The problem with Adventure jumpball is that he looks trapped Movie jumpball is the winner no doubt, its fantastic and exactly what they were going for originally back in 2D days. It accentuates the power of sonics quills and correctly mimics how hedgehogs actually curl. Honourable mention goes to gens jumpball
I like that the Adventure uses the original SFXs when jumping and Spin Dashing and the Unleashed/Generations shows the short hop transitioning into the full hop
@@Hynet1 Thank you. There is also a version of the mod that puts you into a ball after a homing attack like in SA1, but it causes issues with open zone combat, so I recommend using it only for cyberspace.
I like how clockworks seems less “cool spiky lights” and more like sonic actually spinning, they should make something like that or how he looked in sa1 jumps, where his shoes and blue from spikes blended or maybe have a jump ball like sonic superstars, idk anything is better by this point
The adventure "jumpball" is great in theory, but it needs to be animated in such a way that it gives the impression Sonic is spinning at extremely high speeds -- which is definitely not the case here. Tangentially to this "jumpball" thing, one thing I'd have always wanted to see implemented in 3D Sonic was varying spinning speed for "jumpballs" -- just like in the classic games and mania. And with this I mean that depending on the speed Sonic was running/ dashing at, the jump would have a proportionate spinning speed. It's always satisfying to jump at max speed, see sonic come out in a lighting-fast spinning ball and hit an enemy. In 3D, this could be integrated with a mechanic that made the "jumpball" deal more damage depending on how fast it spins (thus incentivizing the player to defeat certain enemies at high speeds and from a position of momentum)
I prefer Sonic Adventure _2's_ jump ball. The light-blue aura effect makes it look less clay-like. Hell, there are a LOT of things I prefer from Sonic Adventure 2/Battle.
Someone needs to make the sa2 jumpball man. Have sonic do those 3-4 slow frontflips, then go into free fall when he reaches its peak, with that dark blue aura over it!
My Favorite Super Sonic Spin Attack (what it is called in Sonic 1, 2, 3, what you call the Jumpball) is from Sonic 1-CD-3K, KC, M, 3D Blast and Sonic Adventure 1
i like his jump ball to look natural and not all lit up sonic should not light up when he jumps 😭 clockwork is more natural but it looks kinda weird and still lit up so i go w unleashed/gens

From the looks of it, the Clockwork jumpball looks like how it does in Sonic 06
Nah, sonic 06 was just sonic physically rolling into a ball. Clockwork has some glow to make it nicer.
@@zf10studios52 yeah, it does, but one thing that looks exactly the same, is the spindash, since it's got a fairly similar glow in 06
