Massive thanks to you. After wasting several days and initially dismissing your solution as too simple to be true, today I returned to it and voila, it worked. You saved me an unnecessary spend on a new dishwasher and also from wasting a reasonable fine dishwasher.
Thank goodness for UA-cam and people that put these videos on. After months of having this problem on and off, for the last 24 hours this issue wouldn’t go at all. So after finding this video I ordered a £5 plunger on Amazon with next day delivery (thank you prime) and today I’ve got a working dishwasher again! Saved me a repair call or a new dishwasher (it is quite old and thought it might have given up) but now it’s working again for a grand total of £5 and a boiled kettle!
Buddy. Had my IDL40 for over TEN years now! Had this problem. I almost went and spent £££ on a new dishwasher. This has it working like new!!! THANKYOU :)
Might seem obvious to others but it just solved my issue. Had someone out recently who pulled out our dishwasher and when they put it back the clean water pipe got kinked and stopped drawing through water causing it to give lights 1 and 3 error. When I pulled the dishwasher out and no kinks ran fine so just taped pipe the wall to remove any risk of kinks and now runs perfectly.
That's the 2nd time I have come back to this video in order to fix my Indesit Dishwasher🤣 (Memory is on the blink obviously !) Worked like a charm both times. Kudos to you. No faff video, tells you how to diagnose & fix with the minimum of frills or fuss. 5*****
Thanks - I'm astonished how a spur of the moment thought to video something, before it was as common to video this kind of thing has had some much attention for so long.
Thank you very much! Had problems with my dishwasher for ages with the dish washer stopping midway through a wash and throwing up that error. Recently it wouldnt start washing at all. Couldn't find out much information online about that error code. Followed your video and it seems to have done the trick!
Brilliant! I had resigned myself to spending christmas having to wash dishes as the damn machine had packed up 6pm on friday 2 days before Christmas! Didn't have Soda crystals on hand but gave the old plunger trick a go and BAM! worked first time. Thanks for the tip. Will be popping out first thing to hunt down some soda crystals.
That's what I thought but got some anyway - it's 6 years old now and probably will benefit from having a dose of crystals and a full cycle once a month.
After follow the tip, dishwasher (although was switched off) start making a pump noise and the water was pushed down until disapeared. Now it seems sounds like at normal cicle👍👍👍
thank you for your help I didn`t have any soda crystals or a sink plunger so I poured vinegar in & left it overnight & that has done the trick thanks again
I had this issue, filter had minimal debris. I had to remove the right side panel to reveal the pressure switch. Remove the pressure switch and blow the pipe. For good measure I flushed water using a hose pipe back through the pipe and into the main wash chamber. It dislodged some build gunk build up which was hidden in the lip of the sump. Once removed I reconnected the pipe to the pressure switch and the machine runs perfectly. The sludge/gunk was blocking the pressure pipe opening in the sump, this meant that the pressure switch was unable to detect the pressure difference once the machine started filling causing the fault code. 10 min job max and saves £££££
Actually 99 times out of 100 this is just debris in the filters and basket. Wash out in clean water reinstall turn machine off for 1 minute then turn on again. Job done. Simple
Hello, were is the video you say here: "The other issue could be a faulty pressure switch. See the next video for that issue, but this video here is less invasive and virtually free to try first."
Thanks for this. We've tried a few things to fix a Currys Essentials CDW60W10 dishwasher - but using Wilko soda crystals and a fair bit of plunging seems to have fixed things. With the CDW6010 it was the 3rd "rinse" light flashing and beeping Thought it might be something more complicated with pipes or drains, but fingers crossed this is it :)
Thanks for the help! Those lights have been doing my head in. Also, on a funnier note, this kinda reminds me of one of those 'Howtobasic' videos when you plunging the machine and poking at that button haha! Cheers.
Hi, I have the same machine but in my case the lights that are flashing are 2 & 3, I have done what it says in the manual however it is still not working properly, do you know about this failure and how to fix it? Thank you.
Thanks - this is great! I have taken mine apart as per your video, there is quite a bit of food and a tiny bit of plastic (from a clothes tag!) stuck between the grey inner (attached to the silver mesh) and the white hard plastic filters. Are these two supposed to come apart as the instructions suggest they do, but I cannot for the life of me get them apart? There are two little notches from the grey inner poking out through the white outer and I can't out how to pinch them in to get the two filters apart. Thank you so much.
The whole filter contraption does come apart - the metal screen comes off from the white basket with the handle, and the outer cage bit comes off too. It seems to come off with an amount of twisting and pulling and poking at the plastic tabs.
Sorry that was five years ago and I can hardly remember it now. I don't think I needed to do anything with the pressure sensor, it was just listed as one of the possible causes somewhere when I looked it up at the time.
I have a e State dishwasher and all lights are flashing on it unplugged it for a while plugged it back in all lights are still flashing anybody got an idea
Pull it out and tip it on its side, expect water to flow out (mop handy). The bottom of the washer is a big tray that catches any leaks to prevent flooding the flat below (if you lived in a flat that is). There is a switch attached to a polystyrene block that floats should the tray fill with water. I think what you are seeing is that switch being activated. www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=57755 see this post for more ideas.

Brilliant! These steps fixed my IDL40 dishwasher. I'm so grateful to you! And I'll be more diligent with cleaning my filters from now on.

Wonderful! So glad it helped and also stopped another machine prematurely hitting landfill.
😊😊
If you are still around- big shout-out saved us a lot of euros -thank you!
No worries - glad it helped

Thank you. I just put a bottle of caustic soda and boiling water in two drainings and it appears to have sorted it. Thanks again

If its worked -you are probably ok - wouldn't worry about the soda crystals - belt and braces...

Awesome description, thank you!
A 9 year old video saved my bacon, thank you :)
It's crazy when it was literally a spur of the moment, I'll just experiment with you tube and post this type moment.
This seems to have sorted out our issue - thanks for posting this, that's another job off the Coronavirus joblist!!!
Good, hope there are plenty more to keep you from being bored!
Yes! Couldnt find the solution anywhere else. Godsend, thanks!
Awesome - I have just done as you advised and once again have a working dishwasher. My advice is wear rubber gloves - my hands are on fire now!
Yeah - I've added a note about that, I made certain not to get it on my hands and washed them after...
Actually 99 times out of 100 this is just debris in the filters and basket. Wash out in clean water reinstall turn machine off for 1 minute then turn on again. Job done. Simple
Quite a heavy handed chap aren't you? Trays thrown, button whacked. Thought you were gonna kick it at one stage
Annabel Lockhart Hey- its tricky to video with your phone in one hand and dismantle the washer with the other! haha
Worked an absolue treat, Many thanks (wish I''d found video before stripping machine down!)
Brilliant,.after spending £42 it failed again. For the price of a plunger and some crystals its going again Thank you.
Worked for my Indesit 105 dishwasher. Thanks!
Great to hear!

Will it also work if only the first one light shining rapidly?

What else is going on? Is it starting to wash ok, draining ok etc?
Everything has been working just fine but all the lights are flashing and it won't start or do anything
If I was that dishwasher I’d be scared to break. #aggressive

I used a empty bleach bottle to siphon the waste water, then poured down the drain
Repair procedure: petrbudvar.rajce.idnes.cz/
I did not use soda but sodium hydroxide
