@@balvin8524 Has DauT declined that much? He is so much older. He just got overtaken by a few even better players when the game started to get more popular. But he's always kind of been the way he is now, relatively low APM, not the best micro, great macro player & strategist. Hanging in there with the 2nd half of the top 10 for Idk how many years.

You were really close, i think if you don't throw that Arena game it could have gone either way in the final game, regardless to that you did amazing! You made Hera bleed so that's good for your confidence forward! Keep working hard G.O.A.T! Grinding the 1's ladder really paid of this tournament i think!
Yeah honestly he was neck-and-neck with Hera for most of it, although with a couple key mistakes. Everyone wants the W, but it was a performance to be proud of.
Hera still had Chinese for that last game he would have had to win one of the other matchups as well because Chinese on the 9 villager start is basically a free win
@@baconliontigers985 Indeed, but like he said Arabia would have been different if he didnt feel defeated after the Arena or rather fatigued. So Arabia could have been different, also maybe the Burgundian game would be different aswell. We never know, i just have a feeling he would feel better about the next few games if he didnt throw the arena game. Losing that kinda game you know you threw is hard mentaly

Seems like you underestimated the power of cav - hussars in arena, cav archers in sacred springs, scouts on alpine. Lack of mobility played a big role on the losses.
Not sure it's that simple. In arena and sacred springs he just didn't know he was ahead in economy and thus didn't make the decisions that would have come from that knowledge.

I do not agree with berbers being better than gurjaras. If viper played to center or did not missplay the major fight on the left he were winning every fight every time that game
I was gutted for you when he hit those bombard cannons on arena. You are right it wasn't a throw. In my experience bombard cannons walk in a line but on this occasion they decided to make a tiny triangle and Hera got a perfect shot at the right time. With that win we would have seen a game 9. Unfortunate but a great final, thanks to you both.
Yes Castle on the gold in the game before and no suicide bombards ! That could have changed everything. Great final anyways

Did you see Hera's video how he handled a forward castle push by Yo as Portuguese on arena?
Hera will always expand outwards and he said Yo's mistake was not to prevent his expansion earlier which would have solidified complete map control and prevented him from re-booming for his counter-attack. Hera did the exact same thing here which made me wonder, do you think that it was more the position of your 3rd forward castle which should have been used to deny map control or the fact that you built the 3rd forward castle at that time in the first place?
He didn’t need the third castle - he needed to slow the game down and make a directional push once he had tech advantage

Whenever I see pros play Bulgarians in a tournament, they always make the same mistake but its very rare when the casters call it out, the player loses and people think the civ is bad due to poor tournament performance. THe mistake I'm referring to is being addicted to Kreposts. You can see that in late castle age, after building 5-6 kreposts, Viper ran out of stone and couldn't afford a castle. The casters were excited by the krepost rush, but its just very easy to stop with imp, a castle in a defensive spot the other person would want anyway, and 1 treb. Without a castle, you're just making generic knights, and usually stuck in early imp with konniks that you can't upgrade. Early imp bulgarians should be much better than Magyars, especially in this kind of 5 TC game where you can afford all of the upgrades. But pros always forget about making a castle and miss out on 1) Stirrups 2) Elite upgrade and 3) trebs, all of which is a killer in early imp.
Don't like the meso american tech tree, they've got ass techs.
The Armenians Longswords game: just a few seconds after you concluded that the mule carts are bait, you swooped 250 resources ahead of Daut because the vills taking deer were all full of meat.
Definitely not bait in that case, significant enough eco lead for sure. And more food.
In the Daut Arena game, Viper is surprised at how few villagers Daut has. That's because Daut wasn't producing vills for a solid 15 minutes.

in game time 26:30 , its still 50:50, just 1 minute later Nicov lead by 17 villagers and score its leading bigger to 500 difference
so as the times go on, Nicov should win by economic and produce more units , then secure the map and push and destroy you

Arena Turks all-in: I love Khmer against turks on arena. Their ability to shit out units with their incredibly fast eco setup is so nice there imo. Even against FIMP. Problem just is that they are shit if the turk player switches approaches, your lategame is so terrible for arena
Turks don't even get Pikes, so elephants are an actual option against them

Farming eco is a duble counting in the total RES collected, in early game the one that use the wild animal has more real avaible resouces but the total res collected are lower compared to cut down tree and use that to generate food (since the wood from tree in counted in res collected, even if is not actually used). Is a bait indicator in early game (one nice things that they can do is actually remouve wood use for farm in the res coll)
They should add a farms created stat so you could account for this. This also applies to resource analysis of Saracen gold to buy food strats.
@@rosschristofferson6084 or just create a new stat like "combat res" where you take the RES COLL and subtract all the res used for create more res (like farm, villager, all eco upgrade and building etc..).
This is a thing in economics, counting intermediate goods results in overstating a country's GDP, so it's something best avoided.
@@giacomorosina7804 don't think villager and eco should count towards combat res since having more vill is actually advantage whereas using wood to trade farm is literally just converting the resource

at the moment its just that Viper's skill gap compared to top 3-15 its very high, but also the skill gap between Hera (1) and Viper (2) its also very high, there's no match for Hera at the moment, and i dont think there will be in an short time
Actual problem here, for me, seems to be that Viper atm. is not professional enough with his approach (eg. "I didnt know berbers match with gujara camels, armenians was bait etc.). You two with Hera are somewhat similar in skill, albeit different strenghts, but those kind of surprises are not something that should happen in tournaments you wanna win.
That said, its more THE viper than you have been in ages

Better for sure but unbeatable is exagerated given how close (and probably even a smidge Viper favoured two losses in the finals were)
Viper has proved this wrong again, he is not unbeatable, can go 50/50 between them both.
@@enigmaaoe3503 Nah, when Viper was winning his games he had to struggle really hard. When Hera was wining his games it was dominant advantage - and it was Viper's best performance since RBW win. It's definitely not 50/50, Hera has clear advantage. I'm glad Viper managed to close the gap somewhat tho.
