Hey Ryan, I started watching your videos and it taught me so much. I just wanted to share; I got my first nuke... it only took 3min 25sec... and it was the last game I needed to unlock the Leo 2a5, my first top tier tank in War Thunder. The stars had aligned or something lol
I feel your pain man, I've been playing top tier britain and germany this week and it's a massive struggle. Just wave after wave of bvms, ka52s and mig 27s meanwhile 2/3 of my team are gone in the first few minutes more often than not without killing anything.
@Another Alpharius might need a longer reload if it gets a more potent round? Granted I'm not too familiar with top tier vehicles yet. Maybe 2 second reload with good firepower is normal at top tier?
@@bretts3057it's already over BR'd as hell. The 2S38 is eons better than the HSTVL even if the HSTVL had its gun penetration corrected. It would not need to be changed or moved if it was corrected (honestly it would still need to be moved down to a more appropriate BR)
@@fire_drake12.arc.24 XM885/Delta-3 should have at least 380mm of armor penetration - Delta-6 should have roughly 430mm with proxy shells (XM884), IRST, and a middle-ground reload time (1.0 sec) it would easily deserve its current BR
would also enjoy it more if they gave it its real pen, the dart in game in real life had more pen the M774 which in game has roughly 100mm more pen than HSTVL, and there was even a better dart for it in addition to a proximity fuse HE

Best War Thunder gameplay I've seen in months. I may be at 5.3 as a somewhat free to play gamer but by the skies I would pay real money to vibe at top. Excellent gameplay, really hoping to see more in the future
I can already hear spookston lol, on the note of light vehicles can you please play lekpz m41? Its heat ammo feels very good to use and its reverse speed is comfortable to get out of uncomfy situations.
@@E_Bro i do agree with you about not getting stuck on trees but the way i play the m41 doesn't put me into much of a problem with obstacles around the maps so the angle performance and high tnt filling of the heat shell is what i go for

I personally didn't learn from watching replay channels. Mainly because I find them boring overall. I definitely learned from watching other commentary channels like Phly, Odd, Justin etc. Learning where you want to go on the maps is just a time sink really, you have to experiment constantly. Also if you die from a crazy spot and you want to know about it, use the replay or a custom battle and check it out. Take careful note of where high performing players in your matches go
Ahhh.....so only massive think that makes it bad is the Gaijin making any APFSDS 75mm and under pretty much doings 0 damage. So if Gaijin would make them work, it would be amazing
2:36 the real problem is that many NATO players bring 1 or 2 tanks in game and a lot of time they don’t know how to play. They die in the first 3 minutes and leave. I have seen people with the M1A2 Sep die instantly and quit without spawning again. No one spawns SPAAs and yet complain about Helis/planes without doing anything to counter them. It’s really easy to win a game after the enemy team rushes your spawn because thanks to the Spawn protection you can kill all the enemies and many of them won’t get any kills. I’ve turned entire matches like that with an average team
Agree with USA teammates just crumbling when they see an T-series tanks if Russian isn't on my team which it usually isn't I just lose. And the Pantsir is way to OP 1 Pantsir can clobber anything in the sky and the KA-52 is is impossible to deal with because of the range.

The main difference is speed. The 2s38 has a speed like the T-72B, while the HSTVL is faster than the T-80BVM. And 2s38 is definitely not more survivable than hstvl. If we are talking about AA capabilities, the US has had the M247 for 4 years, which is no worse and sits at 9.0 (it was 8.0 earlier against the Il-28, lol).
nah the 2s38 isnt that survivable anymore cause the ammo is a more reasonable size and its he-vt can be inconstant, the br difference does make sense, gaijin knows how the hstvl should be and they balance it like that cause if it was accurate it would be leagues better than the 2s38
I got lucky and had the two nuke drop games from this video almost back to back. Then I played like 50 more games trying to get another I was happy with but ended up going with just 2 others for the video (the intro and last game). It varies though.
I just can't do well in little gremlin tanks like this. If I play defensively, I can't get anything, for obvious reasons. If I rush or flank, I'm immediately and perfectly countered, as if they knew precisely what I was doing at all times. Part of my perpetual bad luck in War Thunder, it simply doesn't allow me to have fun.

Everytime I want to blame my bad time on NATO side on T-80 Bias, I go play T-80s and... it's not that. But somehow it does not seem to be just "I suck" issue. Not really sure but sometimes it is proper frustrating. How is everyone's "objective" team experience NATO vs USSR?
NATO tanks by doctrine are easier to play & Russian win rates in top tier are truly only held up because of ERA + Pantsir Air supremacy. Russian tanks are mostly garbage and not user friendly.

oh if only small caliber APFSDS cores were modelled correctly. for example the HSTV-L's APFSDS is just a 105 APFSDS with a smaller casing.
and approximately the same pen as m774 instead of the about 100mm less it is in game

Its APDS feels so much better imo, also does not get stuck on trees and stuff
