- Some new GoldenEye footage discovered just today, probably an old preview version for some guide makers. We can see old models in action that we've previously seen on magazines from 1996/1997.

April Fools! There are some inaccuracies here that should give it away - good eye for those that pointed them out! Here's some information:
The weapon names should have their real-world counterpart. The KF7 Soviet was called "Kalashnikov AK47" during development when it had this weapon model. It is also not certain if enemies would have that red splatter instead of the yellow/white one from the final game, or if the olive guards were in Facility alongside the tan ones. Some people brought up the "Spyder" name, but that'd be the Klobb. The Klobb went from Skorpion VZ/61 to the Spyder and finally the Klobb, in reference to Ken Lobb.
This is once again a real tape and no / minimal editing. I let my friend that never really played GoldenEye control Bond here, because if it were me even if I was pretending it'd have been too obvious. To get that old tape feeling I... microwaved it for 15-20 seconds, and damaged some other parts of the tape manually. Before doing this I recorded it before damaging it and again after the damage was done so I could stitch them together.
The beta KF7 model is made by Flargy, you can get it here: n64vault.com/ge-model-templates:beta-kf7-soviet - This is a model template though, not a patch / mod. This is for mod creators to add it to their maps.
The rocket launcher model wasn't released, but I believe it was made by Flargy as well. The rest was recreated by CrashOveride. Some of you may remember this from 2020 when I livestreamed this, but now I wanted to make it more convincing for those that forgot and newcomers. I crashed the game on purpose before entering the lab area because the bottling room would have been a dead giveaway that this is fake, as the tanks are not stacked like they were around the time of this beta.

Awesomely made VHS video, looks uncannily legit too. The hand glitching was probably an issue Rare had and is likely why they changed the Rocket Launcher model.
This was fake? I had a feeling the KF7 model could be remade nowdays but I didn't think it was already made, same for the rocket launcher. Forgot the date too lol. You got me

Regarding the uncertainties involving the splatter and the tan guards: I think only those involved would know for sure, assuming they haven't forgotten by now (or there still isn't an NDA in effect), but I'd imagine it'd be very hard to contact them to ask.

Holy crap so that's what those unused sounds are! It's awesome to see this after all these years.
Original AK looked so much better but I do think the iconic pencil was better for humanity in the end.

The rocket launcher with hand animation is very similar to the rocket launcher with hand in Twine N64.

Bond was holding two hands with the Rocket Launcher, this could be a pre-build version of Perfect Dark.
He was shown holding it like that in some pre-release screenshots.
I really feel like I should do a lightgun rail shooter hack for goldeneye like it was originally going to be before they decided just to make it a FPS.

Font hinting: Picked up a Clarance Beau / B (Buffy) Ends with the realisation it was a Green Giant runner factory for Jenner.
I'm glad they fixed all the issues. But also kinda sad they couldn't find a way to keep the rocket launcher in that mission🤷♂️.

That's pretty interesting! Nice to see how they used to be, there was nothing in that room where you choose to go to the gas tanks or the other side.

I always thought this gun was in the game and was called the spyder because I could never find it despite it being in the manual. I spent forever trying to figure out how to find it as a kid.
The Spyder is the Klobb, it was changed late in development to that.

Love that AK47 sound when firing! Maybe it alerts too many guards but after all the real and original AK47 sound is very discernible.
Yeah, I don't recall hearing the sound of the rifle when shooting or even the steel bathroom doors lol. Still looks cool!

Of course they didn't, that's digitally added fake VHS tape wear and this was obviously just made with the engine to pretend it's "new" beta footage to get views on youtube.

This must have been mind blowing back then, the graphics were way ahead of anything on the n64 at the time.
I have no idea why Rare chose to ditch this AK model and settle for a bent pencil looking one
I actually prefer the AK in this version of the game, than the final one, where we get a pencil gun.

There isn’t a video I can find explaining the missing gun that I believe was called the spyder that’s ok box art but not in final game
The Spyder is the Klobb, they simply changed the names to avoid copyright issues.

I''ve never been a gamer, except for this one game. and even though ive not played it in years it is so engrained in my psyche i can still destroy anyone in multiplayer on the 64 . you could say i'm a natural , lol

I had heard a friend of Flargee and Johnny Thunder supposedly had some beta footage in storage. Was this all of it? Was hoping for something other than Facility, as it has more of the known images.

I guess it hurts a little that we don't have footage of what GoldenEye looked like when it was still a SNES game. Wild to think Rare was actually tryna go for it, they understood the assignment and still was gonna make it happen. It could've been GTA a full year before GTA was a thing. There's so many what-ifs regarding that time you have to wonder what the team was actually aiming for.
Development for GE didn't really start until N64. SNES was just a draft if at all. Even the on-rails videos were all made up and never functional.
I love when you add Mario 64 maps to goldeneye can you every level into a goldeneye map , I would love see baron samedi in sand land or hazy maze cave with the caverns theme
I know the back of the box I got the beta picture of ak - I think the white hit splash was red as well.

It is very convincing.
The only thing that is missing as far as I can see is the beta red colored hit marker.
Probably different stages of beta, they had both the blue bathroom doors and the steel ones, I assume this was further along.
It isn't certain if the red marker made it to this stage of the beta or not, but good eye either way - this was fabricated! More info in the pinned comment.
Idc if this is fake (the name KF7 Soviet was given after the AK-47 model was replaced by the Norinco Type 56), but this looks so good.

It's been a month. Please update the title on your April Fools stuff if you're going to leave it up. I got to this video via recommends probably because I've been watching a lot of your other Goldeneye stuff lately, and this one in particular is frustrating because I could have easily missed the reveal that this is not real.

It is unknown, may have been texture limitations, model optimization, or because Andy Smith, the modeler for that gun and some others left Rare some time around 1996 iirc. Although other of his weapons like the Klobb and textures are still in the game, so most likely limitations or optimization.
