lol, in here it's illegal to fish at night on the river. Curiously you can fish at night in saltwater clinging into rocks. I have a question I'm seeing barbels mixed with chub on my creek, they are getting of feeding when I arrive to fish and I'm having smaller windows to catch, I'm at least not always spooking the barbel, any tips on lures I can use to try and fool some of them, my water temps are getting over 5c and it's a sandy bottom with 20 to 50 cms of clear water.
If you have them to hand, then why not. I'm sure cheese paste works all year round, like maggots. If the fish are feeding , they'll eat anything. Fish the same peg the following day, same tactics and bait , and blank...we've all had times like that. Nature at its best.
@@peterream9437 I fish after I leave my kid in school, and now I know the fish will bite immediately when I arrive and after 10:00 here it's gone I have to almost pissed them off for anything to bite.
Andrew always gets me excited about fishing in challenging conditions. Still the best out there.
Thanks.
Great footage Andrew, good to see a night-time fishing video.
Thanks 👍
Another very informative video 👍👍
Glad you think so!

The chance to catch barbel on lures is using small dark silicones BUT it will be extra hard whilst water is so cold.
@@AndrewsKnots thanks for the answer i might try a free rig or texas with some darker plastics.
Question: why not using maggots in that conditions?
