I prefer the Zorin Light Blue theme myself. You'll have to use extensions to get the layouts similar but the themes will be intact.
I am super excited for the release of Zorin OS 16 on the 17th of August 2021! Zorin OS is the distro that finally made me consider Linux over Windows and macOS. I have distro hopped since, but that was mainly due to hardware compatibility issues with the Linux kernel version in Zorin OS 15.3. I have a special place in my heart for Zorin OS, and I think I may return to it with version 16. My hardware testing with the Beta version proved successful and everything worked.
The price tag for pro version is really not that bad .. help the developers out .. they did good work .. and for anyone looking to switch from Windows, it's a good distro
Zorin looks really nice but I don't like distros that don't roll or at least give us the option of upgrading to its next version, like Pop!_OS does. I really don't want to have to reinstall everything whenever a new version comes out.

They seem to have their own panel extension for all that. That said, however, the configuration options look, to me, like a combo of Dash-to-Panel and ArcMenu. To be honest, you could probably install both of those on a stock Ubuntu and get much the same feel.
i tried zorin for a day but went back to windows for 2 reasons..1) i couldn't connect my airpods pro out of the box, it kept disconnecting. 2) coming from windows precision its touchpad was huge downgrade and overall system animation wasn't as smooth as win 10 :/
Let's say, a noob like me, buys the pro version not only for software but also for support, and then some time later they release zorin 17 pro, will i be able to upgrade for free or will I have to buy it again 0.0
I've seen this question come up in their forums. It's a pay again policy. No discounts, no free upgrade. Pay full price for each new Pro version stable release. Even rip off Microsoft didn't gouge for more license fee revs to upgrade from Win7 to Wn10 like these two brothers are doing with their reskinned Ubuntu. 😡 And their release cycle is like 18 months behind Canonical. 👎
Yeah i’m actually having the same volume/mic issues with Pop!OS. Changes on boot and it’s a pain having to constantly go to the settings to change it. Other than that i’m loving Pop!OS otherwise i’d give zorin a try but I just got into linux and don’t wanna be a distro hopper 😭
With all due respect, part of using Linux is distro hopping. If you don't try several you may always wonder if you are using the one that's actually right for you. It's also beautiful that all you really need is a free thumb drive (or virtual machine) to take some distro for a test drive. Personally I love the asthetic of Pop! OS but I've never actually found it to be the right fit for me. (I've tried it out probably 3 separate times). Elementary OS was my distro for nearly three years and I've recently hopped to Mint and I'm liking it. Sorry for the long-winded comment. Enjoy whatever you decide on. 👍

If you dont want that much preinstalled apps get core if you dont mind it and want to support zorin get the pro one
Does anyone know what does zorin use for its default windows-like menu? I like it a lot
They seem to have their own panel extension for all that. That said, however, the configuration options look, to me, like a combo of Dash-to-Panel and ArcMenu. To be honest, you could probably install both of those on a stock Ubuntu and get much the same feel.
Do jelly bean mode work & what about battery life on laptop?
Couldn't you just install those packages from terminal?
Nice Video
Looks really nice.
i tried zorin for a day but went back to windows for 2 reasons..1) i couldn't connect my airpods pro out of the box, it kept disconnecting. 2) coming from windows precision its touchpad was huge downgrade and overall system animation wasn't as smooth as win 10 :/
I'll stick with POP OS...
Can't we just download the software of Zorin pro for Zorin core?
@@chairman67 i think I'll stay with pop or some other distro. Is there one that is more favourable for gaming? I am not the productive type lol
@@spillsndebris oh no I actually do quite enjoy trying all the different ones from my usb. But I am actually gaming on my linux and I don’t want to have to reinstall games constantly mainly because of my data cap. Which i’m sure there are ways to backup and stuff but for now pop!os is it for my main desktop!
Pop OS never seemed to work for me, I tried it a few times, something just seems missing or an issue pops up. On debian side, linux mint seemed to be the best for me still after all these years
great video, I downloaded Zorin core tried to run youtube but was very glitchy any tips regarding settings I have 24gb ram 12core processor allocated 6gb ram and 4processors still glitchy. mmmmm many thx.
Do you have an nvidia gpu? Nvidia is known for being buggy on Linux
so it's just another debian distro but with crappy GUI instead? ...
One of the biggest turn offs about most Linux Distros is their blurry out of focus display fonts. This is one of the many features where Mac OS excels in.
M'kay. So you haven't used Zorin. What is your point?
