That's what psychedelics are still meant for, and you can use them as tools to reach that state, but you have to create the specific intention and do it in sacred space.

You really got me there, Peter, I didn't finish the book, but I did read "The Road to Eleusis: Unveiling the Secrets of the Mysteries", which was written over 30 years ago and just so happens to make all the same exact speculative claims of ergot being used for ritualistic hallucination. Of course, they only found traces on a tooth and a cup, which could have been there for various reasons that go completely ignored in order to shoe-horn in their hypothesis. Ergot poisoning was just a little too common in those days and so was art that depicted inaccurate versions of reality. Go fecking figure. LOL:)
