Are you able to tell me the make and model of that microscope? I am setting up an experiment to determine paint film thickness on a plastic part in microns and have to image a reference scale to capture the scale of 1-10 micron distances in the photos to compare to the distances shown from the actual sample. Obviously I have to take the scale at the same magnification, but would changing the focus make them incomparable? Because technically you’re moving the plate up and down or closer and further. I don’t think so because then how would you even get both to focus at different heights since the reference scale is 1mm tall and my sample is 15mm.
