I like to think Dwight and Erin sent the cameraman ahead of them to prank Jim; that’s why Dwight announced himself with a full ice bucket. The cameraman then caught Jim in the middle of the setup and then comedy gold.

Nah, season 8 is just the worst season of a classic show. The writers were adrift without Micheal anchoring the entire thing. They tried so much stuff, introduced too many new characters and some of them never worked properly and/or were never embraced by the fans because, well... They sucked. It was wise of them to end the show with season 9. Let's face it - watching a great show decline in quality, limping on lamely for years after it's prime is sad. It can eventually kill our love for the show as there starts to be more bad years than good; think of the Simpsons here - that poor show is a shadow of it's once great and revolutionary self. It's painfully bad now and we've all seen the best years in repeats entirely too much now. The thing about season 8 (and partially 9) of the office is that...welp, a bad season of the Office is still better than a good season of a thousand other forgettable shows, like 'Modern Family' and other such bland, generic, terrible laugh track infused nonsense.
