In this joint After Effects/Premiere Pro tutorial, we’ll look at create a beautiful and smooth lower third animation graphic in After Effects from scratch and then we’ll save the file out and import it into Premiere Pro and use the tools in Premiere Pro to load in and edit the text in the After Effects Composition and then talk about duplicate instances of the lower third so we can have multiple lower thirds across our video project, but also so all of our lower thirds automatically update if we change something in After Effects thanks to the Dynamic Link connection between After Effects and Premiere Pro. This video landed me a job! Thanks a bunch!
So amazing! Glad it was useful for you!
Looking back at this comment 8 months later, now working as a Graphic Designer/Animator, Editor & a Visual Effects artist, at my dream job. (At the time of this comment I was on as an intern)
2020 Edit: Wow it's been a while and now I have moved on from After Effects to Cinema4D! ❤
That’s awesome!!! Congrats!
Ameed I want to start editing videos using Premiere/ After Effects and Photoshop. Would you happen to have any advice for me who has 0 experience? Congrats btw!
@@abusiness8783 I'd say find what interests you the most. It's a big field and there are a lot of jobs/things you can lans by learning those softwares. If you want to edit, learning After Effects and Photoshop will help you a bunch in the future. I started with Photoshop when I was very young, then After Effects, then Premiere. It's not the path for everyone but it worked for me. I will say this though, practice doing what you love, it will help you learn quickly than watching hours of tutorials that you won't have the time to follow.
Thank you for this! You make great tutorials. Would love to see more AE tutorials.
Awesome! Thanks

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! :)
Thanks for the tutorial. Long video but super informative. I've edited in FCP Vegas and Premiere for years now, just decided to pick up AE to improve my titling. It looks easy enough especially with the project file integration into Premiere Pro.
Thank you BRO
Great tut, this will save me so much time in the future.
Thanks for the tutorial. I am more familiar with AE so its interesting to see how they integrate. This seems like a powerful workflow

Great video got me exactly what I needed and was easy to understand and follow - THANKS!
Amazing! Thank you so much! What a time saver. Before watching this I was exporting a finished comp with the text I wanted. Then using it for that video. Then changing it again export rinse and repeat.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks dude, great vid, I kinda had an idea but you made it nice and simple and i can share this video with my client and he can use it as instructions to using the file I send hime! Most appreciated :)

Thanks!
thanks a lot Nathaniel, this tutorial is really easy, i'll practice right now!!!!
Thanks a million! 👍
Been playing the game for a few hours already. It's... different, but I love it.
i'd really love some AE Tuts, also you can activate transparency on the composition so you don't need to work with pitch black
Not an AE user: it would be useful to know how you activate transparency on that composition. Thanks for the tip though. Great tut overall.
Hi mate, Since the recent spring edition it's better to leave the live text templates for what they are and use Graphic Essentials instead, much more powerful and easier to use :)
This is the best tutorial i have ever seen.
No wonder this is my fav. channel
High praise! Thank you so much! :D
Great tips, thanks! I would like to know what program you use to record the screen and how to apply this zoom.
Thank you for the tutorial! It really helped me out to do my first lower third! BTW I figured out how to line up both lines using an expression. It perfectly works and let you write any name and last name with the same animation. Use it on Null object position and parent last name to it. Also, don't forget to change Name's paragraph on left.
gap = 10;
L = thisComp.layer("Name");
rect = L.sourceRectAtTime(time,false);
x = L.toComp([rect.left+rect.width,0])[0];
[x+gap,value[1]]
Hope it will be useful for someone!
really useful! It isn't neccesary to save AE file in any special version to be able open it with Premiere? cheers!!!
WNice tutorialch version do you use to get all the setup and polyphonic softs?
very nice Love from Pakistan
hi, may I know how to enable that master tab for ae editable text in premiere pro? because I dont have it in pr cc 2016..hope you can help me out.
Great tuto. You can also link all of the text to a controler and center everything and control the position with it.
This video save my lower third task... 😁
your voice so good.. 😊
Thanks so much for making tNice tutorials video! You really broke it down well.
Super great tutorial! just wished you showed us a transition out of the lower third. But thank you, really clear and well explained :)
5 seconds of your speedy talking made my anxiety levels blow away.
Can we change the texts, colors and other parameters inside Adobe Premiere with those Videohive After Effects nice projects as well ? Say, I purchased a complete broadcast template, full of lower thirds, bugs, etc. Can I export only the lower thirds to change them in adobe premiere ?
First, thank you for your tutorial. Question this is great an all but how about when you do need to adjust for sample the person's title text but not the others? if you change it once it will affect all. Is there a way to have them all individual so like that you can adjust whatever is that you want to adjust and not worry about messing up the other 3rds? I know that sometimes it is easier to have them all "link" but how about if for this project I don't want them to be link to one project or to the same project? Again let's say for whatever reason I have two interviewees one is position left the other is position right. I want the lower thirds to reflect that person's position but if I change it in the AE project that will change for both. What is the workaround this situation? Thank you.
Good tutorial, i have one question tho. When i make changes to my after effects file and save my project, the changes dont't show up in premiere pro. I have to delete the AEP file and import it again for the changes to show. Do you know what is wrong? Thanks
One question... if you duplicate the textlayer and you would like them to have different backgrounds colors so not all of them changes to pink like in your tutorial... is there a way to do so? Thanks! :) /Maria
Which software did you use for this tutorial?
Thanks
i'm currently working on a project and everything goes great until I have to put the different names in. Whenever I try to edit the names, say from Eric to Frank, it can't handle the different length in names and the letters just cover each other. How were you able to edit the names and have them fit accordingly? I tried aligning one to the left and one to the right like in the video, but the first and last names still end up overlapping if they're longer than the original. (and if they're shorter, they leave a big blank space in the middle). Any recs on how to fix this issue would be awesome! Thanks
im using after effects 2019... so i did the lower third and save it as an after effect file, but when i wanted to import the file to premiere pro, the box appears but it doesn't show all the files that were saved , the black box is empty..... could you help, and give me any suggestion ??? what went wrong...
Good Job
Glad you like it!
tutvid Thank you for giving this valuable information.
I found when typing in other peoples names just to use the tab button to align them up inside Premiere Pro, it might not be the best way but it saves time instead of jumping back to after effects and trying to do it blindly there.
Thanks for the cool tutorial. I would just like to know if you would like to change lower third colour for different people, how would you do that?
You can always save the different colors as different after effects files
Do you need to render the effect in order use it in Premier Pro? How do I get rid of the red line above sequence?
Great video!! When i've imported the AEP file into PP however, i don't see those naming fields in the effects panel that you demonstrate at 16:20? Any tips?
right click on colums
Please make Flat Landscape tutorial because I cant find any good on youtbe. Thx
sub'd.
What determines whether we should link thirds from Effects vs just creating them directly in Premiere?
Relaxation Expert 😂
Haha, just try to stay awake 😂
This is excellent. Also, you could have clicked on the transparency button when making the edits "blindly" to get rid of the black behind the black text you were working with. Keep it up!
i download after effects lower third. its same method?
What if you want to have the first lower third in white color and the second in pink color? What do you do?
So i followed everything exactly as you say but when i go to edit the words in adobe premiere they all disappear immediately after i press enter.. why is this?
