King Hussein of Jordan paid a visit to British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Thursday, as he prepared to return home after six months of cancer treatment in the U-S.
The King said he was looking forward to his long-awaited return to Jordan, scheduled for Tuesday.
King Hussein arrived in London last Wednesday after six months of treatment in Minnesota for lymphatic cancer.
Since then, he has been recuperating quietly at his London residence.
On Thursday, the 63-year-old monarch ventured out to call on British Prime Minister Tony Blair at his official Downing Street residence.
Mr Blair greeted King Hussein warmly at the door of No 10, and posed with him for the cameras before disappearing for an hour of talks.
On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Robin Cook visited King Hussein at the King's London residence to convey a "get well" message from Britain's Queen Elizabeth.
On his birthday last month, the king said he'd been cured of his cancer.
But he agreed to undergo a bone marrow transplant to ensure it wouldn't recur.
Doctors in Minnesota pronounced themselves satisfied with his test results and gave him the green light to travel home via Washington and London.
After the meeting, King Hussein was asked about his health and about the Iraqi crisis.

"I'm feeling much better and it's a long process after the kind of treatment I had to receive, the condition I was in. But everything is perfect, everything is going right. Thank you."

"I didn't talk in particular about any part of Iraq. But I think that it's fairly obvious to everyone that our aim in Jordan and our hope in Jordan is that Iraq is free from all the current suffering both internally imposed or externally and that it becomes once again a democracy and a country of free people who can regain their place in the family of nations. Thank you."

King Hussein was still in the U-S undergoing medical treatment when the U-S and Britain unleashed a series of bombing raids over Iraq, in protest at its government's failure to comply with U-N weapons inspectors.
Jordan is a close military ally of Washington and London, but many Jordanian citizens harbour sympathies for Iraq and demonstrations against the bombing have been very visible on the streets of Amman.
Jordan has outlawed any protests but concern is rising that sustained U-S military strikes could trigger domestic unrest.
