Nice video! So you mentioned that you have the AC version of the car as well, but is that referring to when you changed your SR into an AC for the most part? Just curious if you did actually buy the AC version and if you had any different thoughts on it over the SR converted kit. Great work on all these videos as well, good in depth reviews for sure!
Whoa grinding down that axle to fit the bearing to lock in the axle pin is disappointing. Hope that mfg error didn't make its way into lots of these elite kits.
Netcruzer RC TECH CARS this only happened on one side fortunately the other side fit perfectly. From everyone else I’ve talked to it hasn’t been a problem. Seems to be isolated to my kit.
TDK Repair i just did what you did. Grinded them down a little and seems to be ok. I have contacted horizon aboht other stuff before with no luck so I didnt even try
if you look at the manual super closely, you will see that the hex pins are slighlty thicker and longer than the axle pin. TDK put the hex pin in the axle and the hex pin in the axle.
Carlos Wilson Yes, realized this when I built the other side fine, but no pin worked on the side I had to grind down. There was an error in the machining or in the part itself. Should have clarified in the video a bit better.
I just built a 5.0 DC (the "Race" version not the elite) and it still went together pretty smooth.
Well done 👍👍👍
Great video!
I still have to finish putting my AC together. Guess I will order the servo before I do.

Which Protek servo model are you using for the 22 5.0 elite?
Interested to know how you find the advancements in the Elite over the 5.0 SR. Does that equate to a much different driving experience?
I got the kit with the bad axle barrel pin. The pins were machined too thick.
What motor did you use
I built this car, the pin you used on the axel was the wrong one measure the pins you will see a difference

TDK Repair just built my kit and both sides had the issue with the axle binding and being too tight into the bearing
Ruttrowreroy bummer! Did you contact Horizon Hobby? They should send you new axle pins and inserts. Let me know if they do or don’t help you out!

GOD BLESS YOU
The pins on the axles were 2 different sizes. i used the other pin and it fit perfectly.

I don't know why people put the music on the videos it's always to high 😔
I look for tutorials how to build the 22 5.0 dc and all i find is reviews and elite building
You should have reached out to TLR about the parts that didn’t fit. They would have sent out the parts right away.
