You should consider furniture oil or 'Danish' oil for the coffee table! Brings out the natural imperfections in the wood without staining, so you keep the lovely color.
Oooh I LOVE that lamp and mirror you found, and I also love how you left the little table you found rustic. I think when things are a bit imperfect it adds a wonderful "soul" to a home. This makeover came out great!
These colours are so on-trend but they're also timeless in my mind. The room looks stunning and is one of my favourite YT makeovers that I've seen recently x
Hermione, you can place an ice cube over every furniture marking on the carpet. It helps to fluff the fibers and the marks will be gone... I love your videos and your home style!❤️😊
Awesome job! So calm, serene and restful. The blue walls are beautiful - and manage to be warm and cozy, which is hard given that blue is a colder colour. I love how your style is so accessible and achievable - it's stylish, yet doesn't intimidate, unlike most 'designer' rooms.
Sometimes I sleep in my spare room because why not. Nothing stopping you from enjoying all the rooms in your house :) anyway love how you worked with the deep blue walls. Looks so cozy!
You made what could have been a dark depressing cave into a thoughtful relaxing space. It is beautifully styled; and I cannot express enough how delightful it is you are not only doing this yourself, but also on a budget. Well done!
As a collector of bits and bobs, like you, this really shows how important editing out furniture is. I thought the painted mid century credenza could stay in the room but it looks so much better with space in the room
Love the pine furniture in it! Think it adds warmth and works with the dark blue. Nice to see furniture that hasn't been painted white or grey. Lovely room, well done 👍 x
Great room. It looks quite inviting. Love the colour and the swimming pool print especially👍 DIY a ribbon/fabric band around your rug. It could also help to widen your rug a little as well. 😁
I really love how you've styled this room! I'm not usually one for darker colours, but the way you've put the lighter, pastel/muted colours with the darker wall colour looks so nice!
I love your color choices! And the deep blue on the walls looks beautiful with the painted wood work. FYI If you want to get the bumps and depressions out of you carpet, just place an ice cube on each depression or bump. Give it 24 hours and repeat the ice if necessary. A faster way but a little bit more risky is to take a folded cotton towel and place it over the area, use you steam iron and steam away. Be careful not to put the iron near the carpet, as it may melt it. Lift the cloth and brush the area with you hand to fluff up the nap. I look forward to your videos, keep up the great content!
No joke, I think the beach print is my home town! It’s Newcastle ocean baths (in Australia) and most of my favourite memories are liked to it 💕 dreamy room xx
Hermione I really like it! the colors are perfect, I love the Ikea wall shelf, wide enough to hold that beautiful mirror and a few other bits and pieces. I love the lamp and the shade that you made.. The table fits perfect in that corner and with the plant and the other decor it's beautiful. I love how it all came together you are so good at styling. Hope you have a great weekend and I will see you again.
Awe! We got the same pink skull succulent planter, guessing you got that at HomeGoods! I styled mine on a shelf with 4 other "skull" decor items: one is a Christmas bauble Sugan Skull (?! I know, but my mom got it for me at a dedicated Christmas shop..?! I don't know either... xD), another is a Crystal Skull vodka bottle I put a black knit hat on (rly looks like an afro, which makes it look wicked cool and hides the bottle's stubby neck, you can fill it with colorful liquids or sands but I like the clear), and the other is a DIY I made from an old Halloween decor, I painted it bright coral and gold and glued some faux-flowers on its head to give it a flower crown, sugar skull style, but not too literal! I love that shelf, and people notice it when they visit my house, quirky and fun! Whoever said skulls were fall decor only?! Death doesn't wait for autumn, it can get ya anytime... xD On that somber note... lol Great job on the room!
@Hermione Chantal Lovely job! Top tip for drilling into walls... use masking tape to tape an envelope under the hole and it catches most of the dust - it works beautifully. Also use a dark wax on the table, it'll uniform it without looking like wood stain and give it a lovely protective finish. xxx. Keep going, you're nearly there!
I always think radiators should be painted to match the walls--so much less obtrusive. Agree with you about the little table--nice to show its history. The room looks beautiful--love all the colors.
The dents in the carpets may be able to remove them , many different methods out there on UA-cam, check it out! One method is the ice cube method and then there’s an iron and damp cloth method as well.
girl, you need to get on this styling game, literally would hire you to style my space, and Im an interior design major. Please record these spaces and link them on your website, they're so well done.
Hermione, just letting you know, we’re at the point in our creator-subscriber relationship when I pretty much automatically like your posts the moment they come up in my feeds 😅💕 You’re doin’ great, girl! If I could give you a real-life high five, I would.
You could add another smaller rug on top of the blue rug to hide the tear - something like the cheap sheep wool blanket would work (although everyone and their mum has them haha!) x
Table: run some paste wax on it. You can get tinted. Carpet: use a steam iron to remove the furniture markets. Just lay a linen on the carpet and use the iron on a steam setting.
I love the color of the head board against the wall but i think it might look even better in your bedroom, and the stripy headboard from your bed would also look great in the guest room, maybe you could try switching them out just to see what it looks like :)
Hey, you might know this but when you move furniture the best way to get the marks out of the carpet is to just put ice on top of it, it’s worked for me every time :) x
Your lamp is adorable. I'm a mid-century modern gal (I was there when it was just TODAY). What you did with that room was great. Whoever gets to sleep in that bed will have wonderful dreams I'm sure. Much Love
I love it . Even though the beautiful Head board Is mostly covered by the pillows. And I would have painted the shelf in the same blue was the wall. But I love this room. Great job
For your carpet "dents" I read that you let melt an ice cube to fluff it back. Love your pictures. We always minimize the impact of a nice frame to bring walls alive. 👍
omg, it just hit me, you did all of this yourself!!! it looks gorgeous and you are so talented. plus I really like watching you because you are so cute
I love it!! We have the same color on 1 wall in the livingroom and light pink and gold accessories. I really love watching your video's. Kind regards Marieke from the Netherlands 💕
I love that you reuse decor pieces you already own and don’t go out and spend £1838382 every time you refurb. Really inspiring!
This video really shows how adding just a few bits and pieces can really make such a difference. 😍
You should consider furniture oil or 'Danish' oil for the coffee table! Brings out the natural imperfections in the wood without staining, so you keep the lovely color.
To get rid of indents on a rug left by furniture, just lay an ice cube on the indent and let it melt. When the water dries up the indent will be gone.
There's also a trick with the iron and a cloth!
Also if you're ever wondering, that ocean pool photo is of Newcastle beach pool in Australia - I recognised it instantly!
What a perfect spot!
You just know how to combine colours! Thank you for so much inspiration! 💖😍
Oooh I LOVE that lamp and mirror you found, and I also love how you left the little table you found rustic. I think when things are a bit imperfect it adds a wonderful "soul" to a home. This makeover came out great!
Thank you for the lovely comment! I feel the same way, sometimes imperfect is much more charming 😊
Hermione Chantal definitely. Think about putting a coat of lemon oil on the table to freshen it up because it looked a bit dry. Enjoyed this video.
@@HermioneChantal love the styling and I have a similar colour paint in my room. Are you able to list where u purchased your other items like the rug?
Weird idea but could you do a video on how you clean your thrift store stuff
The wall color is fabulous.
These colours are so on-trend but they're also timeless in my mind. The room looks stunning and is one of my favourite YT makeovers that I've seen recently x

Thank you so much for the tip I am going to test this out tomorrow 😀💖I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Hermione Chantal Thank you! Best wishes to you too!❤️
The shallow shelf over the radiator is a brilliant idea, the room looks Great! Much love from California ❤!
Leann M clever it was the exact same width, wouldn’t have been so spot on if not.... she’s clever girl
Awesome job! So calm, serene and restful. The blue walls are beautiful - and manage to be warm and cozy, which is hard given that blue is a colder colour.

I think this is one of favorites too. The room looks amazing.
Job well done! I love the colors in there. It's very inviting.
Having a beautiful color on the wall makes all the difference. Lovely transition from boring cold white.
This is an absolute gem.....love your make overs. A soft, homey, approach, BUT very tasteful....
I read somewhere that if you let an ice cube melt in the carpet indents that’ll let the fibers fluff back up.
Nadiratani - Quirky Monday iron on low and a damp cloth
I’ve done the ice cube method for 30+ years, works good
Love the pine furniture in it! Think it adds warmth and works with the dark blue. Nice to see furniture that hasn't been painted white or grey. Lovely room, well done 👍 x
I just finished watching part 1 and boom! Part 2 is out ! Perfect timing !😊😊
Great room. It looks quite inviting. Love the colour and the swimming pool print especially👍

Thank you so much for the tips! They're great, I'll start by trying the ice and see what happens 😀thank you for commenting!
No joke, I think the beach print is my home town! It’s Newcastle ocean baths (in Australia) and most of my favourite memories are liked to it 💕 dreamy room xx
I'm from Newcastle too and its definitely the Newy beach ocean baths
I love the old lamp and mirror, they are so cool !!!!
Hermione I really like it! the colors are perfect, I love the Ikea wall shelf, wide enough to hold that beautiful mirror and a few other bits and pieces. I love the lamp and the shade that you made.. That print of the beach is Newcastle Baths in Newcastle Australia! that's where I'm from!
You really have a good eye for decorating. The colors you chose, I thought wouldn't go together, but it looks nice. The whole room is lovely!!
That pink hand print matches the headboard perfectly
Awe! We got the same pink skull succulent planter, guessing you got that at HomeGoods! I styled mine on a shelf with 4 other "skull" decor items: one is a Christmas bauble Sugan Skull (?! I love that little pre loved wooden table just how it is, looks lush against the colour of paint and rug xx
I always think radiators should be painted to match the walls--so much less obtrusive. Agree with you about the little table--nice to show its history. The room looks beautiful--love all the colors.
Great mix of colors and textures. I love it!
The dents in the carpets may be able to remove them , many different methods out there on UA-cam, check it out! One method is the ice cube method and then there’s an iron and damp cloth method as well.
I love this look...serene peaceful a bit playful( the hand print). The textures are suttle. Just love it. Thank you.
Very subtle. Lovely.
girl, you need to get on this styling game, literally would hire you to style my space, and Im an interior design major. Please record these spaces and link them on your website, they're so well done.
love the wall color-- screams cozy! I personally would have gone with another rug (blush, maroon), with hints of navy.
Use a kitchen fork and scratch up the nap on the rug where the furniture made indents. It helps to bring it back some.
Hermione, just letting you know, we’re at the point in our creator-subscriber relationship when I pretty much automatically like your posts the moment they come up in my feeds 😅💕 You’re doin’ great, girl! If I could give you a real-life high five, I would.
Omg I love this comment so much, it made me smile 😄big internet high 5!! I would totally give you a real life high 5 back 🙌🏻💖
I love , love, love it! It is my favorite also. I love the headboard. It looks much better than a black one. I love the picture of the hands.
I think that I missed that you got new bedding in your room and honestly I love it.
You could add another smaller rug on top of the blue rug to hide the tear - something like the cheap sheep wool blanket would work (although everyone and their mum has them haha!) x
What a great job, you really have an eye for decorating. I enjoy your videos and always look forward to them.
The guest room looks great! I also like the pink and white sheets on your bed.
I love your styling technique! This room is stunning. Looks like something in a home magazine. So perfect 👌
It's so dreamy and cozy! I'd move in and make it my master bedroom!!! Great job Hermione!
Love the colour scheme and the midcentury vibe! it cam out beautiful
Love the end result so much. .that color on the wals is so impact ..and love the way you matched the cushions
.xo
😍 I love the lamp shade - it's really cute. I lov the room - "great job!"
I LOVE THAT ROOM
Table: run some paste wax on it. You can get tinted.
Carpet: use a steam iron to remove the furniture markets. Just lay a linen on the carpet and use the iron on a steam setting.
Wow that print is of the Newcastle Ocean baths in Australia ....I lived there for 20 years :)
Wow this is really amazing 😍👌 makes me redecorate our whole space, even it's not a long time we live there :)
I love the color of the head board against the wall but i think it might look even better in your bedroom, and the stripy headboard from your bed would also look great in the guest room, maybe you could try switching them out just to see what it looks like :)
I can't get enough of your style! It's so well balanced and pretty, but not too girly, just perfect!
Hey, you might know this but when you move furniture the best way to get the marks out of the carpet is to just put ice on top of it, it’s worked for me every time :) x
Oh loved it!! And loving the colour on the walls!! 🤗
It looks amazing! I love the lamp and the shade 🥰!!
Your lamp is adorable. I'm a mid-century modern gal (I was there when it was just TODAY). What you did with that room was great. Whoever gets to sleep in that bed will have wonderful dreams I'm sure.
Much Love
LOVE the color combination in this room!!
You should get a long radiator cover and then it can be used like a bedside shelf
I love it . Even though the beautiful Head board Is mostly covered by the pillows. And I would have painted the shelf in the same blue was the wall. But I love this room. Great job
Love the end result. I think i would paint the wardrobe in a lighter colour as it is very prominent, but still a great room.
So inlove with the house from scratch 🥰🥰🥰
You should layer rugs! Then you can cover more of the floor but still hide the cut out under another rug 😊
I love the use of dark colors 💙 We are currently painting our Victorian master bedroom a deep, moody teal. It looks amazing!!
The room turned out to be really beautiful with how you decorated it. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Hermione the guess bedroom turned out great you have an eye for decorating.
It turned out really beautiful . the styling tied up everything together so well.
I definitely think you should move rooms! I love it.
I might have painted the radiator the same colour as the wall. The radiator placement in the UK is frightening!! 😁 😁 😁 😁
For the top if that table maybe do like a pretty pink contact paper!
For your carpet "dents" I read that you let melt an ice cube to fluff it back. Love your pictures. We always minimize the impact of a nice frame to bring walls alive. 👍
I wasn't so sure about the blue walls, but seeing the finished room ~ Fantastic!
It looks sooo good! You played with not only colors but also wood finishes! 👍🏾👍🏾
I LOVE the old lady lamp! The colour scheme is great! Nice makeover Hermione!
The colour scheme is beautiful. A lovely makeover 👌
Ahhh I’m so happy that rooms finished I really loved it from the minute you painted the walls that colour!
Very nice
Love the lamp shade !
omg, it just hit me, you did all of this yourself!!! it looks gorgeous and you are so talented. plus I really like watching you because you are so cute
I just absolutely LOVE your unique style! And you always work your tail off! You are a doer for sure! 🌸
I love it!! We have the same color on 1 wall in the livingroom and light pink and gold accessories. I really love watching your video's. Kind regards Marieke from the Netherlands 💕
I actually love the lamp! The room is really cute!
That lamp is incredible, love it!
I love how your shirt matches the bed in the intro! Been really enjoying your house reno and watching all the makeovers! :)
I would use this as the main sleepingroom - it looks great
Good inspiration, I’m moving soon and love these videos for ideas for my new space
The room turned out beautifully.
Great job.. the room is so serene and beautiful😊
I usually watch my subscriptions in order, but as soon as I saw this video I couldn't wait to watch it!!
I really really love your DIYS Hermione. Keep up the blissfulness!!
Looks wonderful!
Omg I dont really do pink but I live that room!! Great job!!
Looks fabulous - great colors.
