I have traded ATCs for 14 years now, and I have a wonderful collection of tiny pieces of original art - it's one of the best things that I have done in my life, discovering ATCs - I have tons of beautiful art (both ATCs and bigger pieces), gifted and traded, my own art has developed and grown so much through the years, and I've made good friends around the world, I hope to one day be able to go to the US and Canada to visit some of them! Trading ATCs is a lot cheaper than buying ACEO, if you are pinching pennies, they basically cost you the price of a stamp, and the work of making cards to trade with. If you already make art, you already have the materials you need, if you don't, you need to buy some, depending on your media of choice, of course. Fortunately a little goes a long way, since they are so small (I have small paint bottles that have lasted for over ten years, and they are still half full) - a pad of heavy w/c paper (I like 300 gms), a small set of watercolours, a few tubes/bottles of acrylic paint (you can use cheaper craft paints too) or oil paint, a set of oil pastels, a set of markers, a set of coloured pencils - whatever media you like! Oh, and a package of card sleeves, to keep them safe in the mail. That's basically what you need, but I know - art supplies have a tendency to multiply... Also, you don't have to be a painter to make ATCs, recently I have cross-stitched a few cards as well - all materials and media go, as long as the size stays 2.5"x3.5"! So yes - making and trading ATCs is a super cheap and super fun hobby, and I couldn't recommend it more! And if you want to see my collection, I have made a video too! ua-cam.com/video/hVhsFE4i-xI/v-deo.html
I'm an artist and I make ACEO art and I was curious about what buyers may do with my aceo art. Now I have an idea. Thank you for your video and for sharing your beautiful collection of art. I love that you are displaying or storing the pieces in a special way and you're taking care of them.
@@alongthewayjj I am currently on Ebay and had some holiday themed aceos. I have opened an Etsy shop recently. I need to put more inventory in there though. On Ebay I am Bargains90 On Etsy Https://www.etsy.com/shop/HeARTsterCreations Next year, 2021, I want to focus a lot more on my art. So hopefully I will have new and fun things listed.
XD I'm an ACEO cartooner; my cards are always free, save for my annual sale in which I offer anywhere from one to four cards for auction. I always begin at one penny with free shipping.
Hi~ Thank you for review your collections! And thank you for introducing the details about ACEO. I came from one of the movie card collectors. I really enjoy collecting autographs and sketches. I began to collect ACEO cards when I found a few on eBay for the first time, it's really cool.
Depends in the seller. They are all really good about sending in protective case or shipping package. We put them right into a protective sleeve or hard case if they don't come with one. If you do get one damaged just reach out to seller with some photos and ask for a new one or refund. Thanks for watching!
Gouache is an opaque watercolor. It is watercolor but it is opaque. Whereas paint labeled watercolor is transparent. Gouache and watercolor contain the exact same pigments, binders, etc. The difference being Gouache pigments are ground large. While pigments used in watercolor are ground more finely. Watercolor is the most difficult medium to paint with there is for many reasons and transparency is one of them. The easiest to paint with is acrylic and oil. With all that being said I sure hope you aren't paying much for those art cards. People these days think they should be paid for breathing. Prints shouldn't be paid for at all. Especially if the original was created on UA-cam. The artist is already being compensated, FOR LIFE, I might add. We used to trade art cards for free. The purpose of art cards was to show our work, style, etc. They were our business card sort of speak. If you are paying more than $5.00 for the art trading cards shame on the artist. Shame.
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for explaining & sharing your passion for ACEO art.
Very nice collection - thanks for showing
Thanks!!

As someone who paints and collects football cards this is so cool I’m gonna hopefully buy a bunch of these panels soon
