How do you get value 64.21 in step 5? You said you get it by subtracting 235.79 from CG of I-section but it is not 300 you got it as 364.21. The ans should be 128.42 right??
Sir h1 is the centroidal distance. But considered it as difference between CG of I section and NA depth. I.e. h=364.21-300 = 64.21mm. Can u please clarify it sir

in step 2
you wrote self wt. of rail section = 0.300 kn/m. (please clarify why you did this)
In Breaking force
you took static wheel load = 160.40 but i think it should be taken 200.50 as we use factored load

Thank you sir. Your explanation is very good and helpful. But as gantry girder is a laterally unsupported beam, so the formula for moment capacity shouldn't be the one you have used. There's one another formula for calculation of moment capacity in IS 800. Isn't it?
Look, there are two conditions given in IS:800, 1st is on page 53 (that we have used) says that, if design s.f. is less than 0.6xVd, then Md shall be used according cl.8.2.1.2.
Now the condition which you are talking about is on page 69 & 70, which says that if there is high value of s.f. which exceeds 0.6xVd, then only we should have to considered Md as per cl.9.2.2.

If we are constrained to make section out of plates what will be the changes ?
In the question the self weight of rail section is given as 300kN but in step 2 you have taken 0.3kN/m how is it possible.

Hi Sir , In My Example all values are same but the span of gantry girder is 5m . Than for calculation B.M. in step (2) . Distance calculated as per concept is greater than 0.65L than what should i do ??

Step 5 bro....how you get h1 & h2 ....... in detail ( how you get 243.39 in h2 )
First of all you need to understand that what is h1 and h2, and for this, you should have to concentrate on figure shown in video. Now look, h1 is the height difference between the Neutral axis and C.G. of I-section. It means hght of N.A. from bottom is 364.21mm and C.G. of I-section from bottom will be at 300mm. Therefore, if we calculate the difference of hgt between NA and CG, it will be, 364.21 - 300 = 64.21mm. Ok.
Now about h2, as you can see in fig. it is the height from NA to to the bottom of flange of I-section or Cyy of channel section which given as Cyy = 23.6mm. And we have the hgt from NA to the top of channel sectiom which is 243.39. Now look , you asked that from where we bring 243.39 ? For that, its very simple, we have hgt of NA and we know that hgt of I-section is 600mm. Now when u deduct 364.21 from 600, u will get 235.79mm. Now we also know the thickness of web of channel section. Therefore, you just have to add ; 235.79 + 7.6 = 243.39mm. Got it...
And try to understand these all thing by following the figure. Ok

Wheel load 250 ko 1.5 se multiply karney ka tha...
In question the weight of rail section already given 300 KN then in solution it's equal to 0.3 KN/m and then summation equal to 1.9...????How??
Thats because the self weight of gantry has been assumed as 1.6 which was added with the weight of rail.
1.6+0.3=1.9KN/m.

in calculating wheel load for impact you increased actual value by 25% while in calculating surge load for impact you calculated 10% of actual value and not increasing it by 10%.....can you explain why ?
