AquaH - what a brilliant show. Team Prestige Reef smashed it 🙌. This hobby knows how to test us all. Really enjoying watching the content on your channel 👍.
Holy… this is why I’m too nervous to go SPS. I can’t dedicate this much of my life into it and too lazy. It’s definitely something for those who have the heart, dedication and sacrifice to do it. I wouldn’t be able to handle having a tank full of sps and then to have them gone in a day, that’s a move that will make me give up the entire hobby and I love it too much to have it that way. Sorry to hear this happened, I’m glad reefers like you document so everyone can learn
The last time this happened to me I was at O Nitrate and 0 Phosphate. Dong Zoe recommended vitamin C to help the Acros hold on to their skin. I don't know if that is snake oil but adding a very small pinch of vitamin C powder is easy and I haven't seen any tissue loss in the last four months. Cheers, Chris
Angel ate them all. Once they develop the taste they will go to town and wipe out a small colony over a very short time. It happened to me and countless others. I don’t think this angel you got, which is very rare, is categorized as reef safe.
Doesn’t seem right that all would be attacked and so quickly. If a hungry angelfish wants sustenance it would go for a trachyphillia over an acro anyway. What we do know is that for a day there was 0 N/P reading, no fish waste and (thanks to the UV) not enough bacteria in the water column to feed coral. No Nutrition to feed the faster metabolism of sps, LPS have more reserves and slower metabolism hence their survival.
I wander if the nutrient drop - in combination with the UV killing the bacteria (food) in the water column - caused a starvation event. LPS have more flesh on their skeleton for reserves so higher tolerances. Basically a triple combination: - zero N/P - not enough fish waste - not enough bacteria to catch and eat Not enough to feed their fast metabolism in my opinion. We all make these mistakes mate keep your head up.
We have all been there. My recommendation to you is keep all above 8.5 to be safe and dirty water isn't as bad as you think. Higher Po4 and No3 keeps bacteria from feeding on your corals. RTN will hit you fast and hard.
If they were all fine the day before and then all did it at the same time that must be an event on the day. If it was nutrients they would do it over a couple of days or weeks not at the same time
Just a heads up but you absolutely can use prazipro and copper at the same time. The reason it was advised not to do so was some prazi based products had a reducing agent in them which made copper meds toxic. This is not the case with prazipro or the API products (general cure it's call I think)
Totally appreciate your honesty and sharing the experience with us. Much prefer it for how it really is in the hobby.
Mate I feel for you. Been there don't want to go back to it. The only thing to say is to find the reason as best you can and learn from it.

Corals are always a risk, but having Corals and Angelfishes? Now that's a challenge
What a handsome man..
(To clarify, I mean the dog ☺️)

Nice, you got a save on the acros 👍🏻👍🏻
Please keep us updated on the quarantining of your new fish. How many liters is your quarantine tank?

Angel ate a sps but not a lps nah nah nah that's strange things, outside things like chemicals

@insanity4224 sounds about right on the money to me ! I always have kept a dirty tank myself lol

I swear some tanks are cursed…I had one which crashed 3 times despite good management…I sold the damn thing, all good now…🎉

I use Copper Power and PraziPro at the same time. Never had a problem, but Copper Power is mild to fish.
what if the fish started eating the coral in absence of food ?
I doubt fish nipping would completely slough off all the tissue on every acro. For sure bacterial in my opinion
Why dont you dose nitrate and phosphate on a doser for the time being. That way if you miss a days worth of dosing it wont matter too much.
Aren’t you worried about the flame angel and the corals?
Flame angels have a lower rate of going after your corals. I have 2 flames with corals and have been model citizens.
Nutrients bottoming out like you say
Ph ??
just donate your tank to me . I always want waterbox
