooking /kettle etc???
no internet in the van at present and very little gas
Merry Christmas logdies 😂😂amazing videos for vlogmas thank you so much for your fun memories xx
thanks
💜💜
Why didn't you head home to the apartment overnight til the power came back on
we expected power to be out for a few hours not an entire day, had we gone home it would have come back sooner I'm sure :)
❤❤❤
Nick is the type of guy who could survive in a jungle, he's very resourceful and is good at fixing stuff, he reminds me of Bear Grylls
What’s happening with your flat now , you haven’t been there for so long,
not much we have been a few times after Florida, it's too cold this time of year
U have a beautiful flat just sitting there yet u choose to suffer. 😂
and takes 2 days to heat it up
@TheLodgeGuys Forgot about the bad heating in there.
it's not bad just slow
Why would you live in a lodge with no power or heating when you have a van or even your apartment
because it takes 2 days to heat up apartment van isn't something we would want to live in, it's great for trips but not to live in
@TheLodgeGuys i meant to say stay in the van over night 😂 not live in bur thanks for clarifying
Don’t blow your candles out, just put the lid back on & it’ll snuff out on its own 😊 saves blowing soot off the wick onto your rug 😁
Why didn't you go to your beautiful apartment for a few days xx
takes 2 days to warm it up
Ferry to Santander. Simples.
Has nick had a shave further in the future vlogs..... i hope so🙏
nope beard is still about
Great, we luv the beard @@TheLodgeGuys
Go to a hotel? Go to Lee’s parents or sister?
we could have gone home but takes 2 days to warm it up so pointless
Am I being stupid or could you not have lived in van and used the power from that and use starlink for Internet?
We could have but we knew it was back on in The evening so couldn't be bothered setting it all up for the day 😂👍
@TheLodgeGuys ahh, didn't realise you knew the power was coming back that soon. I must of missed it if you said that. Sorry 😊
If you don’t have water or shower facilities why don’t you go to your other home, I don’t understand why we haven’t seen your other home (apartment) for a while now??
takes 2 days to heat it from 8c to 23c :)
