I put my Laegendary Legend tires on the Thunder just for fun. Harder compound allows me to play around with the thunder without it flipping over so easily. I've gotta get some content up but for now I'm just letting you know how I mess around with my RCs. Awesome video and content man. I'm loven your videos!!
Diameter of the tires will affect your final gear ratio. A bigger pinion will compensate for that .But also to take into consideration that vibration and balance of the tires will also greatly affect speed. Friction is a killer lol
Hey buddy great video again, if I may throw my opinion in with your battery I kind of learned that the c rating does impact your speed and acceleration when I went from a 2200 mah 80c I think to a zee 5200 mah c120 it went way faster but the tires do affect it but it shouldn't be much.. but like I said, I'm somewhat new to this and still learn so take it how ya want too buddy. I can't wait to see how much of a monster this little truck is going to be.
@@RCrepairAndBuilds upgrade the pinion gear and keep those tires, sorry for the double part comments I got excited in the middle of the video and said what I said lol. Also derby city rc was the man that got me into this hobby with the holyton, I saw his videos bashing the crap out of that car and thought maybe this might work for the first build ever and here we are lol y'all are amazing and again sorry for the two parter just got all excited to tell ya what I have learn so far. Thank you again buddy.
Hey man I seen watching your videos my ? I have the same truck and when I put 3s In the pinion eats up the spur so I got a still spur and now it eats the pinion's gear's up? Do you know anything that can help me out??
@@BMBup you need to check your gear mesh, if it's too tight it will eat the gears, quick! Check this video out ua-cam.com/video/t2d_gErjokE/v-deo.htmlsi=FzmiPQhAdEyfTF7p Also go check out @briansrcstuff channel, he has some in depth video's on gear swap/mesh!
@@BMBup I'm not sure without being able to look at it. I'm still running the stock plastic spur gear in my midgrade truck, 16 months with no issue's. My speedrun truck has a metal spur gear and aluminum pinions. I have several gear ratio slipper set ups strictly for that truck.

Your Chevy is clean, nice truck, once you go pick, there's no going back! 😅
@@frankfilippone9679 thanks, its been a great truck but the ol girl is showing some age now.
What speed did you end up getting it up to in this video? I’m at work and was curious.
I believe 50.3 mph on 4s and 41mph on 3s, these tires cost us about 6-7 mph
@@RCrepairAndBuilds pretty solid!
@BriansRCStuff tires are very stable but cost alot of top end speed

What metal diff would you recommend to replace the front? Any link that you use for thunder parts?

Ok I did even with the paper trick and I went to my loco hobby shop and had a guy mesh it for me? So idk??
@@BMBup are you sure you're using the right gears? Laegendary list them as 32 pitch but they're not, they are actually M0.6
Yes I got the car carbon still 65t mod .6 spur and so far every mod 6 pinion I put in it just eats it up???
