@@LaserGarage definitely will I’ve been looking into both a cnc and laser to get my toes wet and so far this machine is seeming best to get started and test the waters. I like to over research things before I bite the bullet though lol.
Research is a good thing, these are not small purchases. Ultimately it basically comes down to what you want to make, what’s your goal, and what’s your budget. DM me on instagram.
Thanks for this - I just got an XE-Pro CNC and have a Creality laser, and I was thinking about mounting the laser unit on the CNC to just have one machine since one of the mounts that came with the CNC fits it ... the point you make about the enclosure is spot on and so I'm going to stick to my separate machine setup on that account alone.
You’re welcome. Combining a cnc and a laser can be the right choice for some with limited space. But if you have the room you’d definitely benefit from having separate machines. Thanks for watching.
I have the foxalien 4040-xe and was considering adding a laser. I mainly want a laser that can burn the bottom of the things I cut out with the router. Is that possible?
@@LaserGarage Not exactly, though that is one of the main reasons I want one. What I mean is, can I carve out, say, the word "Text" with the router. Cut to 1/2" with the router, switch to a laser and have it burn the bottom of the text (without burning the sides).
Oh ok got it. Although that would technically be possible I don’t think it would be easy. You would essentially be v-carving or pocketing out text with the router. Then have to switch to the laser module and then line everything back up perfectly to be able to engrave the bottom of the text/pocket. I think that would be difficult if I’m understanding you correctly.
@@duallity2403if this is a frequent work, batch process or many taller parts jobs, I suggest u modify the router with a cut out or a replaceable bed. What I will do on my engraver is add a study metal frame with a lifter secure platform/ manual screw type to accommodate the height of part I want to engrave on the edge. This I mount at the edge of my metal table(removable) so the slide out engraver will attached to it to do engraving on edge.hope that helps.
Fox Alien seems to be stepping up on a lot of fronts. Thanks for the review.
Definitely Kevin. Thanks for checking out the video!
Awesome! I’ve been looking forward to see what you say about this laser.
Thanks a lot Alex. Hit me up if you have any specific questions about it.

You mean like a branding the back side of a project with your logo? If so, that’s probably one of the best uses of this laser.

@@LaserGarage OK. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to give it a try. Will make for a fun experiment.
