    Thanks so much for putting this together!
    I just finished 25 laps and ended up with
    96 83 83 87 89 99
    93 86 86 89 89 97
    The inside of the front right las a little more wear than the middle but my camber and pressure are identical from on the left and the right side. Is this just a track thing or is there something I should change to rectify this?
    Additionally, the outside is getting relatively little wear and my tyres are at the minimum pressure, is there anything else I can do to help this?

      I would say you are almost there, in terms of tyre pressure and cambers. As stated in my video it depends what race you are running, this will give you great long run pace but maybe at the cost of some time in the first 5 - 10 laps but after you are golden. Short sprint races you can go up on camber but long endro I would only be looking at minor changes to see if you gain or lose time.

    Excellent information!
    Just to clarify for camber: Left Front: 97% 95% 80% indicates the camber is set too high and needs lowering. Correct?
    The visual for me (I think?) is the tire is riding "too much" on the inside of the tires tread so therefore it is wearing out more. Lower the camber.
    One question: Should I be getting these wear figures from the Garage window (in the pits, after laps) or should I be looking at the Tires Black Box in the pits (after laps)?

    • @ART_Alex
      @ART_Alex 4 роки тому

      You are correct, that looks to me as if the camber is set to high.

      In terms of when to get these figures, do some laps then escape back to the garage. What is in the garage will then be correct. If you pit then the black box will match that but then when you return to the garage the readings will be for the new tyres you just fitted.

      Thanks, Alex!
      For future reference then, only go into the garage once after pitting to look at the last tire wear figures. I will play with this until I get it correct. The iRacing Ingame UI needs to be totally overhauled and is so far out of date at this point. Your wear versus temps measurements makes perfect sense to me now. Thx!

    Hi. The aero calculator feature no longer offers information about downforce and drag coefficients, can this be found elsewhere? Do you store these aeromaps?
    Thank you.

    would the methods change for a track like daytona, since a big chunk of the track is on banked corners?

    • @ApexRacingTV
      @ApexRacingTV  2 роки тому

      Yes the theory would work for Daytona, even with the banking you should prioritise the infield section as that is where you will gain and lose most time. The banking is flatout so as long as you don't have to much downforce you will not give away much time in that section.

    Why are we talking about pressures? We know iRacing requires lowest temps for road racing .

    • @ART_Alex

      Did we always run low pressure, will we always run low pressure? If the tyre model gets tweaked then the video stays relevant. This is all about setup theory and understanding what info we get from the sim so that you can adapt to changes in the sim and get the most out of the car. I agree right now, nothing but low pressure is the way to go!

      Not all road cars in iRacing run minimum pressures.
