Wow! Good to see a demo of something besides bluesy picking. Mine just like this should be in later this month. 🥰 I'm a newbie....no way I'll sound like this for quite a while....but it's cool to see the possibilities of this guitar.
Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed the demo. Just keep practicing as much as you can and you'll be playing better than me in no time! Hope you enjoy the guitar! Thanks
Nice! I want to buy this guitar, probably in the next couple of weeks. Never thought of a strat before, but these are quite cheap, so for my first guitar it'll do. And it's versatile. I know it's bluesy, then thanks to Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro I liked the heavy sound he gets. And this video is just wow! Man great tone from this guitar!
Hey mate, It's really hard to say. They are both really excellent for the price! I think the quality of the telecaster is just a bit better. Which totally makes sense as the affinity lineup is more expensive than the bullet series. If you are mainly a metal player though, you want to go with the stratocaster, as it has a humbucker in the bridge. The telecaster still handles high gain decently but the single coil pickups can be noisy. Hope that helps you out a bit! Thanks
@@darrenfrets Thanks mate. Not a HM player, but love your riffing nonetheless. I do like a Strat though, but never had a tele. Had a look at the Affinity series as it also has a shell pink strat in the range, but it comes with a big CBS style headstock, which I'm not a fan of. I guess I'll have to flip for it.
@@Mandobird1 Hey mate, awesome to hear! Did you end up getting the pink one? I wonder if all the Squier Bullet guitars will get upgraded with those sealed tuners. Definitely a good move by Squier if they do. Have a good one!
I have this guitar in black. Fine guitar and I own many higher end guitars...nothing wrong with these at all. Tuners aint great but they work. All good once you get it in tune...
Hey mate, definitely agree with you! It's pretty insane how good of a guitar you can get these days for such little money. I've heard that some of them are now coming loaded with the tuners you find on the Affinity series. Would be pretty awesome if they continue to do that moving forward. What's your main guitar you usually play? Cheers!
Hey mate, for sure! It's a really great guitar for the price! If you can, you should definitely go to a local music store and have a play of one though. Also have a look at the Squier Affinity range if you have a bit more to spend! I'll be uploading a review of an Affinity Telecaster in the next couple of weeks. It's a slight step up in quality from the Squier Bullet guitars. Both guitars have far exceeded my expectations at this price point though! What sort of music are you looking to play? Cheers!
This should definitely handle that sort of thing! The middle and neck sound great clean, and the humbucker will be able to handle those higher gain tones if you want to get into some heavier rock music. Have fun learning the guitar!
@@darrenfrets Im just using the fender frontman 15g amp though. Well, I dont have any mfx pedal but I really think it wouldve been great using sort of good mfx.
Hey mate, What country do you live in? I'll have a little look online and see if I can find any stores that have the guitar in stock and are able to post it to your location. Cheers
It's definitely capable of handling more low gain tones! I'm pretty sure it's a slightly thinner body than a standard Strat. Actually makes it quite comfortable to play! Hope you enjoy the guitar! Cheers mate!
@@darrenfrets Mate, i got mine today, I have two Affinities as well and a classic vibe. I was blown away as the build quality rivalled the classic vibe. And it plays great, with a bit of neck smoothing, oiling and fret polishing it'll be just fine!
Hey mate, I'm glad to hear! I just conditioned the fretboard on mine with some Lemon Oil and it worked wonders! I'll actually be uploading a review of the Squier Paranormal Cabronita Baritone Telecaster in the next few days. Another Squier that plays really well. Have a good one! Cheers!
just asking to clarify, you didn't need to alter the nut at all to fit 12 gauge strings on it? If so, I'm buying one of these asap and changing the pickups.
Hey mate, you will definitely have to file the nut down if you want a decent setup. You'll run into some intonation issues if you don't. While it won't be perfect, you can actually use the guitar strings that you want to fit on the guitar. With enough friction, you can usually get the slot filed down to fit the string pretty well. Then just chuck on some pencil lead shavings to help lubricate the slot. I think it's the graphite in the pencil lead that helps prevent the string catching. Only do this if you have some idea of what you are doing. I really would recommend using a proper guitar nut file or getting a proper setup though. If you go too far, you'll most likely have to replace the nut. Cheers!
Hey mate, I think you can get it in a few different colours. I think the three main options are white, black and then there is also a sunburst finish available. But it definitely would be the perfect guitar to repaint and do other mods to. You could even do a matching headstock if you're into that sort of thing! Cheers for checking out the video!
Hey! Can you tell me which version of the guitar is better to take with or without tremolo? I'm afraid that tremolo will get upset often ... Thank you!
Hey mate, if you aren't planning on using the tremolo, you would probably be better off going with the hardtail version. It should have slightly better tuning stability. Although, if you can do a decent setup, they should both be fine. I was really surprised at how this guitar guitar handled Drop B. Hope that helps you with your decision! Cheers!
