Thanks for the great video much appreciated still trying to figure out how to get a actual weather forecast for specific area this app is all new to me can't wait to figure it out.
You won’t get a point forecast from any of the specialty radar viewers. RadarOmega has the most extensive features however. And you could in theory come up with your own forecast using the app.

As far as I can tell, there aren't buildings. As-in, 3D buildings like Apple Maps, for example.

Does Radar Omega have an option that will give you an arrow or something around your GPS location to show you what direction your looking on the map?
Yea. Go to Menu, Display Settings, Location Settings and and turn on Show Orientation. Make sure you have the little target thing turned on, on your phone that shows your current location. Also, make sure you have Location turned on on your phone. And that RadarOmega has permission to use it
Recently downloaded the app, so this was very helpful sir, thanks! I have a few questions though: how can I find the gate to gate shear in a storm? Also, is there an option for Super Res velocity?
I find gate-to-gate wind shear by finding the highest and lowest wind velocities within a velocity couplet. so, if the radar is sampling -40kts away and 50kts towards, then that would be 90 kts gate-to-gate.
Gates in radar terminology refer to the individual "pixels". I use quotes, because it isn't the same as the pixels on your monitor. It is simply the easiest way for me to explain it.
Super-Res Velocity can be found under the lower-right hand menu where it will usually say, "Hi-Res Reflectivity". If you click that, a pop-over menu will display, and you can then choose which product you want to view. Hi-Res Velocity is the fourth item down the list, under the heading, "Velocity Products".
I should probably add, you would need to use the velocity product to view gate-to-gate shear. I may make a future video about how to read velocity data. Please let me know if this is something that would be of interest. :)

I keep losing the upper 3 bars for the drop down menu. I tried everything to get it back. Only way is to close the app and reload. I have no idea what is causing this.

How do you use the search on ipad is it included in one of the subscriptions or what?
After I made this video, I looked at my ipad and iphone both, and realized the search is only available on the desktop version. This is something we will have to address with the folks at StormMapping/RadarOmega to see if they can add it to the Android and iOS versions.

do you know where i can find the predicted future radar? i can only find radar from the past and the current but not the future, and i usually use future radars for weather too. thanks in advance
This is available but you need the alpha subscription.

That is under Models. Usually we use HRRR. And then choose reflectivity.
I downloaded this but all it allows me to see is a tone of dots all over the map, states, and division lines. I don't see any rain, storms ,or weather of any kind but we have severe weather going on right now. Very disappointed how un-usefriendly this app is. Can you help me figure out what I need to do?
To remove the dots, tap the hamburger icon. The three lines. Scroll to Spotter Network and turn off the layer.
If you’re not seeing anything on radar, you have either chosen the wrong radar site, or you may also have unselected the radar site. If I could post a screenshot I’d show you what I mean.
Is it possible to have a full country radar view. I've only been able to select local areas.
RadarOmega has this ability. It may be available to all users. I do not know. But it is under Radar>MRMS. If you do not see it, then it requires a subscription.
How do you mkae your reflectivity look brighter? And im not talking about with the color tables. Like my reflectivity looks dull. Also my velocity.
Go to control panel > display settings > scroll to data opacity and make sure it is 100%.

Yes
i lost the actual radar cloud cover red/greens etc. on my app. All i can do is click on the dots but no cloud cover/storm patterns show up. I paid the 8.99. version. I cant find how to restore it. Any ideas?
Go to “Info & Support” click on “Support”
Then click “Reset all settings”.
This should put you back to default and allow you to start over.

The HRRR is available if you have the Alpha subscription.
INterestingly my radars are grey dots, without the acronyms on the map. Can't figure out how to put the acronyms on the map

Can't get tornado warning alert chime to work on iphone. It's setup correctly but won't chime. Anyone else with same issue?
How do I see the whole radar for the whole United states and not just one region?
You’ll have to use MRMS. If available. It’s under radar. If you don’t see it, you don’t have access to it.
For some reason, I don’t have the search bar on the top right. 😟
It is only available on Windows. I did not know this when I made this video.
Is 3D available in the basic $8.99 plans without a subscription ?
I don’t know, but if that’s the feature you are looking for, it’s not worth a subscription. The other features are, but 3D is more of a gimmick IMO. The only true 3D radar experience is from Gibson Ridge Analyst.

@@kriminalec_009 RadarOmega's Alpha subscription includes access to forecast computer models. This is covered in another video.
How do I read velocity to identify tornados ?
I can make a video about this. It can be a tricky thing to identify. There are a lot of factors that play into the radar, how far away the storm is from the radar site, range folding, etc. I may make a video using GRAnalyst to explain this.

I'm just trying to figure out how to get rid of all the green dots that completely cover my RO map, rendering it useless because I can't even see place names because of them. I still don't have an answer. So frustrated. I've had RO for almost a year and it's still totally useless to me.
Those are spotter network location beacons. Go to data overlay settings. Spotter network. (The binoculars) and turn off the spotter network layer.

I haven't seen a building view. But all versions, even without the subscription, have the different street maps. There are various themes for the maps, which we will cover in a future video.

you should be fine with just the app. It isn't going to tell you there is a tornado. Unless there is a warning of course.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works. You'll get a tornado warning displayed when NWS issues one. But, if you want to know if there is a tornado, you have to know how to read the velocity data and/or the correlation coefficient.
There is an algorithm that runs on the WSR-88D radars, that will show up as a tornado vortex signature icon. But it is notoriously unreliable. And I ignore it 100% of the time.
We may do a video in the future on how to read the radar.

If you use something like Pivotal Weather, I believe there is a snow forecast. I don't think RO has that available.

you can use this link, but, just remember this is a prediction by a computer. HRRR sometimes gets it right, sometimes it is completely wrong.

Can you see the Weather on Europa?
Germany has radar available on RadarOmega. But that is the only European country so far.

how do i unsubscribe and cancel radar omega?
Depends on whether you have iPhone or Android phone. In iPhone it has to be done under your subscriptions on the settings app.
@@ThunderChasers Thanks. I'm on iPhone. Under Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions I see my subscription to Data Level Beta but see no way to cancel it. Ive also looked under Settings > RadarOmega and Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay. I do not see a way to cancel.
tap where it says radaromega. cancel is at the botoom in red.
There is no Cancel on that page. Only text about when subscription expires and how much it is. I’d post a screen capture but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that. I’m starting to feel more stupid than usual.
