I like the weekly approach as it's inspiring to see progress. If you have a big sub-project that you think is particularly informative and want to cover it in detail, you could always put together a summary video when it's done to show all the steps in cohesion. Even if I've seen most of the footage already I'd watch it to get a sense of how you feel it fit together (or not) and comments like, "if I'd known this I would have done this differently..."
georgiogorge Hey Georgio, hoping this week's video gives you a better insight into what I'm doing on the boat. You're right in saying piecing together a large project even if some of the footage has already been show is better, I think that's what I'll end up doing. But this week there are a couple of "I would have done this differently..." moments! Thanks for commenting, Josh
I understand the problem. I have the same issue myself. If I can I will do a project based video - doesn't happen very often. For example, when I put a self-steering windvane on the boat I saved the video footage until I could show the first sea trial in the same episode. However, for some of my current projects I am doing half now and the rest in the spring, so I am putting out stuff as it happens. I don't think there is a right answer. I am happy to follow your progress whichever way you do it. Cheers.
Just about sailing Thanks! It's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with the video structure. It's seems like you've found the best balace, dedicated videos for things like self steering but keep people updated as things come up in between. Good luck! Josh
Great stuff, looking forward to your videos every sunday! Have a vega myself so watching these kind of vids you make are really inspiring. Hope you can continue uploading as much as possible! Regards from Norway
Vega youngster Thanks! Glad to know I'm inspiring you! You should start to see much more of what I want to do now that I'll be posting what I'm able to do each week rather than waiting for each project to be over. But feel free to ask if you ever want to know more information about what I do. Good luck with your Vega!
I bought my own vega earlier this year and am going to be doing a lot of work to it this winter over here in Stockholm. IMHO don't worry about the structured thing, just do all the little jobs, they are just as interesting for the vega people. Personally i am going to be insulating (think i am going to use Airtec Double), re-wiring, re-rigging this spring (after a my fore stay broke in the middle of the Baltic this summer), and making the port berth into a dinette if i have the time. Keep up the good work!
Looking great there! Enjoying seeing how it comes along. I like the idea of doing the work updates, rather then one job a video. Makes more sense as you get more done that way. As to the editing, maybe cut the video up so that the segments are about the one job and not scattered all around the video.
Rigal Yeah, that's a good idea, cover a few jobs in the one video but cover them in order so it's well organised. It means I don't have to dedicate an entire video to installing the new lights, I think I'd struggle to make that interesting on it's own haha. Thanks mate! Josh
Not a problem, It'll mean a bit more vedio editing, but that should become faster in no time! Most people would struggle with that! Unless you do it in a bikini.... Though that may chase people away! Are you going for ultra bright LED's with deffusers or LED strip lighting under the trim?
great work! I am also renovating a sailboat of a similar size (a Jeanneau Fantasia 27) on my channel (sailing Jabuka) and I will follow yours with interest for possible ideas and suggestions. By the way, what kind of adesive do you use to glue the foam to the fiberglass? I am planning to use a spray one or another designed for wallpapers. Actually at the moment I haven't decided yet if gluing the foam to the fiberglass and the vinyl on top of it, or rather sticking the vinyl on top of removable plywood panels. I am not sure about what solution will work best. thanks!
Tinkerlog This is something I've considered much more over Christmas and New year and is why I've not put out a video for the last fortnight. Hoping to come back with a bit of a bang next Sunday but with a shorter video released before that to explain everything. Thanks for commenting, Josh
Think tackling different jobs through the week will let you get more done, like you said. Great videos, inspiring!

Just do what is easiest for you. I like it when one video contains different stuff. What's the deal with the headliner?
Way to go man! Keep up the good work!
Mike Larson Thanks Mike, hoping you'll get to see a lot more of what I'm doing now!

Weekly updates is better.
Bergfinken Cheers mate! I agree, I'll start including more each week! Thanks for watching, Josh
