    'half bling dovetails', I love it when you talk dirty. Nice to see the Incra kit is good for something. Watched it until the end, you've cleaned the kitchen up !

    Beautiful Job. Matches very well with the existing cabinets. Sure Tina loves it. If you get any thumbs down, don't worry it'll probably be Rob Cosman

    10:37, I think you should have explained that a little better for those that do not have the Incra fence. I do have one. Other than that, very good video. I really like your stuff.

    Your videos are so helpful! I finally have my Incra and tried cutting some half blinds. Overall it went smoothly and the results are good. Certainly excellent for the first time. My main issues are setting the height (how tight is too tight) and tear out where I wasn't expecting it. I got tear out while running the rabbet and also on the front face while cutting the pins (I think when I was passing the right angle fixture backwards but I'm not sure why yet). Just opportunities to practice. I think I'm going to invest in a digital height so I can just record the height for each dovetail bit
    My one question to you though is about the boards you glued up here and for the whiskey cabinet. Do you do that for stability vs just using whole boards?

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Ajm, re the tear out, sounds like you need to approach slower and push through a little slower, accepting that the bit is sharp?
      To answewr your question, if you're asking me to justify the extra work involved in cutting Dovetails in the carcase then I can't. I thought it wopuld look a little different for a change, and they do, but damn its a lot of work. 👍

    Hello did you have any problems squaring the Pro Fence II or the Wonder Fence to the table? My Pro Fence II drags on the table top and it is annoying. I also have the Right Angle jig that needs square to the table and fence.

    im here specifically to see the clean sweep downdraft plates and to be honest it doesnt seem to get much at all of the dust. in some videos it gets it all but i feel like they somehow show best case scenario. in this video it doesnt seem to do anything. Did you have the vacuum on?

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  2 роки тому

      Hi Elad, in this video my extractor was in desperate need a cartridge clean so it wasn't running at its best,. The holes / gaps in the plates usually work extremely well and handle the majority of the dust. 👍

      @@GTWoodshop yah i figured half way thru writing that maybe thats what it may be. It truly looks like it works very well in most videos, especially with the correct box and air holes in that box to increase the suction. Ill be doing this soon for my new incra as well

    i know you like your incra system graham, but thats a lot of faffing around compared to a leigh jig, the dovetails can be variably spaced as well, so you arent tied into one size.

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  2 роки тому

      Hi Kevin, I'm not familiar with the Leigh Jig, I used one similar to it many many years ago and didn't get on with it at all. I'll look up some videos on it and take a look, it will be interesting to compare them. 👍
