I appreciate this video, thanks. I would like to see a video about what becomes of recycled materials, specifically following the process for Utah residents, from when the item is put in the recycle bin to the end material. I understand that aluminum cans, for example, are 100% recycled so they're put to good use. However, some items as I understand are not put to very good use. I want to visualize and have a better understanding about how items are recycled and reused, especially as it applies to Utah. I think more understanding about this would be helpful and inspire more people to recycle.

What do you mean when you say "just take it to the grocery store?"

Your grocery store should have a bin that accepts plastic grocery bags (and the other items she said). Those bags are taken to a facility specially designed to manage plastic bags.

I've been putting my recycling in garbage bags since forever. This is the first time I've heard not to do that. Does this mean literal decades of recycling has ended to on the landfill???

What would you change? This info is helping the city to actually recycle as efficiently as possible

I like the saying, "reduce, reuse, recycle." Pre-cycling with this in mind would be ideal. Putting recycling restrictions to regulate packaging that comes to Utah, for example would greatly help people do that. However, in my opinion, this would need to be addressed at a corporate level and regulate larger companies.
Currently, the recycling process is too complex in my opinion and needs to be simplified. Unfortunately, the main solution I see is the city imposing more rules and restrictions on local residence who actually use and pay for these services. When this is the main solution, we all lose.

I don't think it is that hard for someone to dump recycled items out of a trash bag. It is a lot easier to dump it a bag of recyclables instead of a whole trash can from the house.
