Hearing Doug say that Purpleheart is a dog for sales is a dagger through my heart. Admittedly, I don’t have a purpleheart table (I’ve got small kids) but I have a purpleheart everything else and the dream is to eventually get the table to finish the set.
From what I'm hearing, you COULD do it as a custom job if they don't end up making it a mainstay; if you had the money.
Doesn't have to be S-tier crazy to price it, since it is a wood they have in the shop. I think they just don't want to put it on the list. Kinda like a "secret menu" situation.
@@elbruces Well, I think they're still very much up in the air about the selection, and I see a ton of exotic woods being suggested in the comments. If you guys want, I can suggest that purpleheart stay in rotation as an option when I see Doug later in the week.
Personally, I like that wood too, but I can see why a lot of others wouldn't; purple isn't really a color scheme that most people associate with furniture.
@@elbruces I spoke to Doug, and I'm pretty sure purpleheart is staying in the main rotation; not a guarantee, but he's not going to abandon it, I think.
I can’t fucking wait for you to make the 50k demo prophecy. Fucking burled toppers, silver stringing, marquetry, holy fuck guys dooo ittttt
Doug mentioning Carpathian birch and then the image of Vigo the Carpathian looking over Jason’s shoulder a few seconds later had me in stitches.
I had the same thought myself; he had the word correct, he just didn't know how to pronounce it.
Surprise twist: it's Doug writing the afterwords on the screen; stream-of-consciousness is a double edged sword.
For the wood I'd like to see a table in, only one option makes sense... Bamboo. I need Jason to head to the nearest shop and buy all the cutting boards he can find.
Im here to vote for a bamboo mixed with purple heart cause why not
Something to consider (and I know you guys know this), but just because a sample looks good doesn't mean that it will look good on a big surface like a table. As you were building the Rogue table, your media guy (sorry but I'm terrible with names) was able to cut and paste different fabrics for the interior. If your site can do the same with woods, the potential buyers can see things in context. Sure, they might be thinking of a Tier 1, but when they see how their fave wood makes the Tier 2 look, they might upgrade.
"Maybe if we get a million dollars on the Dicapalooza kickstarter."
Challenge accepted Doug! Prepare to make a table with a resin inlay of a geo-die!
Have Bobby make an inspiration board of everything he thinks epitomizes ‘pooz’, then give that to Crazy Ed to go nuts on with creative freedom. The wyrmlings will love the episodes and someone out there will love the table. Who knows, maybe people will request it as an S-tier option.
"...the video isn't done yet, I still have to put some memes in!" "Nah, ship it!"
I feel like the Pooz Prophecy is finally the right project to get Ian, Bennet, and Crazy Ed all together and see what they can do collectively.
Red gum, poisonwood, green sandlewood, blue gum, ironbark
Big supporter of the Gum/ Eucalyptus woods for sure!
Question is, can you get reasonable amounts of them for a reasonable price.
@@LabTech41 Honestly no idea, they are moderately abundant here in Aus but i have no clue if they have been domesticated in the US. But for the S Tier options showing a really pretty international wood could be a nice idea
@@pandamoninum Well, WW's planning on having a European/Australian KS at some point... maybe they can build out a supply line back, given they're going to have to built one out to there.
@@LabTech41 the ironbark and blue gum are reasonably easy to come by, and pricing would be similar to wenge. Red gum and green sandlewood are less available and would be in the S tier definitely. WRT supply, many of the woods that WW use are grown internationally, it would come down to finding either a supplier in the US or an exporter in Aus that fits with thier pricing model. Seeing as these tables will be in the realm of $US 25k++ any exotic timbers should be on the table.....pun intended
When looking at cool wood options I've always loved the selection that artisan dice offers. I know wyrmwood doesn't do wood dice. But artisan always have cool new options and I think if things don't sell well, then it's time to look at getting new things. There are so many options out there that even doing a small Kickstarter for new woods to try would be exciting.
Make Wyrmlyfe great again, bring back dailys!
Spite Doug Campaign! Get that Pooz table! Only need a mill for the diceapalooza! Let's goooooOOooo
There were a couple of dark space edits in this one. Missing some dank eda-memes?
I was wondering if it was the video or you tube being weird.
Considering one was with Doug about to start talking about midgets, my guess is that some thought crimes were happening that got edited out.
There was supposed to be a clip of the Willow movie there. Oops
@@WyrmLyfe You deserve medals!
Congrats Gates! A boy name we had picked out for our second child was Grayson after my Grandfathers name. Had a girl and it became her middle name, just took off the s o n :)
Viggo the Carpathian just staring down Doug as he mispronounces his namesake wood.
I'd love to learn more about the hacks, processes, and systems Wyrmwood uses in the shop. The tips and tricks for woodworking at scale, things you'd only have to figure out when you get into this level of production.
Its probably hard to get in your neck of the woods, but mesquite wood has beautiful depth and figure. It is friggin hard and dense though, and not sure if its plays nice to create veneer out of. But damn is it pretty.
I vote for Kingwood. Also, you should add your giant library of wood types back to the website, it was super cool!
For the custom Desk, would love to see some type of Burl wood doors for the cabinet as an accent if you're going with the scandinavian birch for the top just to lean into the craziness of the wood growth
The footnote at 6:30, epic... Love it
Really excited to see some of these new woods on the modular desk since I have been dreaming about buying one for a while now.... ;D
Congrats on the baby Gates! My son is also named Grayson, great choice!
Doug, you need an interactive signature prophecy configurator.
Can you do a segment on the pros and cons of veneer versus hard wood. I believe you have touched on some things, but it would be good to know about how veneer holds up durability wise. Thanks!
Would love to see a nice wide showing of some figured sapele! Really easy to work and rather affordable! On a side note the workshop would smell like nutmeg...
I kinda thought the same thing about Mahogany. Seems like they are missing out on some obvious good choices
Pooz prophecy has gotta be something crazy like a live edge/cookie resin pour top, but still have the standard outer profile. Maybe have different glitter and colour inclusions, or even liquid core in the resin. THAT would be poozin.
No idea if you guys actually take suggestions from here but Hura Possumwood looks really cool. Very funny tree overall. Poison barbed bark, and explosive seeds. But the wood grain looks good
Looking forward to seeing some crazy examples built on WyrmLife. The episodes with the craftsmen doing their thing are great!
@6:22 Best Disclaimer EVER.
Lacewood for me would be great. I have a ton of lacewood hex tiles and think they are my most stunning accessories.
I mean, a custom quoting process for a 20-50k sale is pretty normal…
EDIT: oh snap, I didnt think the prophecy signature tiers would start under 20k!
I love how the captions are getting more and more sassy as Doug speaks.
Would love to see a Signature Prophecy table that looks like a high end dinning table, maybe not so flashy as this one… something that would look great in the dinning area then BAM it’s a flashy gaming table when you remove the toppers
Would love to see what Crazy Ed can do with some figured Australian Gidgee wood!
Poozphecy table with resin "banding" matching a dice set (maybe Teal Appeal or Ancient Bronze)
Spalted maple, and I want to see Jason and Bennet working with some Osage.
Ok... Hear me out.... Gem stone logo inlays for the tables 🤯 lol
If you are doing a pooz prophecy you need to have a live edge topper with resin or in the inside area be live edge/resin and have some of those awesome metal dice inside the resin when it cures so they look like they are rolling around inside the table.
I feel like they need to add an option for a digital display into the tables since a there are so many digital map systems for DND and also for board games. Played risk using a TV display at a game night with all the pieces.
I like the bucket idea with actual coats for addons. The only thing missing is matching with a short term small loan company to allow monthly payments for the table with no risk to the company's bottom line.
My exotic wood vote is for Teak! It is a really nice color and I think a little different from your other colors
The Professor Oak cameo 🤣
Congrats on the new bub, Chris!
Ok if I win an absurd amount of money I will totally commission a 100% AAA grade snakewood table
Here's hoping you win an absurd amount of money cause that would be an awesome table!
Doug needs a signature prophecy using all of the woods he named his kids after
I'm going to suggest this to him, personally.
I know it's a personal preference, but I'd like to see more stuff in the White Oak option, across the board. Dice towers, trays, all the way up to the top.
I would love to see a prophecy from black poisonwood, but if I recall you were unable to find a reliable supply?
Two solid Pokémon references in a row.
I would LOVE to see a POOZ table!
Cheers!
I know it would be a fortune, but I’d love to see a spalted tamarind table.
You guys need to get some Green colored wood, some Poplar, Argentine Vitae Lignum, Verawood, etc. Druids and Rangers class builds need it. I think I know why you've been holding back, is because its hard to source consistently colored wood. Sometimes Poplar has green, sometimes it has none. But if you can figure it out *Chefs Kiss*
Bagels are donuts with rigor mortis. Unless they are good quality.
If you are looking for an eye catcher, do a flame box elder prophecy. That would catch everyone's eye at a convention.
Burmese Blackwood, Bubinga, Pink Ivory Wood, Snakewood, Flamed Maple are my choices.
Don't be a looza, Prophapalooza is a must!
Is there a local company salvaging urban trees you could use for lumber? Keep some really incredible figured and interesting species out of the landfill?
Doug, being Portuguese I am surprised you were so taken aback by Browman rawdawing the bagel, I mean the Portuguese love to rawdawg Papo secos, sure bagels are more dense but bread is bread.
Bocote will be a stunner for sure. One of the only woods that can stand up to BORO.
Pooz Prophecy: gemstone or resin logo insert with some LEDs behind it to make it shine.
Would love to see some Australian hardwoods like jarrah, blackbutt, or Tasmanian oak. Don’t know if these are too hard to get in the States though
Bring on The Pooze!
Yellowheart, Osage orange and blue mahoe!
Bocote is my favorite wood.
I think ribboned sapele would be another good option.
Next week on Wyrmlife: Matt's bonsai collection!
Sic Crazy Ed on a Pooz Prophecy Prototype!
Pooz Prophecy needs to have clear resin with at least 1 set of each gyroid dice offering mixed in.
I would like black poisonwood back. Most of my wyrmwood products are poisonwood and I would love to keep them consistent.
"What wood would you like to see?"
Honestly surprised you don't have Mahogany. I know it's a pain in the proverbial to work with, and the over-popularisation of Mahogany makes it overpriced. But Prophecies aren't cheap anyway. If you have $10k to spend on a table, you have $12k to get one in Mahogany.
Other than that: Swedish Redwood. Californian Redwood is iconic, but it's also a softwood. Swedish Redwood is extremely durable. A lot of European heirloom furniture made from Swedish Redwood commonly lasts 40, 50, 60 years+. It also adds a certain 'rustic' aesthetic that your current lineup doesn't really offer.
True mahogany is extremely hard to get since it is now an endangered species. Most "mahogany" you get now is other species falsely labeled mahogany.
So is S-Tier like the Crit Role table? Or is it the same form factor as Prophecy, just with custom wood combinations and style variations?
What if tier 2 included stain options? From what I understand it's difficult to get a consistent color when you stain, but, you can get some wild colors that way.
How dare you.
@@WyrmLyfe Umm, what? lol
This feels personal. Why the hate for stains?
YES THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!! LOVE FOR THE PROPHECY!
My heart says Bacote, but my wallet says "In your dreams"
Same
S-tier: get some of those ancient woods you showed perviously on wyrmlife
Passing drone hears Doug exclaim, "We're going to make some examples" and scurries away to look busy...
Hit a million, do a prophecy... But maybe it be the Hex-prophecy? Omen, with resin and led trim hidden inside to really make it poozy. The resin pouring episode with Crazy Ed would be a solid one.
Pooz Prophecy but no resin. Take some of that super figured wood and start staining it!
I think you guys used Zebrawood on one of the Cleric adventuring / master sets?
If you want to Pooze this then I say consider something like figured maple with tinted lacquer. The high end musical instrument industry does this day in and out for centuries now.
Desks would be so nice in these high tier woods
The way the diceapalooza kickstarter is setup you won't likely hit a number that accurately reflects the success of the project. Many people will pledge for just the value of resin or gemstone dice, but will add on significantly after the kickstarter closes. I think it would be better to come up with a backer number you are targeting as a milestone instead of a straight cash number.
12:49 A moment of darkness, for those who can't afford a table.
Provided the modular desk I'm currently waiting for doesn't turn out to be a turd, I'd be in the market for a desk for my other workspace and I'd be willing to throw down for a s-tier prophecy-level piece of craftsmanship.
Deposit required for quote process imo
in my opinion purple heart is harder to fit with other colors in the room it works great as a accent but seems to stick out too much otherwise
I mean I gotta have lacewood to match my OG wyrmwood stuff!
Pity you can source Silky Oak, Tables would look great in it
Necromancer prophecy is what I want to see.
If I could afford a table I would absolutely go with purpleheart. I'm a purpleheart/padauk combo guy, dark wood as a tertiary accent.
Blackbutt, brushbox, jarrah, karri, ironbark, riverrex gum. Some Australian hard woods
Full Bog Oak or Ancient Kauri!!
What about the Visualizer for S-tier / custom prophecies?
I want a Koa S-Tier with purpleheart accents! 💸💸
I like the idea....
Hope it executes well
Doug should know better than to toss an offhanded challenge at the Wyrmlings. I see a Poozin' Prophecy in his future!
Sweden mention 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Curly Koa wood is my favorite.
Lignum vitae table: indestruc-table... 😂
I understand why its not really possible, but a KOA prophecy table would be flipping awesome.
Loving the Poozkemon references :)
Price be damned I want to see a Koa prophecy (curly would be amazing), or argentine lignum vitae or verawood not the pretiest or most figure but comes out looking fantastic, mango would be cool to see as well, or a quilted maple
