Marcos said it is a "common courtesy", Taiwan congratulated him when he won, which was why he returned back the greeting for Taiwan's leader's success. He is bewildered as to why China acted that way. It is an etiquette
Because normally, if a country has a president it will be considered an independent country. And President Marcos congratulating Taiwan to have a new President is like showing to many that you have accepted the countries independence by accepting that the country has a President. It's not normal for people to initially think it's because of courtesy especially when talking about a country that is still considered not independent by many countries, I doubt even China will even remember that Taiwan congratulated President Marcos.
I really believe that, that is China's way of bully to Philippines. Because they know they can still frighten our president by a loud and a hars words. So our president suddenly change its course in saying he is respecting the one China Policy...just to listened the show of Mao Ning...
@@poohbear493 That is true, but I was just explaining to the MC on why China acted that way towards our Philippine President. And also possibly showing respect was also the last thing China has on their minds when they heard President Marcos greeting.

When Filipinos go to Taiwan, who do we get permission from? Definitely not the CCP. We don't give a flying fox about CCP when we go visit Taiwan.
The gesture of President Marcos in congratulating the new President of Taiwan is a sign of courtesy since Taiwan has a strong ties with the Philippines in terms of trade and commerce specifically we have huge OFWs working in Taiwan. China I think should not dictate the Philippines on what to do because we are an independent country and not under China.

It is not the Philippines playing with fire but it is China who illegally claims our West Philippine Sea as its own. We have the law to back up the Philippines' claim over the West Philippine Sea..
I firmly support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s stance against China's assertive actions in the South China Sea. His resolute approach, marked by a readiness to collaborate with Taiwan and bolster mutual interests, is not only commendable but also a strategic necessity in the face of China's continued assertiveness. This proactive stance by the Philippines under President Marcos' leadership highlights the nation's commitment to uphold its sovereignty and protect its maritime rights, despite the potential risks and complexities involved. The multifaceted strategy adopted by the Philippines, from exploring cooperative opportunities with Taiwan in humanitarian and Coast Guard operations to the innovative logistical maneuvers such as low-altitude air drops to resupply its outposts, showcases a deliberate and thoughtful approach to fortifying its position without escalating tensions unnecessarily. This strategy, particularly in the face of China's history of broken promises like the militarization of islands in defiance of previous assurances, underscores the Philippines' resolve to safeguard its interests with prudence and foresight. Moreover, the Philippines' endeavors to strengthen its international alliances, as evidenced by the defense pacts with the UK and Canada, amplify its security dynamics and deterrence capabilities. These agreements, spanning military training, humanitarian aid, and potentially more direct defense cooperation, not only enhance the Philippines' own defense infrastructure but also send a clear message about the collective resolve of regional powers to maintain a balance of power and uphold international norms. The overwhelming preference of the Filipino people to align with traditional allies such as the US, Australia, and Japan, rather than acquiescing to China's dominance, further reinforces the legitimacy and public support for President Marcos' stance. It's a testament to the national sentiment favoring sovereignty, stability, and a rules-based international order. In leveraging UNCLOS provisions and ITLOS decisions, President Marcos' administration is not merely countering China's unilateralism but is also championing the principles of international law and multilateralism. It's a stride towards ensuring that the South China Sea doesn't become a flashpoint for conflict but remains a sea of peace, cooperation, and prosperity, underpinned by the respect for international law and the sovereign rights of nations. As such, I stand in full support of President Marcos' judicious yet assertive policy in navigating these intricate geopolitical waters.

Taiwan for us is a free democratic country!
There only one real china and that is ROC Taiwan ❤
There were many country leaders who congratulated the new elected president of Taiwan but the chinese leaders in china tends to be selective in getting upset only in the congratulatory message of the Philippine President.
I wish Taiwan continued peace and prosperity! Congratulations to the new President and people of Taiwan! Looking forward to visiting your beautiful country again :)
One China Policy? It was signed by other countries not China neighborhoods so why China ask to respect it if they can't respect the UNCLOS decision?😅 Karma is real! Don't underestimate the Filipino people😂
CONGRATS TAIWAN FOR BEING INDEPENDENT COUNTRY STAY AWAY FROM DECTATOR
Much better we lean to one Taiwan policy rather than one china policy Taiwan given more opportunity to the Filipinos than China see how many Filipinos migrant there 200k.

Congratulation Taiwan for having successful election
The Philippines will diffinately supports Taiwan and it will a good cooperation for the regions stability..Of course the Philippines is not alone if China will resort to use Military force to insist their claim..We have also all the right to defend our Terretory..
Actually China a few days ago talk about peace with Ph but in the reality coastguard of China have guns and still abusing Filipino fishermen that's what senate clarify Beijing isn't looking for peace but continue what they're doing
It has been so many times we been fooled by China, but we never learned...

Everybody enjoy the west Phil sea as passage of their business so altogether let's work. This Chinese harassment to us is showing of no respect to all. They're doing pretty bad!
PHILIPPINES 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love Taiwan
The Philippines has a defense or bilateral agreement between the US and the Philippines.
Duterte created the problem and Marcos is fixing it, the nine dash line was also that Beijing created.
China has no bussiness telling the Phillippines what to do....
What mine is mine, whats yours we split - CCP motto.
What’s yours is mine too. 😏
China talks too much but can't even move one step ahead of Taiwan. Lol
