Queen Mary of Denmark attended a grand gala dinner hosted by Carl XVI Gustaf and Sylvia of Sweden during her state visit to Sweden. She chose the ruby tiara she wore as a princess and a modified gold dress with red lace. The visit began with the arrival of the King and Queen on their royal yacht, although they actually arrived by airplane. The welcoming ceremony took place on the yacht, where Mary chose to wear the ruby tiara associated with the Swedish royal family.
