@@TheRealDlo I have not gotten my tesla adapter yet... 2022 platinum with 37k miles... I love the truck and can't wait for the adapter to arrive. But frankly I hear the cost on the Electrify America and others are better than the Tesla chargers... Am looking forward to testing that though. And I think having more choices and options to charge will only help everything get better
2023 F150 Lightning XLT ER owner here since Dec 2023 ..... I've previously owned gas-powered F150's with the last one being a top of of line Lariot, and I agree .... This Lightning is hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned and most certainly the fastest/most responsive. I drive a lot of miles, so I currently have 30k miles with zero issues. I'm still waiting on my Tesla adapter from Ford, but purchased an A2Z adapter for the interim simply for road trips .... I thin I've used it twice, with the first time being a matter of simply just trying it out. I have solar and pay, basically nothing to charge it, saving me hundreds of $ a week over driving a gas vehicle daily. Only regret is not getting a Lariot with Blue Cruise ..... What prevented me from doing so was Fords asinine decision to price the MSRP of Lariots just a few thousand $$ above the threshold to qualify for the $7500 tax incentive .... No way was I walking away from that $7500 credit just because Ford thought no one would care ..... Huge FAIL on Fords part because this boondoggle undoubtedly stopped many from buying the higher priced trims, causing a needlessly stupid loss of upgrade profits.
CORRECTION: I just analyzed of my 2 years of utility bills: Here is my breakdown: -10,000 miles in 2 years (14 months) -Average 2kw/miles -I used 5000 KW in 2 years -5000KW cost me $700 because my kw charge is $0.14 -$700 in TOTAL energy COST in 2 years! -$350 a YEAR in charging OVERALL I spend $30 a MONTH on charging ✌👍
I’ve had a lightning since August of ‘22, only 6,000 miles but no problems, use it as an actual truck and can still fry any vehicle around. Best purchase ever.
Great honest review! Picked up our 2023 Lariat SR this week. Can’t wait for the path ahead. Our 3rd EV and agree that it is not for everyone but likely works for more people than most think.
I am a new EV owner and have always purchased cars based on HP and speed. In the past five years, I have owned Dodge Challenger RT, SS Camaro, and 6.2 Chevy High Country. My classic is a 77 Corvette, which also enjoy. I bought a 2024 F-150 Lightning and love the power and functionality! It’s the fasted car I have owned and the it’s been fun to learn a new way of doing life.

Definitely on my wish list. Great video. My kids school is 20 to 25 min away, we spend $120 to $140 a week on gas for our Honda Pilot. I miss having a truck and the Lightning has everything I want in a truck.

2023 Lariat for me and free charging at work. 96 mile round trip 5 days a week and charged at home (just a little bit) one time so far. Love this truck. I rarely tow, have no need to use it for road trips. I have no shade for it.

I just picked up my 2024 ford lightning flash and have the same experience as you. I like everything about it. Funny story I told my next door neighbour I got an electric truck. Her only comment was well I hope the battery doesn't blow up. Some people are just ignorant.

I Saw another UA-camr who said he regretted getting his lightning, but the reasons he gave were, in my opinion, trivial. He actually said the ride was not smooth and he likes to drive with his windows down and it was too loud... 🤦 And he mentioned towing to his grandmother's house, which was hundreds of miles away, was difficult. Who the hell tows items to grandmother's on a regular basis? And he actually said, even charging at home was expensive and not much cheaper than gas. I live in the Bay area and electricity is expensive, but gas is even more expensive, So wonder where he's living that electricity is more expensive than gas.To each his own.

Yeah the frunk surprises people all the time LOL. Honestly it could be the 2nd best feature behind the fuel savings. 2023 XLT Extended Range Silver here and funny I am at 10,400 miles. Only had it since April though. Troublefree thus far and love it. I did my homework before buying it so no range or performance surprises, except the turn radius but it is a truck. I havent faced middle of winter yet but I know pretty much what to expect. Im in Boston so its not a severe winter. But its winter LOL. The fuel savings are a game changer. Having Tesla charging is a game changer. The frunk is a game changer. The incentives are a game changer. Sticker was 74k. Down to 56k including tonneau and spray liner. Very happy customer so far
I'd love to get a Lightning but I tow a 30ft travel trailer so I think it would be an issue. Once the tow range improves I'll be in the market for sure. Enjoy.

I have a 2023 Lightening XLT that I’ve owned for 7 months. It’s THE BEST truck I’ve ever owned and I’m 63 and have owned many Ford trucks & two Chevy trucks. This is by far the best. The ride, the comfort, the A/C, the speed…everything. I charge once every two weeks at home, while I sleep. I’ll never own a gas/diesel vehicle again.
great feedback. some things you think would be obvious but rarely is highlighted in review videos. you tow occasionally short distance. sure it will be great. You tow often long distances, buy a diesel!!
I drive long distance in an EV. I look forward to the stops to stretch my legs and rejuvenate. Of course I’m in a Tesla and don’t have a charging issue.
I live in a very rural area in the south so I'm hesitant to get an electric vehicle due to lack of charging stations unless I go into the city. Do you have a charging station installed at your house? Is it a regular 220v outlet like a standard electric dryer plug-in? Also, what increase in your electric bill have you noticed? lastly, what benefits/cons do you notice in price and time vs connivence over refueling at a gas station have you noticed?
THIS is the type of conversation we should be having. Great questions man! 1) I installed a 220v in my garage (Like a dryer plug - It cost $500 to pay a guy to help me install it) 2) I see about a $30 a month increase to utility bill. 3) For ME, I charge at home each night and almost NEVER charge in public, so I personally SAVE time by having an EV I haven't went to a gas station in 2 years, its awesome :)
@@smoothieking157Seems like it would be perfect for the average rural resident. Drive around all day, run to town if you have some errands. Plug in at night. Avoid paying for gas , especially since the rural gas stations often charge more. In fact it’s likely MORE suitable for the rural person since most rural residents live in single family homes and often already have a breaker box outside to power their deep well. They can easily add another breaker to the outside breaker box and run the outlet wherever they want it.
If you are in California maybe not applicable to you. I'm in Canada. We generally rust proof our vehicles. Can rust proofing apply to this truck? Too electrical components to be concerned about. I want the F150 but feel there is more value in the Tesla sentry mode. What is your opinion on sentry mode? Does it have it, can they include it? I find Ford went backwards with their trim levels. I feel I want a basic level, 2wd but extended range. My understanding is that at least here Pro trim extended not available. Your lucky to be charged only 18 cents per kwh. Here fees are 30 cents to 50 cents. Furthermore, I heard some stations charge by the time and there are mins like 30 min or one hour. So if I only need 20 min, I still get charged 1 hour. Not fair. Do you know anything about that? When you start using tesla charging, please talk about that experience. Membership fees, costs, ipside and downs. Ty
I believe the negative is on price. Resale values. I just went to test drive one. The dealer has em hiden in back. And said something wrong with it. We looked at broncos and left
@TheRealDlo i went to a nissan dealer. It was crickets in there. 1 old guy looking at something. The honda dealer was booming. That ford dealers had more workers than customers. 4 broncos 4drs on lot and 1 was a used
I dont think this ev is good for long trips but long range teslas are decent . The chevy silversdo can get over 400 miles . I think once you get over 350 your good . Now your correct on charging even in California and that even includes tesla superchargers is limited . My town in socal does not have a single charger and there are allot of evs and it borders a well traveled freeway . Now 20 miles north and south no problem. Now for such a short time evs are available its amazing you can make a long trip work but it can be so much better if you had charging comparable to the convenience of gas stations and that will come . When autos appeared there was not a gas station on every corner . The good thing for evs you can fill up at home

How does it do on hills? I live in WV and I'm looking into used Lightnings, it might be a few years before I pull the trigger.
I don't notice hills anymore because the engine doesn't make noise! The torque handles EVERYTHING better then any vehicle I've ever owned honestly 💪

A short commute is really bad for a gas engine because they never reach operating temp, but an EV won't care.
Great review. Bottom line if you want daily city truck great. BEST tip was if you live in Pg&e territory none of the ev make sense.

Ford with such financial resources and they only did something like this look at the Silverado EV very cleverly designed EV, Rivian is a different game and the cybertruck is a show of possibilities, genius and technological advancement, Ford is a show of LAZYNESS AND CHEAPNESS it did not impress with anything zero...without ambition.
