Alex, my friend with all due respect I envy you out on the road but right now I'm on the other side of our industry. I got a great deal on 20 acres in Kansas, but hubs are expensive as I'm learning firsthand. The dream has a price tag. You'd love it I have a pond on the backside where you could kayak on the property or go fishing. When the terminal is finished, I'll invite you to visit. There's also a pond in Tennessee, smaller, but big enough to fish in. The person I bought it from gave me his canoe and yes today I went out in it for an hour, so relaxing. It's amazing, you loose yourself in natures beauty. I needed to forget trucking for 2 or 3 hours. I'm going to renovate a small house w/barn soon.

Don't forget bridge laws with where you put your tandems. Also, yes, the 8th hole, counting from the tandems am the way forward, is the sweet spot for your trailer and evens out the truck and trailer making it the most aerodynamic. It will save you in fuel, if you can have it there and be legal weight, especially if you're empty. But, you always want more weight on your drives than on your tandems, but always be legal weight. Tandems all the way back is almost always a no go with most bridge laws.

It’s oddly frustrating watching Alex get out his truck, pop hatch, grab gloves, do something mundane, place gloves back in hatch, grab some hand sanitizer, be in truck for 5 seconds then repeat the process again like 4 times in a span of 5 minutes. I guess drivers stick to routines and do things a certain way.

I recall when Alex was at Variant and the massive amount of time wasted hunting for a decent trailer. GP is a better company. You didnt need to back it THAT far back. And you couldve just gone. All the cars will slow down and stop for a large truck. That time when FedEx truck was waiting the street was clear. You could just go and they can wait on you. Then spends an hour or half trying to perfectly park only to realize wanting to get fuel right after parking. Then another hour or half to park again. Im sorry i love watching these videos but as a person who prides on being efficient, watching Alex's inefficiencies and time wasting is hard. I get it it's his own time but having put in 10-12 hour days i want to stop asap and rest or get out.

Oh I have one but then I realized that all these truckstops are located just off the highway so there is nowhere for me to ride my bike. It just ended up being a big decoration piece in my truck so I got rid of it

Trucker path is your friend alex. Relying on a fancy truck gps is great an all for truck routes. But trucker path will tell you where every truck stop is and you can trip plan accordingly

38:06 Why did they want you to unhook from the trailer? Seems pointless? I'm missing something I guess.

Unless the driver next to you sucks and takes off your front end when he pulls out. 😁...So many drivers park with there rear ends several feet into the box behind them, because they're too lazy to walk their asses back to see where they are.
