Inner Child LYRICS
One, two
Yeah (x12)
You gave me touchin' and lovin'
And took me too the moon
You gave me feelin' and pleasure
Then left too soon
Oh baby,
Get ready
I'm comin' after you
Oh yeah
Cuz you make me feel (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Cuz you make me feel wild (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You touch my inner child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You got me in the mood (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
So come on, make your move
And free me
You make my wishes
As much as
Your kisses make me blue
I am lost up in heaven
Don't know what to do
Oh baby, get ready
I'm comin' into you
And free me
Frees me
Frees me
Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, Yeah
If you're in love
Come on
Let me hear you say, oh yeah!
'Oh yeah!'
If you're in love
Let me only
All hear you say, hell yeah!
'Hell yeah!'
Well, if you're in love
Come on
Let me hear you say, whoah yeah!
'Hell yeah!'
Free, ah, yeah
Cuz you make me feel wild (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You touch my inner child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You got me in the mood (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
So come on, make your move (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
And touch my inner child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You touch my inner child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You touch my inner child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You touch my inner child
Child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Child (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah ahhhh, yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh yeah
Years ago, i did a personal playlist called “good vibes”. Differents songs of differents artists to feel metter. Now, i am discovering that the most part of them were produced by this man! I think he know how to create joy with his songs. An amazing special talent, thank you!
Oh damn I had that exact same experience too! It was only years later I found out who Greg was and that he was behind most of the songs in my "Feel good" playlist
Me too
Me too!! One of my faves being Keating with Life is a Rollercoaster, Mel C with On the Horizon, Santanas Game of Love, Texas Inner Smile, and many others, including of course You get what you give. I don't like some of the more dopey stuff Gregg has recorded himself, but there's still enough genius to make him one of the greatest.
Pity that New Radicals stopped, but having his songs sung by various top artists is just as fine to me.
Gregg's signature music
I've been listening to Sophie Ellis Bextor and Gregg Alexander for over 20 years and only just realized he wrote Murder On the Dancefloor!!@@duif4b
It´s funny how everytime I like a song so much it was written by Gregg Alexander lol
Same... I even hear songs that I think are his now, but not written by him. He's an influencial songwriter ❤❤
I remember loving "Get What You Give" as a 9yr old, and the music video was so fun aswell.
I always liked Gregg Alexander's sound. He's like a mix of Moby, R.E.M and Macy Gray sonically. Unique.
His re-make for Justin Guarini is tight too!
Gregg has a unique ability to fuse melody with lyric to create euphoric pop music. He's a great songwriter. I easily put him in same masterclass as Hal David, Holland and Dozier and Goffin and King. The more you study these songs the more you realise he really is a pop savant.
One of the greatest pop songs ever. I prefer Sharleen’s awesome vocals but Gregg wrote it and came up with all the melodies
The song suits Gregg's voice so incredibly well! But of course, Sharleen's performance on the song is also great.
Never knew Gregg Alexander wrote this! Never even knew this version existed until now. Always loved the Texas version.
It's one of my all time favorite songs. Sharleen Spiteri from Texas improved upon the song with new lyrics, a fantastic bridge and vocals and more instruments like that killer guitar solo. But this is great. I would've loved it in a New Radicals album.
I sure hope Texas thanked gregg for this, masterpiece, would of loved if the new radicals released this, but I have to admit I think this song sounds better sung by a woman.
@@Truckergunners I mean they paid him for his participation. That's more tangible that saying "thanks" lol . BTW, sorry for the belated reply - 4 years later
The bridge is indeed very good
This is the original version..
Closing credits for Bend It Like Beckham - but it's done by group call Texas. I knew I'd heard it before!
Gregg kills this one! Love it.
Sonho com um show do Gregg cantando todas as músicas que compôs!
Hell yeah!
Should of been a New Radicals hit
This ❤
I like this version, but always preferred the Justin Guarini one 😊
He sounds as he did in his early albums
These songs were created around the same time of "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed, Too" so the late '90s/early '00s. That's why they sound so much like his previous works. 😁
Love this@
YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH
Billy Corgan + Mick Jagger= Gregg Alexander
I've heard that before.
Bono from U2
Hadn't thought of that and now I can't unhear it.
Is Gregg channeling some Jagger here? Hmm.
He sounds like him on this.
Love 💜
yeah yeah yeah 3
I think I've heard this on a movie soundtrack somewhere. It really sounds familiar.
I know this is an old comment but whatever. The band 'texas' recorded this song as 'inner smile' and it was used in bend it like beckham
So much better than the TEXAS version
Ok, I like the "Inner smile"-version from "Texas" more, but this is good stuff, too!
Any nerds know what the synth is?
I don't what synthswas used but i recognize the sound of the piano which is from a Yamaha Clavinova or PSR keyboard. The drums could be off a Korg Triton as it could make RnB style sounds and other sounds may have been used but with effects added.
@diebeneathme haha nice one
