When i heard the battle theme for the kanto gym leaders in this game for the first time i got hyped.
It really does slap
The Kanto gym battle remix is something no game in the entire franchise can replicate. The song is just outrageous. This really was a golden era for gamefreak. Everything turned into masterclass.

I would usually smack all the Kanto gym leaders with my OP Typhlosion.
The HGSS version was even better than the original, in my opinion!
They tried once. They almost succeeded, but it was a remake, not a main main series game
@@empoleon1001 to me the soundtrack wasn't as good, but the game was definitely better in some aspects (like having abilities and a safari zone)
The only pokemon games I ever played were Pokemon yellow (never got close to completing it), pokemon black, (I always defeat the gym leaders but the elite four ia to hard), and Pokemon shield (completed it once).

The Gym leader I like is Blue because he was the 2nd strongest person closest to Red.
Like with the Johto Gym Leaders, I don't care too much for the ones from Kanto, but unlike the former group, I have no problem with anybody from Kanto. I like that Brock and Misty were Ash's first two companions. It's interesting that Lt. Surge was in a war before becoming a gym leader. I think Erika is fine. Same for Koga and Janine. It's also interesting that Sabrina discovered her psychic powers as a child. I like that Blaine has a quiz in his first gym. I like that Giovanni was both Team Rocket's leader and the Viridian Gym Leader, and it's nice that Poophead27 now has that spot.

So I've already expressed how I feel about Blue in this game, but I've gotta say. Can't help but feel sorry for Blaine. The fact that he's forced to reside in a cave because his Gym burned down... it really sucks for him. Least he's still going strong nevertheless.

I forgot before Gen 3 came along and Abilities were introduced, a move like Dig or Earthquake can be effective against Poison, so putting a Gengar up against a Pokemon that knows this move is dangerous.

Nintendo was thinking put and end on this franchise with 2nd generation ..thats why kanto and johto together .. but we and She knows this is much more than a game .. fantastic concept , amazing masterpiece , since Gold became Gold . A Titan Franchise

Now that I found out several years ago that Crystal wasn't the first game that came out, that makes me wonder something: What happened to Blue's starter from Red/Blue?
He gave his starter to Red
Or maybe Red stole it from Blue. Either way does make sense though. As a kid, I've always thought that since Blue was so mean to Red until he beat him, Red would get him back by stealing his starter.
Well, it would be cool if Blue's starter depended on the player's starter

Since gsc is a sequel to yellow, pikachu was Red's starter and blue had an eevee

Blue and sabrina are probably the only hard gym leaders in kanto, all the others imo aren't too bad

Brock is my favriote because he is defensive. Im a defensive bug User but I don't use rock types. My favriote Gym leaders are Burgh, Bugsy, and Brock
When you like using Defensive Bug Types you use Shuckle ,right?

I’m sure this is probably answered already but why is Blue a Gym leader? Did Red turn down the option to be champion or did Blue get dethroned by Lance?
the position was open after giovanni left, and blue was more than qualified as a Champion. after a bit of back and forth between red and blue for the title of champion, they both decided to move on, with Blue becoming the Viridian gym leader and Red going to mt. silver to continue training. it's never said outright what happened to Lorelei and Agatha, but agatha was pretty old (around Professor Oak's age) and so probably retired... or, y'know, she died, being a Ghost-type master and all that. Lorelei probably went back to her hometown of four island, and with no strong trainers coming to take the position, Lance became the interim Champion for 3 years until he was defeated by Gold/Ethan/Kris/Lyra. Koga, Will, and Karen joined the Elite Four, blah blah blah... yea that's about everything lol

Sabrina in pkmn y/r/b is much stronger than sabrina here while misty in pkmn y/r/b is much weaker than misty here

May have been only in crystal where blue says this. Gold and silver you could only be a boy, in this you can be boy or girl so they likely generalized it as Johto Champ

Gengar is ghost/poison and gen 2 didn't have abilities so no levitate
