In the manga, it's explained better. Isagi was the one who figured it out to try his reflex so it was more dramatic he found out an answer to his puzzle. Hiori is the best assist still since he noticed in the manga that Isagi is Seeing > Moving > Thinking. He just suggested Isagi "Reverse" his process and Isagi went to shift gears and try to find how to "Reverse" his process. I think it was a better translation than the crunchy roll subs.

Have you watched the episode yourself? There’s motion in maybe 5-10% of the episode. The rest is all still images being slid around. Very low effort
