``Hey guys`` killed the flow immediately....love it.
I think you meant to say, it SET the flow.
@@skafaced102 I think you meant to say, it WAS the flow
that was like art.
‘SCUSE ME.
These guys are professionals.
Gregg is an absolute genius in this
Sakaris Emil Joensen they are!
greggheads in the house
As a dedicated TimHead, I find Greg intrusive to the whole On Cinema experience.
VaginaBooB 420 Holy shit lighten up, bro. Trying to make everyone as bitter and angry and joyless as you are out of spite and jealousy is just pathetic. I’m sure you’re better than that, champ :)
@VaginaBooB 420 Everyone must really hate you
Just imagine how bizarre this would be if you didn't know On Cinema.
So true. Greg is my favorite part of both this and on cinema. True genius in both of those men.
I've watched Mister America before checking out On Cinema.
@@kokeshkokesh What was that like? Were you aware of some of the background and the fictional versions of themselves?
@@kokeshkokesh I imagine that would be pretty hard, but also could be a nice introduction to on cinema.
I actually found out about On Cinema from this very video
the interviewer did a great job, 5 bags plus a tiny guitar!
cyber maru great job vince vaughn.
Let’s just stick to the standard bags and soda metric if you don’t mind
Thanks
@@bananababylon here's the line - you can't just start sliding bags of popcorn over here
Every time Tim barks 'excuse me!' at Gregg, a new angel is born.
The best thing Rolling Stone has ever done
ya man like chain mail on king george bahahaha
Watching this, I laughed harder than I had in a long time, but Hunter S. Thompson wrote for Rolling Stone, and his writing probably made me laugh harder.
Needed more vape talk. But it was okay.
since Hunter S. Thompson.
Hey guys.
Hey guys,
Hey guys;
Hey guys:
If I could just get a word in --
I showed this to my dad and he thought it was a great spoof and a goof.
"The BPM settings were dialed in perfectly."
Tim's expertise when it comes to criticism really carries over from film to music. I'd love it if there was more music banter on the On Cinema show. Gregg gets to do unique segments, like the boring 'On Cinema On Location,' so why can't Tim have his own bit?
Two words: 60 seconds soap box.
Because greg cares about one thing, and that one thing is greg turkington.
Because its called On Cinema at the Cinema, not on music at the studio. Tim should make a different show to talk about that (though actually he should prioritise watching all the movies up for review first, and then he can do all that boring stuff)
Also 150bpm is straight up like jungle/dnb lol
I’m actually at a loss of words in regards to Gregg’s professionalism, even though he was blindsided by the subject matter of this interview. He stayed on topic no matter what, showing that NOTHING can come between him and his true love: quality/professional film reviews...
The opening with all the awkward looks and Gregg throwing in a hey guys was comedic gold.
"do you find yourself struggling with..."
immediately, without a beat, tim: "mental health issues?"
good lord.
4:22 And then his smirk afterwards 😂😂
@@ditlab2345 the smallest of smirks
This is what got me, this and Gregg saying Pirates of the Carribbean was based on Keith Richards.
@@timo1949 I mean, it was
*I love when tim yells "excuse me!"*
Holy shit, Gregg was lightning quick on that Keith Richards/Pirates of the Caribbean connection
2:46
Would you expect anything less from one of the greatest movie buffs of our generation ?
I lost my shit at "HEYGUYS"
obsessed with how Tim's piercings were clearly drawn on with a Sharpie
I thought this was going to be a real interview and then "Hey Guys"
"its teeny-bopper music and i love it" TOTALLY AGREE TIM. its NOT just for kids
Not everything made for kids is automatically bad.
15 seconds in and the gregghead in me is PUMPED. I can already tell I’m about to get some CLASSIC GREG MOMENTS. i give this interview 5 bags of popcorn and a well maintained film archive
"I think he should've done more acting and less of the music, nobody really cared about the music , but the films were very good"--------Greg on 2pac
Underrated one-liner, absolutely a typical Neil Hambruger slam.
I give this 5 bags.
Billy big Vape your username 😂
I give your critique 5 bags and 2 cups of soda
I will give your critique of the critique 5 bags of popcorn, and I will throw in 2 cups of puke and one Vape to top it off
I'll go with 7 bags of popcorn, 5 cups of soda, and 2 of those hot dogs that some theaters have. Enough for a small get together. Not everyone is going to want hot dogs so all you need is 2.
4 bowl cuts, 3 leather gloves and 3 vapes
"90's... Kurt Roder... Kurt, whos the guy from uh Pearl Jam, Kurt, Rode... Eddie Money... Eddie Veder from Pearl Jam... 90's"
And then now we have Chainsmokers!
www.google.com/search?q=kurt+roder&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS824US824&oq=kurt+roder&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i457j46i10i433j0j0i10l2.2267j0j4&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=7JRCN94kIvVTcM
The chemistry between Tim and Greg is so solid. This is genius.
"Paul McCartney's a guy that's in The Pirates Of The Caribbean 7 but also had a big music career but is also in movies like ..."
love tim's smirk at "were gunna be talking about music" because without looking, he already knows gregg's confusion and distaste towards it not being about movies.
When you've got albums like Ed Sheeran in them you can't lose.
It's teeny bopper music.... And I love it
lol Tim mentioning Alice Cooper, knowing Gregg hates Alice Cooper.
B. Henderson Is it because they look alike?
No like Gregg Turkington actually hates AC
Gromit Pesley oh shit dude they fucking do
Greggs hatred for AC is hilarious
This is the most aggressive Gregg has ever been...
especially when he brought up Humphrey Bogart, Casablanca and George Burns.
Well, that is totally understandable, he was lured into the interview under false pretense, thinking he could give some expert opinions on movies instead of talking about some music that no one really cares about. Im with Gregg on this one!
I’d be angry too if I had to talk about the dated media of music, the future is in movies specifically vhs tapes.
If we don't count that time he poisoned everyone in the studio with his car exhaust, but I think they may have been an accident - although he was dressed as The Joker at the time.
THIS IS THE HARDEST I'VE LAUGHED IN A LOOONG TIME. Ricky Gervais-style clown howls coming out of me. Pitch perfect - great interviewer too. He did his part and stepped back and let the genius unfold.
MrTayloreh that ricky gervais laugh is the best laugh ever
Do you find yourself struggling with.. "Mental health issues?" lmfao killed me
"We went out to the desert to a sort of sabbatical where we were going to write... y'know the record. And we were out there for six, seven days, and not one tune or lyric came to us. At all."
I’m not sure how it’s possible to stay THIS in character. How do they not laugh?
After gregg dropped that *hey guys* you can see tim holding back laughter
Gregg only once has to go for a sip of his drink. Pretty sure that was cover.
One of the best parts of talking about music with these two is that we get to hear about some good movies to watch
Finally, someone interviewing Tim Heidecker who knows how to play into his humor, bravo.
play it like it doesn't exist....can't go wrong
people are gonna see this and take this seriously and I love that
lol Gregg to open the segment: "Hey guys!"
Kurt Rhoder: icon of the 1990s
loved it
I thought he was trying to talk about Kurt Loder, the MTV news host
"he should've done more of the acting, nobody really cared about the music" - Gregg on Tupac.
Thought Gregg was off base and out of line as usual this episode making snarky comments and interrupting Tim and his guest. Mr. Heidecker did a great job as always staying on topic, conducting himself with an air of professionalism, and being fair but firm with Gregg and the other guest. Keep up the great work Tim!
*reminds me of Chainmail*
3:58 "I wanna put him in a box". Damn, Gregg is savage here.
Love how Greggs movie expertise still shinned through in this shame of an interview.
Greggheads unite!
Says vagina boob 420
@VaginaBooB 420 He meant that you shouldn't call other people losers when you fail at everything you do in life.
Tim already lost it at Gregg's "Hey guys"
I had to pause the video right off the bat when I heard that hahaha.
"I just want to shame you a bit"
This is great, it's like a bonus episode of On Cinema.
It's teenie bopper music, it's teenie bopper music... and I love it
I wish they would just do interviews all day, fantastic improv
My humor is broken. Gregg’s hey guys kills me.
I think that means your humor is perfectly calibrated
omfg gregg's performance is ace
Every time I think I've found the bottom of On Cinema, there's another level deeper.
side note, the interviewer played it perfectly
his cheeks were Red by the end. that had to be tough
As a Tim head, Gregg was absolutely dialed in on this one.
Jason the interviewer absolutely nailed it
Wow, Gregg completely saved this banal interview with that stellar film expertise
That first "Hey Guys" was a total alpha power move.
Lil known fact: Tim is the president and CEO of Rolling Stone.
Without fail, every-time they are talking about a fan of something, they put 'head' after it.
5 bags plus an extra stick of butter for it for getting out of your comfort zone like this. Great work, Tim n Turk.
T. Heidecker can't even do a "rolling stone" show without making an ass of himself. He should be jailed for his crimes against the people he killed, and most of all, against movies!
Corbett Blair right? He's a danger to society and he's even got the gall to throw Gregg under the bus all the time. So what if he didn't watch Sully? He had a busy schedule that week and it's not like Tim is watching the movies all the time either. He should drop the paint and get some movie reviews out asap!
How dare you.
Hey guys, as a gregghead I have to say the focus needs to be on movies and not silly bands like dekkar or dkr for that matter
you're just a delgado family shill
Cringey af
"Well speaking of music we're talking about music here"-Tim
Tim almost burst out laughing a couple of times. Greg is hilarious!
What a treat!
4:23 Do you find yourself struggling with…" "mental health", brilliant!
That part got me
Dr. San was a monster who got what he deserved... You people need to see him for what he was... Tim is innocent! Paul McCartney had a vibrant film career!
Joey A Yeah but didn't he harm Tom Cruise Jr.?
Tim is a troubled figure who needs to take this chance (fluke, lack of duty, whatever you want to call it) and get back to the movies. Dr. San is gone, Tim should have been convicted but he didn't. The film archive is slowly recovering from Tim's recklessness I don't know why we don't hold a funeral for the Victorville 5000 for the around 5000 movies that were destroyed by Tim leaving his stupid vape on a burning down the whole archive. If Tim was smart, he would get back to the movies because it's what he does best and DKR is not what he needs in his life and he should just walk down the "Straight and narrow" like Oliver Hardy and Billy West in the 1918 black and white film straight and narrow two greats of vaudeville comedy. Tim has been a piece of trash lately and needs to figure it out. That's all This Gregg head has to say
And Rosetti is a RAT
I love Gregg so much
RIP Doctor San
SD S Leave!
SD S He's in hell now
he took the coward's way out. it's just sad that the families of the desert sun 20 will never get true justice for what he did
His death does not absolve him of the murder of Chris Delgado.
He may be gone, but I'm sure glad I stocked up on his vape juice. These babies are worth it for the meth content alone. I've been up for 20 days and I've never felt more FANTASTIC!!!
Good god. I've seen Spies Like Us dozens of times. Until this moment, had no idea Paul McCartney was the one doing the theme song. Turkington, a certified cinema expert!!
“You have one song and the record companies like you gotta have more songs ... but the truth is how do you get more songs?”
EXCUSE ME
They really should have warned Gregg about what it was they were going to talk about. How could they be so disrespectful to an expert like him?
I can't believe they stole Tim's proprietary format. Does Rolling Stone'd have no shame?
*douggpounds format
“It’s teeny bopper music, it’s teeny bopper music. You know? And I love it.”
Greg Turkington ... killin it
I was going to write an in on the joke comment, but decided to be sincere and say I am so grateful for all they have done. The On Cinema universe is a fantastic achievement and has enriched my life for years.
Died laughing when Tim said, "the truth is: how do you get more songs?"
Five bags of pop corn and a little blow up air guitar.
this interviewer is justanother hunk
Zachary Haberern yeah typical hunk who thinks he knows everything about everything.... WHO CARES ?
I'm a doctor too ya know....
Living legends (and true experts of film)
“If you had to pick, uh, one album, throughout all of music history, that you would say is the biggest influence on you right now, what would you uh-“
“The soundtrack to Spies Like Us”
Gregg did not miss a fucking beat on this one. 7:16
Tim gives very good information on these topics
5:49 is genius... he starts comparing Drake’s album to Dekkar’s track Empty Bottle
These characters are so real it kills me
I put off watching this for so long because I thought it was gonna be a serious interview. I’m so glad I was wrong. Tim and Gregg in great form as always
I really respect Eddie Money...love a rainy night.
He apparently was the Pearl Jam front man according to Tim. I trust Tim for music, and Gregg for film.
And Eddie Rabbit..Take Me Home Tonight.
If you listen really carefully around 3:19, I swear you can hear SOMEONE in that room (I'm hoping Tim) stifle a laugh. Someone nearly cracks up.
"It's teeny bopper music, it's teeny bopper music... and I love it." Ahahaha! Tim using terms like "teeny bopper" while thinking he's coming off as young and cool. Gregg is obviously the cooler of the two
Oh shit, the conceit behind their improv is so simple, they're the worst conversationalists who spend the entire conversation trying to prove how smart they are. No emotional investment, just fear and self-aggrandizement. That's so good, I don't know how they manage to disconnect to that degree, the intent has to be so selfish and pure.
What do you mean 'improv'? It's an interview. Such a shame Rolling Stone didn't brief Gregg on its topic beforehand
They're obviously funny. It's nice of you to try to offer a reason why. I think your analysis makes sense. Most people just play along and pretend they're part of the act which is a phenomenon of its own. Tim and Eric are also very funny in a different way. Their thing seems to be to show how fake media is, how dishonest and empty mass media is. That's a gold mine.
Whoever was on the camera is a genius, you can tell they're a fan of Oncinema.
"You have one song. And the record label is like you've gotta fill out this with more songs."
"it's teeny bopper music... And I love it" hahahah Tim rules
...anesthetized, fully under, ya know not even dreaming.
Love Tim's sharpie ear piercings.
It's teeny bopper music and i love it.
“Friends of yours you’re trying to push” lmaoo
....I wish the interviewer asked Tim about the black glove on his right hand.
i wish i could go back to 2005-2006 and stay ther
I would go back there but not as a school kid but as an Xennial R&B/hip hop artist.
rolling stone are definitely in on the joke and are very cool and relevant
Perfect BPMs
dialed in
it's Teeny-bopper music... and I love it.
the interviewer here is brilliant
"its teeny bopper music ya know its teeny bopper music and I love it"
