Her first wedding dress was very beautiful on her. It's unfortunate that everything went wrong for her on her day.
Agreed her 1st dress was beautiful but in her mind it wasn't.. a lot of these gowns were equally beautiful. But it's hard to see beauty in yourself when you living in a negative mindset. That's definitely the most difficult thing to overcome.
The dress was beautiful and she looked great on it. Now she comes back with more weight and unrealistic expectations.
Pretty sure NOT everything went wrong on her day. That was a very good dress for her and she's degrading it.
This girl doesn't need another dress. This girl needs therapy. If the glass isn't full 100%, to her it's totally empty. My best guess is, that she's dissatisfied with life, because she's actually dissatisfied with herself.
This bride really needs a store that specializes in fitting plus-size brides. There are structural things that can be built into gowns for bigger women that flatter and enhance the good aspects of their figures. That said this could very much be a mental block she had.

It really annoys me that they always act like dresses for plus sizes are so few and hard to find. Most of the women in the western world require larger sizes. Why aren’t they making and selling dresses to accommodate them?

I feel for this woman. I had to rent my wedding gown 35 years ago; as a plus size woman there just wasn't anything available in the bridal salons. I wasn't happy on my wedding day either. I'm glad we have people like Jo & Al now; & Gok, he designs gown while woman is wearing it! Note; these people AREN'T in the USA 🇺🇸. American designers need to open up their eyes; there's a market out there for curvy brides. The average American woman is NOT a size 6.
I'm an obese woman and I felt Jessica, Randy, and Joan did their very best given the budget. Two grand is a lot of money for most of us though we do see many of their customers spending thousands more. I tend to think Randy was right; this lovely customer was so fearing having another fiasco that nothing was good enough. I felt a couple of them looked quite nice on her but if she doesn't see that there's not much anyone can do. I certainly hope she was eventually successful in finding a gown. I feel for everyone involved.
$2000 for a wedding dresse is decent, but she should’ve shopped somewhere else. Kleinfeld is it the place for a $2000 budget when your plus sized.

I'm a US size 22, and I would recommend to brides shopping for their dream gown to wear your best foundation garments, an approximation of the hair you'll have the day of, and your absolute favorite makeup look when you shop. Stick with no statement jewelry to distract from the looks, too.

I thought she looked great in her first wedding dress. It wasn't that bad that it HAUNTS her. In fact, the first wedding dress was better than all the 11 ones that she tried on here.
it wasn't as bad as some of the dresses she tried on but it still didn't flatter her. i understand why she was unhappy with it, part of the reason i keep watching these is to try and figure out what dress i could get that would look better on me than my actual wedding dress did.
Thought the same. I also don't get the idea of vow renewals in the US. To me it's just wasting money. You have a wedding and your vows and promises are meant to be for the rest of your lives together as a couple. No need to repeat them again and again.

There’s a lot going on in this appointment. I think she looked lovely in her original dress! So, her wedding wasn’t what she dreamed of but that was four years ago. She seems to not know what she wants or what will best suit her body. The problem isn’t her budget. I totally agree with Randy when he said she is her own worse enemy. I really hope that she has moved on, with or without her renewal ceremony.
In this episode, Jessica is the name of the consultant, not the name of the bride. And once again, Kleinfeld is not the place to go for plus-size or less-expensive dresses. If you're a larger-sized bride with a smaller budget, go elsewhere.

IMO she looked lovely in her original gown and Dress #11 looked quite lovely too. The other dresses were the ugliest on any show. Too bad Jo and Al's Curvy Boutique is across the pond because they have gorgeous plus size gowns. Kleinfelds should expand its plus size selection!!! While the staff was polite and sympathetic, by not having plus sizes, the store was saying "our store carries only smaller sizes."
Jo and Al cater to plus sizes beautifully and Klienfelds caters to smaller sizes beautifully. You should go to the stores that are for your size to get the best results.

@Karen Houser I agree. Her low budget made it really hard for her to find her dress. Kleinfeld doesn't have any designers who actually design exclusively for bigger bodies. I know Christian Siriano does, and he has designs there, but he is way over $2000.
I think she should have gone to a plus-size wedding dress store, and possibly outside NYC. But I also think she should have done a little more research into the style of dress that looked good on her and where to find that kind of dress. Brides who prep well usually find what they're looking for.
Randy is right her expectations are so high and IMO she is constantly disappointed with how she sees herself in the mirror. My advice to her would be to put off the renewal until she can budget more for the dress and seriously consider weight loss because until she gets a body that she can admire she will never find a gown. I am saying this from her perspective since she seems unhappy with how she looks. It was my impression that she was hoping to find a dress that made her look sleeker so I think she needs to budget more.
No Randy is NOT right. Plus size or no any woman should be thrilled with her wedding gown. Watch Jo and Al Curvy Brides. Almost every bride coming through their shop has issue with their size but the dresses there are BEAUTIFUL with a lot of shapes and silhouettes these women care about their clients and how they feel. Kleinfeld's should take a page from their book.
@@susanelrawi7080 I agree that everyone should find the dress of their dreams and feel beautiful but one thing we don't know about Curvey Brides is the cost of the gowns. Money is never mentioned. I think one of the things that Randy meant was that her expectations exceed the amount of money she has to spend. I think the staff tried very hard to find her a dress with very little to go on from the bride and I believe the consultant was right in that she did not know what she wanted. It sounds like with her first wedding more things went wrong than went right so she has a lot of negative memories and that can be very difficult to overcome. I still feel that she did not like what she saw in the mirror which is a shame. Being a plus size woman I can understand why shopping is not always very pleasant. I think Kleinfeld's problem is that they have gowns in plus sizes but not plus size gowns that are designed especially for plus sizes like at Curvey Brides, not just larger sizes in their existing inventory. Gowns designed for plus sizes have different and more appropriate structure to compliment a plus size figure.
@@gracielou1407 at the same time, though, kleinfeld's is a very high-end bridal shop. ideally they would show her dresses that WOULD make her look amazing and then she could go price-shopping to find something similar for cheaper somewhere else. but kleinfeld's doesn't make a sale that way so she'll just have to do it the hard way - browse ebay and give the seamstress overseas her measurements 🤷♀
@@dietotaku I think they showed her the best they had in her price range but most of the gowns were too flowy and lacked structure. You are right in that she might be better off searching the market for bridal shops specializing in plus sizes.

Why is she putting herself through this? She’s happily married and only for four years. Give it 20 years and then renew vows. Renewing vows and spending time and money after four years is just plain silly!

This firm are not uniquely larger size specialists. She needs the American equivalent of our Essex pair who specifically work with brides who are Large and beyond. They are psychologists as much as bridal fashion experts and truly wonderful human beings.
dress #10 looked so pretty on her though! she looked like a goddess in that. But being overweight and insecure myself, I can totally see why sometimes we fail to see beauty in ourselves. It's hard.

Kleinfeld does not have any flattering dresses for plus size women. There was this episode of a preacher's daughter when they actually raised the price and the chosen gown was still a big fail. Compare the dresses in the UK shop for big women and one can see the difference.
That dress was awful on her body, yet very exorbitant. Not even Randy could rescue that situation.
I remember that one. It was a Pnina dress. Great dress but it still looked terrible on her.

This Jessica the consultant in this episode was really trying high and low to find something for this client, hope they didn't cut her bonus or something for letting the client go with no purchase. I think that the budget was the main obstacle here, to select something with enough wow factor to overcome her insecurities.

"Renewal" of the vows. Were the original ones stale? Molded? Damaged goods? Expired after less than 4 years? Plus I absolutely love her REAL wedding dress!
So many people have nothing in this world. They can't afford 1 wedding dress. And here is someone to spend another big amount on a wedding dress, that is not even a wedding dress. Her wedding was 4 years ago. I can't help but find this very self-centered. Maybe she would be more happy, if she'd help others have a small dream come true, instead of totally focusing on her big day, which was already.
Al and Jo would have had her fitted in the perfect dress in a jiffy. Klienfields and staff really needs to get up to speed with the larger sized dresses and fittings. So so many brides are not skinny Lizzies any more.

None of the dresses she tried on were good enough. I think she looked lovely in her original dress. As a plus size person myself i think it's more to do with how you see in the mirror than the dresses themselves. A plus size specialist would be better as they have more idea.
American brides don't need to go abroad. There's a wonderful store in Chicago (sorry, I forgot the name), and I can't believe that it's the only shop that specializes in larger size gowns. If it is, most brides are really in trouble. Sad

A lot of the dresses really looked good on her, I think she is confused I don't think she knows what she wants. She wants her dress but she needs to be specific with what she wants.

Last 2 dresses looked best. Pretty, and suited her body type. Definitely needs dress with straps. I can't see spending time looking for misery when there are other things to be happy about. If she really wants a Dress to light her firecrackers , she needs to go visit Jo, or Wok.

I think her wedding dress looked pretty good….maybe she needs to work at getting into that dress made back to its original size before they took it out to fit when she gained weight…….. I was a very big woman and after struggling for years to lose weight I had gastric sleeve surgery and lost most of my excess weight but stopped losing when the loose skin became a bigger issue than those last few kilos…. I think it could help her lose weight if she can live without eating as she used to .
I think she was right. They kept making reference to her size and budget. It is their fault if they don’t carry enough of a size range. It’s not her size. It’s their stock. And the reference to a “perfect size 6 or size 2” Big difference between the two. Who decides what’s perfect? Christian Siriano never makes clients feel like their body is inconvenient. That is completely unnecessary. You should strive to sell as many gowns to as many customers as possible. I see a lot of fat people wearing wedding bands out there. You are missing out on $$$.

I love it how the bride is fierce and doesn't settle just because she's on a budget and a non standard size and I totally disagree with Randy this time: this bride did not have trouble finding the dress cause she's her own worst enemy, she didn't find it cause you made it look like her size and budget forbid her to have even one decent dress out of thousends in the story (though I agree with some of the comments that say that's not the right salon for her). I think the last couple of dresses were of the right style for her, she looked good in them, so the consultants should have shown her those ones much earlier on and jacked her up with a veil or something to give her the vibes of the complete look as an actual bride. The dress she got on her wedding is nice and looks good on her, but I can see why, linked to bad memories, she wants something completely different now.

Yeah that second the last dress is very pretty on her.... She just doesn't like her body 🤔 and being a plus size woman myself I can understand her fear.... but you have to see what looks nice on you and accept it and accept your body for the way it is.
I liked the last 2, especially the 2nd to last. That being said, ballgown would've been better on her than some of those dresses. When you're a larger size, dresses that cut at the hip/butt area don't do any favors. Have the skirt start at the natural waist or an empire waist. Or for the more mermaid direction, have it kick out at about the knees, but anything at hips and thighs are not going to work. I hope she found her dress.
I have gained a lot of weight after the pandemic and giving birth to my son, since then it’s hard to be happy with how clothes fit on me.
I can understand why this lady is not happy with the dresses as she has gained more weight than when she first got married 4 years ago.
Perhaps its time to have a healthy diet to get back to the size she’s comfortable with before picking a wedding dress. As many mentioned, she’s already married so there’s no real rush after just 4 years, maybe wait another year like 5 years?
I think some cap sleeves (fluttery mid length) would have really suited her.
A lot of these dresses looked beautiful on her and fitted her plus-sized shape but I think it's her self-deception. For a renewal she could've just gotten a beautiful bridesmaids dress or an evening gown. Tbh, she could find a beautiful dress at this store or someplace else, but until she learns to control her eating and emotional wellbeing it will be the same thing. No dresses will be good enough as long as you see yourself unworthy to wear them. Smh

I feel like say yes to the dress is really trying to meet the demand that Jo and Al have created in the viewers. Literally nobody could ever replace them. Randy's a doll but he definitely does not know how to deal with these plus size brides the way he does with the size twos.
I truly hope she found what she was looking for. I really wish they did a “where are they now” kind of thing to see what happened but maybe that’s just me being nosy and getting attached to the idea of people’s dreams coming true
This bride needs to love herself more. The dresses looked beautiful on her but she hated every single dress and at that point the problem is the brides opinion of herself. She even stated she hated how she looked on her original wedding day. It’s time for her to learn to love herself

All the dresses looked the same but no dress will be right for her as she’s not comfortable in her head with anything she’s sees on herself. She should get a lovely plain, flattering dress & jacket, I couldn’t see anything wrong with her original wedding dress but I could see plenty of things wrong with the wedding photos. This is utterly appalling. If she had gone to Jo and Al in England, she would have had dresses that looked amazing, and in different pinks, whites, creams, greys... They have had at least 2 purple wedding dresses that were stunning, as well as red - and black and black and white. and not that hideous flesh underwear colour this store claimed was pink.
Given the huge numbers of obese Americans, it is shameful that these stores stock such small numbers of dresses and stock hideously made dresses that do nothing to flatter.
Given the American love of capitalism, it utterly stuns me that nobody has set up a supreme bridal store for women size 16 plus.
I know 16 is a different size in America - but I don't know it. The rest of the world knows my reference.
There needs to be expert fitters who understand what fits and flatters all the shapes that go with a size...
A short, heavy breasted woman, to a tall smaller breasted woman who are officially the same size - and everything in between. This shop should actually admit they don't care about big women and stop wasting their time and giving them such horrendous, depressing experiences.
They just shove them into anything. They have no idea what suits, what can be done - they stock hideous dresses because they just shove anything on these fat women.

I am guessing that the fabric and alterations would have taken this woman way over budget. Is this all just for show? The poor client. They also had to know that stocking a few larger dresses would have enabled her to see the dresses in a better light. She said that her original dress did not fit. Wow .Poor salesmanship . Thankfully they were very polite.
So many salons that carry bigger sizes.. Kleinfelds selection is small. Any designer who wont make bigger sizes or diff colors when people are spending thousands, sucks. No reason to size people out of their dream dress

lots of us heavy women hate our bodies, but if the bridal industry hasn't figured out how to make dresses that make us look fantastic that's on them.
I just don’t get the whole idea of spending so much money for a vow renewal, especially after just a few years. If I had the money i would much rather take a fabulous trip with my husband.
I agree and I also can't understand why people go for the full bridal gown for a renewal. Don't they feel a bit daft walking down the aisle in all that when they are already married? She could have looked very stylish say in a fifties style gown with a little hat and veil and made the whole thing fun instead of all this stress for nothing.
Given that it's only been 4 years, I think she wanted a do-over more than a renewal. Personally, I'd spend my money on something else, but each to their own. I hope her second ceremony met her expectations and helped her heal from the first one!
... I don't understand the point of vow renewals at all. The vows I said 30 years ago are good enough. I would spend the extra money on a great holiday too.

@Nicole Fox I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you ladies and I'll tell you why because most people that get married don't even make it through the first year of marriage let alone the first 10 years and half end in divorce. The initial wedding is actually less important than a vowel renewal because you haven't even started the real work yet which is the marriage not a wedding. The vowel renewal is especially important because it shows that you have made it over tremendous milestones and still have come out strong and still in love that's what it represents. This is coming from a woman who has been married for almost 10 years now and in a almost 20 year long relationship and yes I also will be renewing my vows too because it is just as important if big even more important. 😉

if she doesn't have $2000 for a dress, guaranteed she doesn't have the money for a plane ticket overseas (to say nothing of how much jo & al charge for their dresses, which is never mentioned on the show - probably because they're super expensive).

I bet that those dresses are way over $2000. Remember that the same number in pounds equals a higher dollar price.
For the extra fabric, pattern changes, and better structural components, there is a lot of additional cost. There is a reaaon why the budget and price of the gowns are never mentioned on the show.
And just because all the brides on the show find their dresses there doesn't mean that all the brides who go there always find their dresses. The ones who are on the show usually use this shop as a last-minute stop because they couldn't find anything anywhere else. So they have lowered expectations AND an increased budget because of the time constraints.

Have her try a dress that is not strapless!! Why are all dresses strapless?? I use to design wedding gowns. Get her in a body foundation before the dress.
I love dress #10, her entourage loves it too, I don't get why she doesn't, then when she found a dress she thinks she loves but her entourage doesn't, she also won't take it, yup, the problem is with her, I get that she doesn't want to settle for just anything, but maybe she needs to lower her expectations or raise her budget. I hope she did find her dress.
Plus size Brides should not be shopping at Kleinfeld. They have limited options for them. They deserve a positive experience where they have a choice of dresses.
Well part of the problem is that unless they specialize kleinfeld is probably going to have a better selection than a small boutique.
@@ebony7177 Wrong. Kleinfeld's specializes in wedding dresses. A store their size and seemingly limitless options for smaller sizes could and should do much more for plus size brides. Kleinfeld's is not some small town mom and pop wedding store, they're a huge NY long standing business who are disproportionate in styles,volume and prices when it comes to plus sizes. They need to take a page from Jo and Al.

@@susanelrawi7080 They have a great number of dresses for plus size but as a business for every plus size they probably have 2-5 times more in the 8-14/16. So as a plus size I would love for them to have more but between bottom line and not many designers doing sample or dresses for larger sizes it's not fair but it's reality. Also Randy was correct, even when shopping for regular clothes as a plus size I know I don't get the luxury of 20 dollar jeans, 2k is too little for more options.
@@ebony7177 First please keep in mind Bridalwear runs smaller than standard sizes so there's a built-in disadvantage right there. Second, proportionately the amount of larger dresses are far less than 10-14 sized dresses, and the few plus sizes they have are ugly and not at all flattering. I urge you to watch Jo and Al Curvy Boutique in the UK. Those ladies are nothing short of amazing and they have beautiful flattering dresses in all silhouettes. Please give it 10 minutes of your time and you will agree with me.
