I already have an older version of netbeans IDE, do I need to uninstall the current version I have? or just update my JDK and download and install the new version of netbeans IDE?
I installed it on windows 10 OS, but when i try to run some applications i get an error JAVA_HOME set to different path. I searched my system and I figured out that I have a java installation under my Microsoft folder and when i use cmd to find the java version i get the one under Microsoft. How I am supposed to change/update this one.

Thank you for getting back to me. I couldn't click on it at all. The only thing I could do was to make a new 'user variable ' by writing out the path value manually. However I have no option to edit 'system variables' - only user. Can I go on by using the user variables instead of system? I think this is possibly where I went wrong the first time

Hi, Don't use .java extension while saving your file.
I had the same issue,
While saving give "all files" instead of "text document"
It worked for me

you can double click on the field, then add a semicolon i.e ";" and then paste the path
