AMEN Angela! We need to start accepting the evolution of our music. The fact that people want to fuse their culture with ours and stop beat it down. That unless its sounds like the Soca from 20 years ago, well its not Soca. Music is evolving and infusing with one another and we need to start accepting that, and be proud that people are seeing what we see in our Soca to want a piece of it. The Bunjis, Machels, Kes' etc. have all been dabbling in the fusion, and its about time we got on the same boat and started supporting it.

Yes, this is true when I grew up in Trinidad we listened to all types of music. When my family and I migrated to America. Black Americas some of them not all only listen to just black music. So that is true. But I love soca music and other types of music as well. I love Angela Haute and Michael Montano "Party Done". My parents are from Trinidad and I grew up in Trinidad but was born in London, England. But I did go to school in Trinidad. I went to Diego Martin R.C. School for girls. Have to go back to Trinidad. I miss it.

That is true Trinidad parents always want to get your education first and be a Doctor, Nurse or an Engineer.

I like Angela Hunte and I love soca and love Trini people. I love caribbean people in general. My mom is from Haiti and I was born and raised here in America. I don't agree with how she tried to make it seem like blacks here in America don't listen to all kinds of music. And to keep it 💯 blacks here in America have probably made one of the largest impacts on the music industry as a whole. So if your talking about music more than likely blacks in America have in some way shape or form invented the kind of music people are listening too. If she just wanted to go to Europe to make certain connections then fine that's coo but I don't agree with her trying to make it seem like blacks in America aren't into other genres of music. Especially NYC. Too many black people out there are into different types of music. Black people as a whole need to stop looking for the white mans stamp of approval or money. Stop looking for them to validate u as an artist. She could've wrote a song for Beyoncé and been just as big.

I have been having this argument with someone for years....we need to embrace the evolution of soca. I mean I think it was inevitable, we have so much communication through the internet, social media, cable television, which allows us to be 'global citizens' everyday, it is only natural that the arts will mirror that global flavour. Since our lives are influenced globally our art will become global also. Besides, look at the history of our country, we have such a rich culture in our small island, why not create fusion music, even our people an example of racial & cultural fusion.

I'm shocked in her interviews she never talks about being in hip-hop videos, The symphony Cool G Rap,Master Ace Big Daddy Kane.or her R& B group 7669 "Fly Away" before she wrote All these songs.

Angela is correct. You are wrong! The word is COPYRIGHT to start with. so when she says copyrighted, she is correct. The word isn't copywrite. So you correcting copywrited with copywritten is foolishness.
