- Опубліковано 19 січ 2022
- After surviving a car accident when she was a child, Alexia is forced to live with a titanium plate inside her head. She then grows up to be a fearless woman who, for some inexplicable reason, is attracted to vehicles. Alexia is a killer, too, but her life changes when she gets pregnant, and her journey only gets odd upon meeting a firefighter who's been looking for his son for years.

I feel like this movie is a very clear analogy for what it feels like for a woman to survive serious trauma. She got raped by the guy who kissed her in the parking lot, and she blocked it out by replacing that memory with one of pleasure- the pleasure takes place in a car because of the correlation to her past trauma in the car accident. Surviving this assault leads her to become cold and almost robotic- void of emotion or empathy… like a machine. Its a conplicated movie

Literally my reaction 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 like gurl why are you murdering everyone 😭😭😭😭😭😭 and how tf can a car impregnate someone
Vincent is beyond wholesome, damn, he just wants to be SOMEONE'S father and to protect someone for once. He lost his own son, and wasn't mad that Alexia wasn't his son because he just had someone new to protect, then she dies which devastates him, but he immediately takes the baby, which could be considered an abomination, as his own because maybe he can at least save this baby. You really feel for the guy, let the poor man have a child who doesn't die or go missing, you know?
I like to think that he raised this baby and despite their nature and maybe some physical and medical speed bumps, they had a relatively normal and happy life and outlived Vincent where they nursed him in his old age and said goodbye to him on his deathbed and told him what a good dad he was.
That’s not wholesome. Vincent has some unresolved issues.
Made the story less terrible. Thnk you
Vincent actually manipulates alexia into not leaving him and is delusional about his son not being his son, while everyone warns him. And in the end after she gives births and he trys to revive her, he actually kisses her dead corpse which seems so fckn weird. ?? Super weird movie

We watched the movie at psychology seminar that was dealing with body issues and body/mind correlation. Afterwards we had a long, deep conversation with experts from the area. Exact!!
Lol after e hydraulics I was in tears
For real. I thought the title was just clickbait, but this is one time the title didn't do the film justice with how weird the film really is.
Would be interesting if it turned out she made love to a transformer.
I don't think that she actually was pregnant by a car. I think that was a psychosis on her part (due in part to her head trauma). I think she was instead assaulted inside her car (hence the bruises) and her desire to self-abort. I think she also js the way she is because of her massive head trauma which can really alter a person. I think her relationship with Vincent is codependent for both of them since Alexia fulfills what Vincent needs. All of the things we see, Alexia seeing motor oil and metal is still part of a psychosis related to the trauma behind how she became pregnant. That's why she hits her stomach. Then again I didn't see the movie and I'm sure there's a ton I've missed so maybe that really is a car baby. 🙃
Probably accurate and is she the serial killer mentioned in the beginning of the movie? Given her killing spree it might make sense? That or I'm getting it confused with another recapped movie.

Don't forget Raw(2017). You can't believe what you just watched 😏
Vincent and Alexia are both really not okay. Vincent definitely knew she wasn’t his son from the beginning, but was sad and lonely enough to keep her with him. Alexia was an actual murderer who had sex with a car and fell onto a weird love with a random man. She was able to break her own nose just because. And the fact that they grew to love each other in strange ways was just so damn weird. No other word to describe it.
what ??? so that what weird is ???
Vincent is Alexia’s father.

@@visualsforyou7120 because female directors are still rare and those risking everything for new ideas even more. For me it's refreshing to see a woman daring something in the superhero/remake dominated movie world AND succeeding with it.
@@eisengrindt3453 I agree that it's great to see women get more opportunities in directing. I just don't think it's good to refer to a director by their gender when gender isn't related to the rest of the discussion. So the sequel of this movie could be about how Vincent raised his cyborg grandchild and develop him to have superpowers to defeat villains.
What a great sequel.
Nah, that wouldn’t be depressing enough to fall in line with the original “plot”.
This is a movie that I feel would have benefited a lot from ditching the b-movie car nonsense and leaning into the relationship between Alexia and the man. They both wanted someone who valued the other, and that part of the movie was the closest it got to holding my attention.
Since a large portion of film was already dedicated to that AND the rather innocuous conclusion, that seems like you got the wish.
I wouldn’t say that either even knew what they wanted or were actually much capable of providing it. They did seem to respect the broken, selfish aspects within themselves though.

Same director of Raw (French: Grave) which also made a LOT of people very uneasy. Her name is Julia Doucournau and she’s AMAZING
Producer: so what is this movie's genre going to be?
Writer: yes.
A very disturbing and well written film. From the way I see it is that the car sex is just a metaphor or a way to make the movie more disturbing while adding a hint of mystery. If we try to bring the film to reality I think the girl got raped by the man who kissed her but she managed to kill him. Her having car sex is probably her psyche trying to block the trauma. The rest is what real life is about. Daughter runs away from parents who either disapprove and/or dislike her and runs into the arms of someone else and is willing to care for them.
exactly.
Makes more sense
Was there any implications in the film on whether or not she was facing hallucinations?
Thank you for making this make sense.

What is the meaning behind Titane?
To go into further, spoilerish detail: Titane is a film about a woman who behaves like a machine, dangerous and automatic and devoid of empathy or feeling, and who thus imagines herself to be incompatible with other human beings.

Imagine that for a story to be recapped
Oh and don't forget being haunted by the trauma surrounding mother's death and her being a serial killer!
Thought she would give birth a lil car🤣🤣🤣
i think what actually happened was she got r@ped by that guy she kissed/killed and it was interpreted as her birth as car instead because of the way her mind was changed after the car accident. and the trauma she faced. She didn't like when people touched her. she felt like her father didnt care for her- and she only felt like cars could. thats only a theory tho- because she went on a killing spree after she got pregnant and there's only one part that was a weird blur-which was the car at her home.-
Nah the movie is the way it is lol
LovingZombi: Oh, I see what you mean. I went supernatural and thought the guy she murdered for kissing her haunted the car (he was her #1 fan, remember) and used the only physical thing around to help him get her pregnant - the car. Kinda like the movie, The Entity
