Also it's good to you fishing affordable setups. I thought I was the only one still gettin her done without vanstaals and custum rods. You know what I mean. Not spending 1000$ for one setup. And u still put up the numbers. Just awesome to witness a good angler do what they do.
Thanks Michael Thompson. I really appreciate all the feedback and am glad you found the channel! Its just starting to pick up and really take off so you picked a good time to tune in haha Yeah its never really the rod and reels fault, people throw money at the fish thinking it helps their skills haha
I'm so glad I came across your channel. I love that we fish very much the same. Places for sureove when I recognize a flat or cluster of mangroves. And I love to witness the come up, as u grow the channel and everything progresses.
Thanks Michael. The lagoon should start producing good numbers again soon too so hopefully more action to come. Ive been slacking for about 7 months as i had my first kid but now its back to business.
Great vid Jonny! Is fishing good 2nd week of June? I’m gonna be near Ponce Inlet then looking for advice on fishing backwater or surf.... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Todd, thanks for checkin out the video I'm glad you liked it! Ponce is a great place to get some great fishing in.. its a lot of big jack crevalle, snook and snapper. Grouper, redfish and black drum also love the mangroves, you can find some of the best fishing in June. Beach fishing isn't the best in June for Pompano, but get there early in the AM and youll catch some nice whiting and maybe black/red drum.. I use small hooks, big weights and little pieces of shrimp or clam. Inshore, id use any size live shrimp, either free lined or on a couple pinch weights. Id use about 10lb test, and 30lb leader.
The grass flats? I'm not sure about in Ponce, but if you go to New Smryna Beach and go all the way down to the Canaveral Ntnl Seashore and go down to Parking Lot 5 you can do some good wade fishing N and S of the little boat ramp.
Jonny On the spot ...thanks guy! If I get into some good fish, I try to let you know...if you by chance find yourself looking for somebody to net some fish for you between 6-9 and 6-15 let me know, I’m not a bad camera man either ha ha...my plan is to fish early with top water...I make my own lures. Seriously thanks for the help!
Anytime Todd. I hope you do, ive caught a good few nice redfish and trout off those same shorelines.. just walk down a good ways and try off the shore some. Good luck and alright I may take you up on that buddy. Just give me a holler and remind me youre coming into town. That's pretty awesome, maybe we can make a video and feature some of your lures.
No, not really. I find them equally in smaller 18-20 trout and even smaller redfish just as often, which is quite the rarity either way. Even if you find a worm(s) typically it wont take up much of the fishes flesh and you can cut it right out and still keep the rest of the fish.
Thanks Wade! Yeah I do, I never was a high paced uploader but recently had a kid and have had a little less time lately but am getting back on it soon. Thanks for feeback!!!
I would have to agree, its not been the best since those few hurricanes if you ask me. Almost all of my best flats died off from beautiful grass to total deserts. The fishery has declined without a doubt but I think the grass is starting to come back@@wadebass5600
Jonny On the spot yea it’s a good one but here in south Alabama with our changing crazy weather it’s hard to catch em over 4 lbs on a consistent basis. I’ve just seen your videos over the past couple weeks and seen plenty of big trout caught by you and I’m guessing your wife and caught wade fishing and you weren’t in a million dollar boat! Your a true fisherman and not a fake! We have a lot of fake wannabes here where I live but oh well. Nice free lining action
Hey man, that means a lot, we appreciate that. Anytime you are thnking about coming and fishing the mosquito lagoon, make sure to get ahold of me. Yeah lots of dadies boats and GPS spots already on auto pilot in my area as well. Few are putting fish in the boat, especially right now with the hurricane coming through we had an overflow of a big lake and the run off is causing our grass flats to almost completely die out..luckily, there is still some fishable areas but you've got to fish very hard..thanks a ton and ill have my eye out for any of your new content, best wishes brotha.
Jonny On the spot Weighed about 10 but I didn’t formally weigh it, wrapped a towel on her and froze it. Caught it a day before CCA tournament. Could of had a truck and boat
Damn man, that's bigger than any trout ive ever caught. For now ;) But what tackle did u use? I use 10lb test line and small reels and poles. Even with a bigger spool, these things peel drag.. they have soft mouths also. Better to be light after the hook set with those big trout.
Johny awesome trout I tell you what I can say I find that spot I caught 2 nice trout of 17 and 22 inches check my video it's call fishing challenge result let me know what you think iam going back for more 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
nice that you kept the 1 which was hooked in the throat, so many people toss them back and believe they will survive with the hook still inside.
Thanks Oliver. That's our little keeper rule besides the normal regulations.. If they swallow the hook they go in the cooler! Thanks for watching!

Great video and day out on the water. I have yet to enjoy a day with that much action, but I know it’s coming.
Nice day of catching , enjoyed the way you care for the fish . Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you very much C bird! We really try hard to keep em healthy!
Nice big trout. Are these wintering grounds or spawning grounds for these big trout
Yes they are spawning ground during winter, however they never really eat during that time period.
Nice fish. Epic day on the water for sure.

Jonny On the spot ...is there a decent spot where I could park and wade fish some of those flats?
The grass flats? I'm not sure about in Ponce, but if you go to New Smryna Beach and go all the way down to the Canaveral Ntnl Seashore and go down to Parking Lot 5 you can do some good wade fishing N and S of the little boat ramp.

Nice video. Love fishing.
thanks so much!
Hi Jonny, #123 for you and a like. Thanks mate
Do you find worms in your larger trout? In NW Fla, most trout over 20 inches are going to have worms. Also, what model GoPro are you using?
No, not really. I find them equally in smaller 18-20 trout and even smaller redfish just as often, which is quite the rarity either way. Even if you find a worm(s) typically it wont take up much of the fishes flesh and you can cut it right out and still keep the rest of the fish.
The Go Pro Hero Session. Its the small black cube. You need an extreme SD card, but once you have one it works great.
Very nice trout. great video. subscribed
Thanks my friend
Great video
Nice vid. Do you still have your channel going
Thanks Wade! Yeah I do, I never was a high paced uploader but recently had a kid and have had a little less time lately but am getting back on it soon. Thanks for feeback!!!
I fish the lagoon a lot, was wondering if you feel the water quality has gone completely to he'll the last year or so

Why do you keep your drag so loose??? I've never fought a trout that long before.
You ever got one over 5lbs?
Jonny On the spot I got a 33” one on my wall I caught 2 years ago
Jonny On the spot Weighed about 10 but I didn’t formally weigh it, wrapped a towel on her and froze it. Caught it a day before CCA tournament. Could of had a truck and boat
