Así fue el Debut De Gary Medel Como Futbolista Profesional.

Un 27 de agosto del 2006, un joven Gary Medel hacía su debut en el fútbol chileno con la camiseta de Universidad Católica.
Fue en el Clásico Universitario del Torneo de Clausura 2006 junto a los Cruzados y le tocó defender al "Matador" Marcelo Salas.
La U venció por 1-0 a la UC , con el tanto de Luis Pedro Figueroa
