    Hey bro,
    Just thought I'd stop by and say this is a sick video. I like the way you edited it, hella smooth and it's to the point!
    Keep pushing forward and doing your thing. It's only a matter of time before you get the results you want brother!
    Also i do want to say, I have both the 3rd and 4th gen, i believe my 3rd gen is faulty as i did drop it a while back and i do notice a difference in sound quality when i record. Maybe thats due to my 3rd gen being faulty but vocal recording definitely seems more clear on the 4th gen compared to the 3rd!
    Stay blessed and stay winning🫶

    I’m currently using the 3rd gen Scarlett solo. I’m curious if I should upgrade. I have been looking at the clarett+ 4pre. Basically looking for th best raw guitar and bass di sounds and best raw vocal sounds. Does anyone have any advice? Should I save the $700 or jump in?

    Nice review. Is it worth going from Scarlet Solo 2nd gen to the 3rd or 4th? I had this card some time, and it still does work fine. Are there any big differences for instrument recording in the new gen cards?

    • @chris_tarroza
      @chris_tarroza 6 місяців тому +1

      I say if it still works then you're okay to stick with it. There are definitely newer features in the 4th gen but if you're happy with it now, there's nothing that will make your recordings substantially better. Just work with what you got! Thanks for watching

    can the phantom power cause problems to a plugged in electroacoustic? i'm thinking of having the xlr to record vocals and the jack input to provide guitar simultanously, and i'm worried not being able to individually turn off phantom power on a channel will cause damage

    • @chris_tarroza
      @chris_tarroza 5 місяців тому +2

      Phantom power is only supplied to the XLR and you can turn it on and off as needed. Your guitar would be plugged into the instrument line input which does not supply phantom power.

    Hi
    I am buying first audio interface. Should i buy 3rd gen or 4rth (which is most costly)?
    Purpose: live streaming and recording concerts and lections to zoom / UA-cam, band (drums, keyboard, gitars), church. Source of sound: mixing console, stereo pair (jack jack).

  • @Finians_Mancave

    There's another major reason to choose Scarlett's 3rd gen over the 4th (especially if you rely on the headphone for accurate mixing). In a nutshell, Focusrite compromised the headphone jack impedance (going from low to high) in favor of better fidelity. The result is the 4th gen headphone signal can be way off, depending on the headphones you use! For details check out Julian Krause's excellent review of the 4th Gen Scarlett Solo.
    BTW, you can still get the 3rd gen Scarlett units - Brand new (as of this writing) on Reverb.

    in just quickly looking at the 4th gen, its not completely obvious it even has an XLR connector. Yes it does show 2 input vols on the front but only the line input is shown, so i checked the website and they dont even show the back of the dang device. So here I am, checking you out to figure this out. Id say that is not even needed, in fact in front seems a little preferred. I agree, if you have a 3rd gen, this is not worth "upgrading" but since your now forced to buy the 4th gen anyway, its not a bad device. Id love to see 2 combo inputs on the front personally.

    • @chris_tarroza
      @chris_tarroza 5 місяців тому

      Yeah depending on how often you change the cable you're plugging in, having the input on the front is more convenient.

    • @chris_tarroza

      I don't. That said, my input level is turned up quite a bit (which I'm sure audio engineers would frown upon). I record in a fairly quiet place but it's acoustically untreated. There is a bit of noise and room reverb that comes through. I do some noise reduction and processing to get the sound you hear.
