- Hi everyone - here is my tutorial on how to make a large sunflower with paper. In this tutorial I have shown how to draw and make your own template of sunflower petal.You can trace this template to make many sunflower petals. Also you can take as many petals according to the size of a sunflower. Basic measurements are given in the video.
(the higher the GSM, the thicker the paper. Most printing paper has a gsm between 60 and 120. 80gsm is standard. Anything from 160gsm is considered card.)
So you can't take any paper which is 160 gsm .take 80-120gsm .it should be soft and easy to fold to make the center .
And for petal I had taken chart paper deep yellow no texture .
Measurement of the petals : 5" in length so take 3"x5" of paper and fold that into half .then draw a leaf shape of the length 5'' then trace with this template on other chart paper as shown in the video . Approximately 70-80 petals .depending on the size you need .

What color exactly is this I know there’s different shades of yellow
Linda Garza. for centre base I have used lemon yellow and for petals, deep yellow and top centre part is textured brown paper
New to paper flowers. What is chart paper? Is it like cardstock? TIA!
This chart paper is available online and also it's about 180-210 gsm ( thickness). Yes it's like cardstock.

All the petals are of same size .. quantity of the petals depends on the size of the flower .i had taken approx 70-80 petals.
What kind of card stock was used?
It's a basic chart paper. You can find this in any stationary shop or online . It's about 180 - 210 gsm

can we use normal glue instead of glue gun? btw it's very nice.

I see now that the center is made out of textured paper. How big do you cut the initial piece of brown paper?

This is going to be interesting to say the least. Lol
So unfortunately I can not find 12 x 18 80lb paper here in the States.
The best i can find is 12 x 12.
So my question is... would it be possible.
Say I half the 12 x 12 which will give me a 6 x 12, fold that into quarters draw the 5inch template and it should yield me 8 petals per sheet...? Yeah?
