    I was waiting for him to explain about C7 sharp 5 going to F minor. The sharp 5 is the 3rd of the F minor. To me it always sounds like playing the # 5 of the dominant undermines the harmony because it anticipates the flat 3 of the next chord.

    What happens when you play C7 # 5 followed by F minor? To me it always sounds like a weak progression because the #5 is the flat 3 of the i chord. So to my ear it sounds like you have anticipated the i too soon.. must be the way I am playing it..

      Usually the 5 of a minor is a dom b9. The 5 from harmonic minor. Composers use so many options in minor. It’s hyper flexible so study all!
